Your Top 5 Most Anticipated Games of All Time

With Brawl less then a month away, I'm interested to see what other games have made people go crazy while waiting for their launch. So, what are the top 5 games (in no particular order) you anticipated the most before they were released? I'm guessing Brawl will be on more then just a few of the lists. Here are my personal top 5 most anticipated games.

Now, some people might be wondering why A Link to the Past and Twilight Princess are in my top 5, but not Ocarina of Time. The reason is...I was worried Zelda wouldn't work very good in 3D. I've always been a firm believer that a 2D game series doesn't transition well into 3D except on rare occasions...so I had a "wait and see" approach with Ocarina. Of course, Zelda transitioned perfectly into 3D...and Ocarina of Time quickly became one of my absolute favorite games.

I know it's supposed to have 5, but that's pretty much it. To me, Pokemon has mailed it's fission( Yoshi cookies to whoever gets the reference), Final Fantasy XIII has no release date and a lot of it is behind closed doors, and there isn't much info about Nintendo's lineup after Brawl.

The vast majority of them were disappointments.

That's why I'm worried about Brawl.

Of course I'm hyped for Brawl, I just listed past ones. Yeah, and I went over five. I've just hyped all of those games above a lot, I can't see putting a number of them over any others.

- BRAWL : For reasons unknown.
- POKEMON RED : I had the magazines and everything. I also had a guide. You can't even comprehend how stoked I was about getting this.
- FINAL FANTASY VIII : I loved 7, and when I finally got it, I loved 8. Even more than 7.
- STREET FIGHTER IV : Ever since SF3, I've been gagging for a sequel. I was there through out all the fake announcements, the hopes and the disappointments - and now it's finally coming.
- RAINBOW SIX VEGAS 2 : If you'd asked me in 2006 whether I would ever "love" a Tom Clancy game, I'd have said "hell to the no" - and yet here we are.

Yeah, I'm a bit behind. I grew up with the Game Boy and the N64 (I didn't play video games until middle school but I did a lot of catching up with emulators )

Beyond those games I haven't been super hyped for many games in history. I guess. I was hyped for Twilight Princess back like, 3 years before it came out, but then all the bullcrap that came along with that game's development just made me fall off the hype machine. And then it wasn't even that good at all anyway.

Elder Scrolls IV is still the game I was most looking forward to of any game though. Morrowind had become my favorite game when I bought an XBox, and I have hundreds of hours logged in both Morrowind and Oblivion. I've given Arena a spin also, and want to try Daggerfall, but need to find where to download/buy it from.

Also Majora's Mask was so much more intriguing and mysterious and amazing looking before it came out than say, Wind Waker or Twilight Princess was. But Wind Waker is notable for that first moment of "WTF IS THAT TOON DOING IN MAH ZELDA!?" back in whatever year it was.

Brawl (easily my most anticipated game ever)
Pokemon Red & Blue- back in elementary school games rarely generated much buzz before a release, that and how the game played had an air of mystery to it.
Super Mario Galaxy- I was practically digesting vids about a week before release
Majora's Mask- After OoT I was heavily anticipating the next 3D Zelda title, and ended up liking it more.
MGS4- got into the MGS series once 3 hit and a friend made me play. Can't wait for this one. *goes to find more videos*

Anticipating games is only something I've gotten into fairly recently, but these are some of my more memorable experiences.

Games that I have eagerly awaited:

-Half life 2: Amazing.
-Team Fortress 2: Too much fun.
-Portal: This is probably my favorite single player game ever.
-Pokemon Diamond/Pearl: Fun.
-Twilight Princess: Okay. Still like Majora's Mask better.
-Super Mario Galaxy: Not entirely what I was hoping for, but its an excellent game.
-Brawl: we'll see.

I make it a personal point not to typically preorder games. Sometimes, despite the great previews, the final product leaves something to be desired. The only game I have ever preordered is the Orange Box.
