There are currently only 2 non-Nintendo assist trophies from obscure series, they are Robin (Bayonetta) and Yuri (Fatal Frame). Boogerman would be best as a playable because he is another obscure, but likable videogame character.

HWYR if Devin (Grand Theft Auto) was an assist trophy in Smash 6? Devin is another notorious videogame hate sink character. I might want to discuss hateable character assist trophy ideas in another thread for both Smash and Multiversus.

HWYR if in Smash 6, a Lilac (Freedom Planet) were playable, Agent 47 (Hitman), and Micah (Red Dead), and Ayano (Yandere Simulator) were an assist trophies. Lilac and Agent 47, are obscure just like Prince of Persia, Bayonetta, Asuka (Senran Kagura), and Isaac (Golden Sun), and Micah and Ayano are notoriously hateable, just like Chris (Sonic), and Reboot Dante (Devil May Cry).

Multiversus already exists, so there could be more platform fighting games sometime in the future.
