I dunno what you mean, Nakat. You were ****** Delta pretty hard game 1 until you derped around and forgot Yoshi has range.
Hell if my two games from Megafox last year was recorded, it'd probably be a better demonstration of the MU to be honest.
It was a midtier event with a GNC controller prize. During the match my carpool kept yelling at me from across the venue saying we had to go. So I am playing this match and yelling at them to leave me alone because they were being rude. They kept doing it so I just quit during the match and left. I am saying that the video that is uploaded is not how I would play the matchup. Prior to that match I beat him in bracket at the same tournament solidly as usual lol.

I wanted that ****ing controller lol.

I'm saying game 1 was basically how I envision matches between you two are like all the time outside of the two gimps.
So technically agreeing with you, not denying you.

There's no need to defend yourself, dude. V-man asked for matches of Yoshi, so I pulled some "recent" sets I have uploaded. I made no claim about how our personal MU usually goes, what the Yoshi vs. Fox MU is like, or about what your skill as a player is. I just wanted to show him some matches that weren't from 2010.

I don't recall doing so, and if I ever did, then I certainly didn't do it for more than maybe a week or two after the set happened, unless I was specifically directing the video at you. My posting the video for others to watch still has nothing to do with that.

Oooh that too.

I really really hope they give eggroll the boot for something better, but it's been in every game thus far. Hopefully they don't keep it just for consistency sake.

I wonder what they'd replace it with?

It didn't.
I'm for a new side-B, though if they keep egg roll adjustments must be made >.> It can be useful in certain situations as is, but really...it needs a buff.

Make egg roll have an almost instant start up (or at least give it a way to quickly start like using it right before you land or something like in Brawl) and allow Yoshi to jump cancel it or something, that way it would be useful, especially if it could be combod after.

Or give him a new side b, Im fine with that as well.

Look at Brawl Mnus Yoshi egg roll. Its more safe, fast start up, a looot more speed and could be canceled mid roll into literally anything

PS: Everybody is taking all the good Bowser avatars T-T

That would be amazing :bee: They'd better nerf Villager though, already looks pretty broken imo...but not as bad as Mega Mans Dsmash X_X

I dont think Villager looks op. He looks good for sure, but from what Ive seen so far I already see some holes in his play and Im not really sure what he has to fight back against hard rushdown. He also has a lot of very gimmicky moves and a lot of moves have long cooldown. Unless he has some other moves that make up for his current holes or they buff some of his options before release (both of which are 100% possible, the game isnt coming out in a year lol) hes definitely not going to be top tier. I could see high tier, but top tier, nah. Villager lacks any really quick moves that come out fast and doesnt really have any long range attacks outside of slingshot which doesnt look like it can be angled, meaning if you come at him from an angle where he doesnt have a fast or safe option, you can really abuse him. He also doesnt have any good landing moves, meaning he looks like he could be juggled and also doesnt have too much speed, his running speed looks Ness/Lucas esk. The little bit weve seen him in the air, he also looks to have mediocre air speed, so laggy start up moves, average speed, blind spots, and lack of range doesnt seem like a top tier imo. Still not bad by any means, but Im not seeing Villager as 'broken' like everyone keeps hyping him up to be.

WFT I dont know enough about to tell, but she has the speed to be beastly and if she ends up having range/disjoints on top of that, she could be ridiculous. I really want to see the speed/angle of her soccer ball, how high/fast/safe her hoola hoop is, the actual hitbox if her attacks, etc, before I make a solid opinion in my head, but she definitely has potential to be REALLY good, but if she lacks range, she could easily also end up much like Mario in Brawl, not that good.

And MegaMan looks really good, that flame sword is ridiculous and is the exact type of tool a zoner would want to deal with people who get in on him, and his projectiles look pretty good. I still dont think he'll be broken though since from what Ive seen his blaster shots are really small and with the opponent constantly moving, it could be hard to hit every time with them. The move isnt really punishable though, so he wont get hit for missing, he'll just have his opponent closer too him. The one major thing I want to know is if those Blades of his can be caught out of the air. I know they can if they are picked up then thrown, but if they are catchable when he just straight up launches them as well, then I dont think MegaMan will be top tier either. If they ARENT though, I think he could be, since those look stupid good. I also want to know how his leaf shield works and what it blocks, if it blocks attacks at all, because I could see MM completely destroying landing options with that shield. I think the leaf shield has the most potential of all his attacks atm, especially since we havent actually seen it in action yet. And as for MM dsmash, it does hella damage yes, but its short range, not that fast, and MM is a zoner meaning he doesnt want to be close enough to hit with it anyway.

All speculation, definitely not final or law or anything, and my opinions are subject to change especially when we get more info, but as of right now those are my thoughts on the new guys.

I think recovering vs MegaMan would be a daunting task for most characters. Recovering low just inst an option due to the ranged meteor attack, and recovering form mid is where all of his projectiles are in range. The only safe zone would look like recovering high. But then again MM can angle those saw blades.

You guys think he could mess with Yoshi's recovery?

That meteor attack honestly doesn't look that troublesome at all. If Yoshis recovery is as flexible as it is in Brawl, we have nothing to worry about. I'm sure Yoshis second jump will still have super armor as well, so that's something else that can help out.

I think youre refering to your analysis of Yoshi?

So guys in the next smash, would you guys like or dislike it if yoshi became god/top tier? Just wondering.

High, not top tier, but difficult to play would be the most ideal for me.

...Huh.
I guess kinda like how Lucario is. He's good, but there's no real reason to play him over the other top tiers other then "He's Lucario."

I wouldnt mind, it would just mean Id be maining Yoshi lol. I usually just try to play the best of my fav characters each game (and still pocket the other ones anyway).

I was just joking.
I miss Yoshi from SSB. :(
I really don't like Yoshi on SSB64,even though he's somewhat decent here.
Well who cares,I suck at that game anyway.

:yoshi: Awww, Bigz. <3 Hey, what are you still doing here? LOL

I think youre refering to your analysis of Yoshi?

Yeah, you're right.

Basically, Yoshi in any game is always designed with a heavy sense of balance in mind because of his weight and his double jump property. The character revolves entirely around these two aspects and because they are things that aren't very noob friendly to play against, he takes heavy hits to his capabilities to make sure that people aren't ******** about a dinosaur with "super armor" all day. Yoshi has always been "good" in the sense that his toolbox is incredibly solid and functions the way it's supposed to (unlike Melee Zelda, whose toolset doesn't function at all like what it is designed to do). Yoshi's problem will always be that he is designed with drawbacks already on the table because of his traits; no other character is really designed like this. Look at any character that's ever been really really good in any Smash game and it's always been the small fast characters. They almost never have any serious weaknesses except for their weight and that doesn't really matter because they almost never get hit. They aren't designed with any drawbacks to their archetypes in mind. Melee Fox took this to an extreme (even moreso than Meta Knight) and characters that are designed with any sort of second thoughts aren't going to match up to the characters that are designed to spaz out on you mindlessly. Yoshi with the limiters removed would be a really stellar character (he's already close to being one, to be honest), but he uses mechanics that make people ***** and whine, so that's clearly not allowed.

I'm sure this was supposed to be much longer and more in depth but I am pretty hungry so that's not going to happen.

Regarding his next Smash game, I hope he's bannable good. I said it for Brawl and I'll say it again; I want Yoshi so good that he's banned from tournament play. As for him being "not bad" again, you guys have to remember that he's been good in every game, but his "badness" becomes apparent when he's compared to other characters; I'm willing to give Brawl Yoshi a pass because most of the characters in the game can't even properly use the game engine anyway, so the whole thing is a wash as far as I'm concerned. Instead of asking for Yoshi to be not bad, you should ask for everyone else to get designed with some damn sense.

So I went to my first tournament in like, a year, and ended up taking 5th playing mostly Yoshi (played Bowser a bit, but was mostly Yoshi). I ended up beating this ICs main I thought for sure I would lose to in my current, rusty state, but ended up winning 2-1 by timing him out game 1 with an 18% lead on SV, losing game 2 at BF, then winning game 3 at Delfino with about 20 seconds left lol. WAS HELLA INTENSE but felt great afterwards cuz I truly expected to lose going into it lol.

@Z'zgasi Congratz! How good was the tech skill of the ICs?

@Shiri Good analysis. I like how you highlighted how Yoshi had preset limitations in mind.
