1) Madeline (Celeste seems like a good Nindie platformer that has a load of items that can be used for her moveset. Also, I love Celeste (even though I can’t get past 500m in the Pico 8 version, but nevermind that) and I’d like some Nindies in Smash)

2) Byleth (Let’s be real, Three Houses will come to Smash eventually. Byleth will prob be an Ace or Legend spirit or a character made to promote TH *cough* Corrin *cough*)

3) The Fallen Child (Frisk > Sans. Also Undertale could also use some representation like Celeste)

4) Dee, Bandana (would probably made it in if Sakurai actually added lots of stuff about new gen Kirby)

5) Captain Toad (i see no reason why it’s been turned into a spirit)

6) It’s a surprise.

Caeda! (You probably guessed someone like Waluigi, didn’t you! Just tell the truth. Anyway Caeda is like the second character of Shadow Dragon, and is unique, as she uses a lance instead of a sword like 100% of other FE characters)

Classic third party icon with a strong Nintendo presence and the potential to be one of the most unique fighters out there, even with a past fighting game appearance.
2. Dr. Eggman
Super iconic villain that’s been in his franchise since the beginning. His potential implementation may be called a Bowser Jr. clone, but there’s much more you could do than that.
3. Steve
The default protagonist of the (now) best-selling game of all time. Ingrained into the gaming community’s subconscious. Would bring a unique building/crafting aspect alongside the potential for a really neat randomly generated stage.
4. Banjo-Kazooie
A big star on the N64 back in the day and the posterchild for Rareware’s immense contributions to Nintendo in that era.
5. Quote
Protagonist of one man’s labor of love and the inspiration for hundreds of indie games.
6. Geno
People have been asking for him as long as they have Ridley or K Rool. Has a fascinating design and would represent the multitude of Mario RPGs out there.

Understandably, BioShock probably wouldn't get ported to Switch, so I'd say a Resident Evil character deserves it most.

Sora is also an excellent contender since Super Nintendo World is opening in Disney World in 2020, so this would be excellent promotion.

Wario with a moveset thats inspired by Wario Land. His real line of games, the games that put him on the map.

I'd vote for the top 4 but the last 2 chances are extremely slim. Reason for that is despite the fact that Marx is a unique and memorable Kirby villian people clamor for bandana dee instead for some reason and Nintendo tries so hard to replace Wario Land with Warioware.
