I know I promised to not post here, but I'm very upset! Why? Because I don't see no users posting comments. Why? Don't get me mad cause that's another issue that will set me off. That's feeling guilty for ruining someone else-s fun. Do not respond to this message! Just post comments in the Yoshi boards! I always peak back just to see if others will well feel all awkward and stuff... well don't be. Go back to the time when I wasn't even created in the online world. Okay? Now post some dang comments! And a variety okay! This is an order got it! Bye~

(This isn't a respond and me coming back). This is just to restore peace with the Yoshi boards. Will sneak peak one more time just to make sure that more people comment. Don't test me!

But Waluigi. I'm afraid that if there was a scene for Mario Power Tennis, there would be TONS of competition from us to see who gets to play Yoshi lol.

I like how Mario Tennis Open has so many different coloured Yoshis, too bad it's not the same for Power Tennis as it would've been ideal.

Power Tennis changes his color whenever you use his defensive super. They have all the colors there, just not selectable.

Nah, Koopa isnt broken, he has no ways to force points out of you. Sure hes hard to score on, but he cant force anything himself due to his abysmal power and curve. From my experience, the best character in the game is Petey, followed closely by Peach/Daisy/DK/Paratroopa (in no specific order) then after that its between Yoshi/Bowser/Luigi/Koopa/Diddy/Wiggler/Waluigi. After that, Mario/Shy Guy/Fly Guy/Wario with bottom two no doubt being BJ and Boo.

I havent played in a while, so I may be a bit off since this is all off the top of my head, (Wiggler/Waluigi may be better as well) but imo Koopa isnt so much a good character so much as an easy character to use.

yes.
Mario Strikers Charged I was good at until they found the easy way to goal with waluigi and Daisy (tho just slightly kicking the ball against the wall can be done by anyone) it's easier with those two cause they're faster and defensive so they can teleport past the goalie if those tactics fail.

Edit: Video reference if nobody knows what I'm talking about.

Doesn't his power shot set up well for a lob over them? And with his ridiculous speed and good lunge (I think his lunge is one of the best...), he really doesn't need to use his defensive shot much either...

Iunno, I also haven't played this game against highly competent players (unless you count the AI), but I really like Koopa. Then again, I've always been one for wars of attrition.

Raptor, I used to play Strikers Charged all the time. I was pretty high up in the leaderboards back in the day, but I never really put much into learning the stupid auto-goal tricks aside from the teleporting, which is dumb.

Its a drop shot, so it barely goes anywhere. Koopa cant lob over you since he has such low power that dropping back to get it isnt a problem.

We play without power shots, and koopa's defensive power shot scores every time when returning a power shot. He's definitely the best from what we have found. And both strikers games are fun, but I like charged better. If had time, I'd whup all of you.

Offensive* Koopa's defensive isnt anything amazing (not that he really one much though lol).

Lol, Koopa's power shot is nowhere near as good as you guys are saying. Koopa should never be right at the net, and unless hes RIGHT there, the drop shot goes almost to the middle line meaning you only need to barely go past middle court to get it, plus with Koopa's abysmal power, he cant lob it over you and score since you can move back fast enough even with his slow (since it's the weakest slow in the game and is canceled by a lunge mind you).

What I dont think you guys get, its Koopa has little power meaning his opponents have more time to prepare/aim/charge a shot, meaning it's REALLY hard for Koopa to stay close to the net and usually ends up using his mobility to hang around the back two squares and get everything, he has no way to safely pressure. Also, unless someone screws up and hits something weak back at him, Koopa cant go up the the net to maximize his Offensive, and even if he does, the opponent can lob the power shot back giving time to reset or straight up Defensive the Offensive shot (which nullifies the secondary effects of Offensives) if need be. You can also Offensive Koopa's Offensive (and if you're Mario or Luigi use the Magic Hammer glitch to negate it completely) which makes it impossible to lob the ball far afterwards due to how bad low Koopa's power is, and also disables Koopa as well with whatever you're character's Offensive applies.

Honestly, Koopa should just hold on top his Power shot when he gets it and just save it to cover/punish mistakes or negate the secondary effects of other Offensives, it's not strong enough to force anything out of the opponent. Like, Koopa is definitely not bad, Im not trying to say that (he's imo borderline High/Mid tier) but he's definitely not the best; if he had better Power/Tech, he'd be MUCH better and maybe Top Tier, but atm he's THE weakest character outside of maybe Boo (cant remember who is weaker, they may even be tied) and also doesnt have the Power/Tech to make up for it. His saving grace is the best mobility, a decent lunge, and a good PUNISH super (emphasis on punish), but that's not enough to put him in top tier imo.

And I end up usually using Power Shots but with the controls on Technical or whatever its called so that the game doesnt force super use or whatever like it does normally, and also makes you aim supers otherwise you miss.

I never really cared and barely noticed the stat differences in Mario Power Tennis, I pretty much just played the game thinking that only Power Shots and their effects varied, and that a tricky character makes the ball curve. Never knew how much more there was to it. :p
I remember how much trouble I had with the final cup (haven't played it in a while so idk the name of the cup) of the singles and my opponent was Peach, my god I got frustrated to hell trying to beat it. :p
I never even beat some of the mini-games on a certain difficulty; I could never beat the coin mini-game or the Blooper Rally on the 3rd difficulty. >__>

And oh my god the music in that game is awesome, especially the World Open Finals theme; I love it too much. xD
The bloopers in this game are also too good.

Waluigi is pretty lame lol, but him and Wiggler are those two where I can never really decide how good they are. Someimes I feel like he's godlike and sometimes Im just not sure at all.

Unless youre talking about teams where he is most definitely godlike lol.

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to (doubles. He's definitely good in singles mainly because his reach and mobility is enough to cover most of his mistakes. Lob shots aren't nearly as useful since he's friggin tall. Wiggler is the same way for singels, but she's so slow that it doesn't typically offsets her greats since you can screw her over as soon as you have her going from one side of the court to the other.

Yeah, I think Petey/Waluigi/DK are easily the best in doubles, probably in that order (maybe DK > Waluigi due to better supers, not sure though since its pretty close).

Petey is broken in every mode honestly, I really dont see how any character can be considered better, he's tied for the longest reach, has the highest power (higher than Bowser), has easily one of the top 3-5 BEST sets of supers in the game, doesn't have the slowest mobility (thats Wiggler), has the highest jump of all non flying characters (although I guess technically he can fly LOL), and most of all, EVERY SINGLE HIT OF HIS CAUSES A KNOCKBACK, no other character in the game does this, in fact, the knockback is equal to some supers. His only real downsides are a bad lunge (but why even use it with him with his godlike range and good enough mobility) basically zero curve, and is somewhat easy to punish if he makes mistakes. He also has surprisingly good Tech (best of all heavies actually), some of the best frame data on his supers (if I remember he has the second fastest recovering non-following Defensive, meaning the second best defensive super in the game, best is Peach, and has somewhere in the Top 5-10 fastest recovering Offensives while also tied for the strongest Offensive with Bowser/DK while being faster in recovery than both), and has easily the best pressure in the game due to his insane hit speed and free knockbacks. I honestly think he could be argued to have his own tier at the top.

It's a drop shot that forces an approach and slows you down, from what I remember. Plus, I think his drop shot decreases control over the shot pretty significantly, since I see a lot of balls go out when they hit his shot. You can always just lob it to the opposite side that they're on too.

I think forcing points in general is hard against players who are just gonna play the patient game. =/

Edit: Lol I missed half the posts lolololololol.

Waluigi makes me cry everytime I have to play Wario/Waluigi in the Star mode final cup. ;_;

Lol Delta read this post again: http://smashboards.com/threads/ygd-back-to-our-island-for-summer.233895/page-393#post-15853304 specifically the second sentence in the second paragraph. And one thing I WILL point out is this that you said:

I think forcing points in general is hard against players who are just gonna play the patient game. =/
This is true if you play a character like Koopa, for sure, but there are quite a few characters that can force you into ****ty positions safely AND force reactions without needing to have specific set ups, mistakes happen, etc, and those are characters like Petey, Peach, Daisy, DK, etc. hence why theyre better characters. Koopa is a fantasic defensive character in that hes hard to score on and can stop you from gettin gyour ideal offensive going, that much is true, but when it comes to actually getting points, forcing reactions, controlling the pace of the match, etc, Koopa CANNOT do those things unless a mistake is made by the other guy, the Koopa is straight up outplaying his opponent by being better at the game, or he's playing against a bad character like BJ or Boo.

Also, Koopa no doubt gets countered by Petey, Peach, and DK, so even if his Offensive WAS as good as youre thinking it is, those 3 beat him solidly regardless and having bad MUs against 3 of the top 5ish characters in the game =/= Top Tier or broken (at best thats like bottom of Top Tier). Overall, Paratroppa is an almost a straight upgrade from Koopa, sure he has quite a few things different about him, but from how theyre actually played, they are very similar while Paratroopa is literally just all around better stats in everything but speed (which he makes up for with coasting).

Koopa is good, dont get me wrong, but he is not THAT good, hes just borderline High/Mid since he has one of the worst overall offensive and pace controlling games in the cast.

I read the post after I posted. They didn't all show up when I first viewed the thread for whatever reason. hehe.

I like Koopa exactly for those reasons lololololol. Deltacamp in all the games.
