Q about the ICs MU, how are we even? How is G&W a -3 with them and Wolf even?
I know G&W's Bair can be SDIed but he has good air movement that's close to Wolf's, disjoint and so on. ICs can grab easy enough and match Blaster with their 2 icebergs. When 1 grab=a stock loss, I would think we have a -2 or at best -1 disadvantage. Especially with Brin gone .

We can split with our safe block moves. We have a forceable approach projectile. We have shine.

I hate MK more every day. Not because he's hard but because the whole (stage) CP metagame is constantly being redesigned to suck and keep MK legal. Why don't we just adopt Japan's rules (sarcasm), at least they discourage MK's planking and time outs by having fighting mean actually fighting (no sarcasm). No wonder ICs climbed the ranks so fast.

"lets ban all the good CPs (like Brin) vs several high tiers (IC's, Diddy, DDD, Falco, Snake...) so the character who's been top ranked since Brawl started can stay and then we'll say 'get better' to people who can beat MK because we can't argue about him breaking the CP system" pro-MK scrub.

Peach is +1 vs ICs IIRC. The earlier posts after Seagull's are actually making me lean toward Wolf vs ICs being ICs' favor. +1ICs I might see but even doesn't sound right :/ .

**** Japan ruleset. I don't go to any ruleset I can't cp other stages outside of neutrals anymore. I like Delfino, Halberd, Frigate, and CS because they add depth. They don't make more broken. I think having only neutrals actually makes him better by comparison. Less stages to practice on and less to counterpick under Japan ruleset. Bleh.

Brinstar, Rainbow Cruise, and Norfair were banned due to being stupid, not because of . just happens to be good at abusing stage gimmicks like the ones on those 3 stages. Norfair is enormous and has too many ledges. It's got hazards that can kill you at 0. Rainbow cruise promotes camping. It's a giant circle with random glitches. Brinstar is small, has constant extendable hitboxes and acid that rises ever so often.

Brin and Norfair were banned because MK could 'V' plank and was untouchable. And MK who can't camp is the best on RC. MK's the only character who got them banned; every other character could be dealt with. You may consider them stupid and that's your opinion just like I consider Frigate stupid, although I like it anyway. Some characters like stages others don't. That's what CPing's about.

So today at work, I saw some of the dumbest people of my life. It was just ridiculous. Okay so I work at a casino as a housekeeper. I am basically a Janitor at a casino. Some guy got really drunk and threw up in the bathroom. It was everywhere but it's part of the job. So myself and a coworker closed off the bathroom. We blocked the entrance with a sign that says closed for Maintenance. Started out fine and we were cleaning. Then we heard the sign move and some guy walks in. We said "Sir, see the sign it's closed go use another bathroom." He was like "I have to pee though." -_-

After a minute he finally leaves. No joke, a minute later, another guy tries to get in. A total of 15 guys tried to get into the bathroom when it clearly says closed and the path blocked within the 35 minutes it took to clean. I just couldn't believe how dumb these people are. Most of the excuses were but I have to pee. We pointed to where the bathroom was and 2 of them came back was like, is this done yet after 10 minutes. I just couldn't believe it.

So that was wonderful day today. I have never wanted to yell at a random stranger more than my life, and I worked at McDonald's as a front counter/drive thru person before. That was nothing compared to the raged built up from this. Now that felt better, time for Persona 4 <3

Man I haven't been on here in awhile, wuts up guys. I just went to my first tournament with school up again and I'm proud of how the rust/salt didn't stay with me much during the summer I could go to much tournaments due to work (also SC has almost no brawl scene >.>). The pools were really stacked but I did pretty well in amateur bracket and almost beat some of my friends at my school. I'll post the vids on the vid critique when they get them uploaded. I'm using Wolf because he shares a lot of traits with Wario and is a simple-but-effective character. Rewards general creativity and can legitimately play aggressively.

EDIT: I'm actually subscribed to this thread; I posted a little while ago about how I picked the character up.

I know I make a lot of "dumb" decisions, but I try to play him like Wario in hesitating just long enough to get people to unshield, etc. I'm convinced that it will work better when I get better with the character.

I used to think Wolf and Wario were similar too but I changed my mind. Other than the 7 frame jump and the fact that they are similar in weight they have virtually nothing in common.

They both have the ability to control air space very well and to move away through the air. I try to get the opponent to think it's safe to move just as I send an attack their way. That's similar enough for me.

As a player, I am generally afraid to avoid attacks on the ground (rolls, spotdodges, etc.), but airdodging away is a panacea for resetting the situation as Wario. Wolf has it rougher, but spaced aerials, Neutral-B shenanigans (EVERYONE, START USING IT UP CLOSE MORE), and Down-B invincibility more than make up for it.

Imho Wolf is better off doing so from the ground or to only stay in the air as short as possible while doing so. I'm curious to see your Wolf.

The hilt of blaster is pretty good lol, but when you don't hit with the hilt at close range things can get ugly :x I think there's merit in the way you're trying to approach Wolf, Reflex. Try mixing up more empty hops into FFAD ground actions, it's pretty good for Wolf and fits in with your playstyle idea. The last half of game3 was disgusting btw, why would anyone do that ;__;

Also, protip from the Marth Is Free campaign, you can punish DB3 on shield (and 2 too I think) with usmash OoS.

I'm still really envious of how good you are at speedhogging

At least if the hilt hits a shield while you're moving backward, the disruption from an unexpected second hit (the laser) can cause opponents to mess up approaches and get frustrated. It's far from foolproof, but can definitely make an opponent feel helpless in the right situations. The mindset is a big part of it. I do need to fastfall airdodge more; I'm just used to not having good options from it (as a Wario player, you get used to sucky ground options ).

This tournament was the first in a long time in our area that had no ledge grab limit. I am a notoriously impatient player at times (and it showed in Game 1), so Spade probably figured it was in his best interest to let me defeat myself...but I wasn't having it.

Noted about Dancing Blade--I'll be sure to make good use of it next time. I really struggle against that move. Thanks for that!

Ah, another Wolf main without patience. Welcome to the club

The problem is, good/careful Marth players rarely hit shields with DB. When Marth starts playing the MU properly things get a lot tougher imo :/ but no problem it tends to scare them away from using DB unless they're positive it'll land.

As silly as that is, I really think that Neutral-B has a fair amount of potential when it comes to edgeguarding.

I use it probably too much when edgeguarding, I just love to spam it till they get up, I have locked a few people with well time lazor spam keeping them from doing much lol . It does annoy them alot and it can force them into a predictable situation but I would love to see someone use the blade on the gun effectively for edgeguarding (which is probably a bad idea to do any how).
