Wrong, Dsmash can KO at 150-170.

His Fsmash is decent. That's it. Most moves come out instantenously, or have huge range to sub the lag time. Yoshi doesn't have the range to sub it.

Usmash is used too many times to have consistent knockback and power. Plus, it doesn't kill at 100%
Hmmm, can't say that I've ever had a dsmash kill. Then again I usually dthrow>upsmash/Uair at about 120 for the kill

Yeah it's not that good of a smash, it's got decent speed, decent lagtime, slightly above average knockback. But I just can't get over the leanback on it, I've dodged quite a few fsmashes (no swordies of course =P) charging my own Fsmash at a good time then punishing accordingly, other than that though I can take it or leave it.

Yeah i rarely get Usmash kills (unless it's right after i die), do to the easy Bair to Usmash "combo" I just can't help but tack on that extra 15ish damage.

I save my usmash for a kill move now since yoshis so hard to kill with
Dsmash i usually use to get them off the edge ready to edgeguard. I prefer bair to utilt, leads to more goodness and save my usmash for a kill move. Also dthrow to uair doesnt work, its very easily airdodged. I like dthrow to egg occasionally cuz then if they airdodge they eat another attack. My 3 main kill moves are grounded down b, fsmash, and uair. Uair is obvious, down b can shield stab and it sorta has the dodge and counter effect, and fsmash punishes people spacing their aerials or just being reckless, and i love it.

Ah, I'll have to keep the Dthrow to egg in mind. But you can usually wait for the airdodge if you see it coming (I've practiced on that), but the egg you're bound to hit with either or so that may be a better idea. Yeah I'll have to try saving the usmash for a kill, does Dair refresh other attacks since it's a multihit or does it still just count as one attack? and yeah I love first jab to Down B, and if they shield that thing destroys shields so nicely.

So all in all...yoshi doesn't suck and these are all reasons why.

Also in my experience yoshi is a shield muncher. You can really wear down someone's shield to almost nothing QUICKLY. Yoshi is an offensive character and you can continually put pressure on them and get a shield break rather often.

Also, usmash I think has a lot of range. More than I was expecting when I first started playing at least. It has a lot of horizontal leniency and can pump a lot of damage into your opponent. Doesn't an uncharged usmash/fsmash do something like 16-17%?

Just another day.
Most smash atks from Yoshi does at least 15% (probably more). It's good damage wise, but there's no knockback that can add to it. If Yoshi had more stuntime from his atks, then he'd be the true combo manic he was supposed to be.

He is a good defensive and offensive character, but if you are facing enemies that are good up close, then you have to play almost pure defensively and then once they figure out you are camping, then attack them close range. If you go all out and be offensive at once, you probably will get out gunned.
