Chade, 5$ MM. As you can tell from the first few posts I made here, I'm the best Yoshi on my block. So I should be able to give you trouble.

To "luigi korn master"

I think a MM, which stands for "moose massacre" is where you gamble your dinner foods on super smash brothers melee (for the nintendo gamecube) matches.

ATTENTION

Ok, I've been discussing this tourney with some people, and we have formulated an idea to get more people from WWU (and the local community) to compete.

We were thinking about lowering the entry fee to $5 per person for Western students.. (This excludes my crew - me, parker, mark, wes, drew, tim, parker, and jeff. We'll all pay $10)

Hear me out before scoffing.

This will work to everyone's advantage in the long run. I gaurentee that no one outside of my crew at WWU stands even a remote chance of placing.

By baiting them in with a lower buy in, there will be more people willing to compete, thus, increasing the size of the overall pot.

Yes, it's giving an 'unfair' advantage to people who can't even win anyhow >_>

The purpose of this is to drive more people (and money) into the tournament.

Tell me what you guys think.

There really isn't any reason why you guys shouldn't be. It's to your advantage.

Its like betting 2:1 odds on yourself when victory is practically gaurenteed.

Lol, I find it to be plenty reasonable of an idea...as long as you make sure 3 TIMES as many people come because of it. Yup. 3 times.

I like the 5 dollar thing if and only if twice as many people at the least come =)

also you will prolly have to contact skypal personally because other than the occasional blair, they dont check the boards...

oh and yea Im coming, with the van.

Make sure you dont do singles first, because when I get there I'll be meeting up with a friend, so I might not be able to enter doubles but thats cool so long as I can do singles xD (its all about me obviously, nah you dont have to but she is a reallllly good friend ;D, so hopefully 2 v 2 is first, kay? kay.)

I pm'd Blair a few days back.

They can figure out if they want to go in time. Tourney isn't for a while.

I'm happy that eastern WA, R.C (hopefully with some friends), and B.C. have shown interest.

Skypal would be a bonus.

XD, your logic is way too good Eric. I agree with Nate. The tourney should be titled, "Dan". You know it should be. Hmm...so I guess if Nate might not be teamin' with anyone...Otto and Reggie are gonna have to team. Yeah, for sho.

I'll still prolly team with Nate, but if I don't, I'd go with anyone really. Most likely Canada or SKYPAL though.

Blargh!!!

This tounrey HAS to be postphoned until April.

(Some stuff came up, and Drew (co-founder) won't be able to help me run it until prolly the 1st or 2nd Saturday in April)

I APPOLOGIZE. THIS TOURNEY WILL HAPPEN, JUST A LITTLE LATER THAN EXPECTED.

PLEASE WORK THE APRIL GAMECLUCKS TOURNEY AROUND THIS ONE.

I suck. My bad.

Anyway, as well as the Melee tournament, we're going to hold an SSB64 tournament. If you folks still think you have what it takes to compete at the old game (that's so slow and easy to play), throw in $5 or so into that tourney. We have a relatively significant SSB64 presence here as well as SSBM, so it'll probably also be worth your money.

And hey, Dan, no fair saying I still have to pay $10. Me = n00b, remember? Everyone knows Ganon/Marth are bottom tier.

hey, I decided to randomly check to see if there was a thread for Dan's tournie in MARCH and boy am I glad I did! jk!

April is cool and I have a massive amount of room at my house for shenanigans like sleeping and playing smash so I'm offering my place, but only for people I know. SKYPAL gets first dibs. I've talked to them about coming up for this and it seemed most were interested. I'm trying to get Blair, Sas, Link, Josh, Jon, Jeremy, and the long lost Rori to come. T'will be fun! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
