When Brawl comes out, there will definitely be a reaction to its release on the boards. I reference member size and amount of posts. What will happen when the entire melee fanbase gets dissappointed by brawl or the exact opposite. Could we be looking at a mass exodus of swf users after Brawl's release?

Once I get Brawl, I will get online and say "I unl0cked Z0nic!!!!!!1111!11" then I sit back and watch their reactions. xD

Seriously, I want to unlock the characters REALLY quickly, so I'm skipping school that day. I just hope people on the East coast havn't already unlocked Jiggs. xD

Mah. If the Melee fanbase is disappointed, that'll be that. SMB64 still has a surprisingly strong fanbase on these forums, and it's not like that game was as successful as Melee. So, of course, Brawl will attract more fans. More people will get into the series, or back into the series. Also, if Brawl has online capabilities, this forum will undoubtedly get a massive surge of members.

A strong point from someone with such a low post count, that's rare on these forums. Kudos.

I think your right, but will smashers feel betrayed if Brawl wasnt everything we wanted it to be? And can we really bank on melee smashers sticking around if brawl sucks?

Most if not all members came here because the played one of it's two predecessors, so I doubt anybody will be leaving if it's a disappointment.

I don't know what will happen, other then a bunch of n00bs joining. It's inevitable when a hyped up game is released. XD

QFT!. thank you for that, we must all prepare for the great surge of noobs that will be spamming on our boards until the moderators whip them into shape. God help us all!

Long prediction short: between unlockable hoaxes, Break the Targets records, and a huge influx of newbs, the mods are going to be so busy it won't even be funny.

Hehe, I remember when SSBM was just released in Japanese (it got released in *** before English)

And a member had the game and posted pictures. I felt really sorry for him....he was bombarded with questions xD

Well, since the USA release date is confirmed (and will either be simultaneous with the Japanese release date or before it.)

I think the forum will be flooded with topics like:

I UNLOCKED THIS CHARACTER

HOW DO I UNLOCK THIS CHARACTER?!?!1

And then a new sub-forum will open which is for the questions and answers thread.... :p

I can smell the spoiler tags now...:p
Don't quote me on this, but don't expect there to be much spoiler tag'd. Sakurai's revealing info every day and none of it is spoilered, the best you can do if you want to avoid spoilers is don't read the Brawl forums.

I'd expect much of the same when the first BRawl trailer was released, except ona waaaay larger scale. Melee being released was called The Flood by the ol Vets.

What's this then? The Tsunami?

Maybe we could have two forums, a spoiler free discussion for those who haven't got it, and the usual "I UNLOCKED CLOUD!" somewhere else.

Meh, it'll be a sad, sad day when the brawl boards are combined.

Well it's gonna a forum equalivant of 'The Perfect Storm'

There will be spoilers, wavedashing is or isn't in gloating topics, Wii friend requests, people trying to predict the tier list way too early. We need to be prepared.

I'll get the M.R.E.s ready. :)

Well, the forums..scratch that, Smashboards will be dead on release. People will play Brawl till their eyes are popped out(me)and until they unlocked everything they know. Depending on how you play, it can take a week or a month. Once everyone is done that, n00b patroling and floods of threads will become. Spoiler tags(yes I read what Mic said)and everything. I really can't wait. I am gonna druel on the laminate, take it off, read the instruction Booklet, put the disk in, Headbang to the new starting music, and maybe pee myself while doing it. It is gonna be a great time and I don't think they will disappoint us. And of course, I will look for my Tingle!

If only there was some sort of "noobs come here to be dumb" board. If we could get one of those then they yell about spoilers on that board.

1. Everyone posts something along the lines of "I HAVE BRAWL!!!!!!!!", some include pictures.
2. Board is deserted for two days.
3. Everyone makes thread titled "WHO IS THIS GUY!?!?!?!?" after unlocking WTF character.
4. Afterglow.
5. ?????
6. Profit!

Thats rare on any forums.

I'm not going on these forums when brawl comes out I don't want anny secret characters spoiled
I will be, its not like my living room TV is mine only so I'm going to have to stop sooner or later. And since I'll still have school I have to do homework and want to take a nap etc.

assuming Brawl will have online capabilities, then undoubtfully , people will be starting online tournaments of some sort
I'll be on that train also, I want to actually get good at this game unlike others that I've played.

If only there was some sort of "noobs come here to be dumb" board. If we could get one of those then they yell about spoilers on that board.
Almost every general board has "noobs that come to be dumb" you will see a surge of them in the winter season.

I don't think anyone will be her when brawl comes out will for the first day
A number of mods will, I'm guessing not all of them are avid gamers. I'll also be on here to try and keep some peace myself. And see what people are doing.

I missed where your opinion on the thread was there...

Undoubtedly there will probably be someone who gets it earlier than everyone else. I have been to target on multiple occasions and they will have things on the rack, for sale, that will have the release date on the cover and that item hasn't even come out yet. Someone, somewhere will get it before everyone else.

We can only pray that they are a SWF user...

Ah, mine was more so hidden within all of those.

-There will be a bunch of noobs that will join the boards in the winter season and there will be a surge of stupidity.
-I will be on the boards, not as much as I usually am. But I am not going to be tweaking on my Wii.
-There will be others on the board as well as some mods have to keep moderating. And if I am correct some of them aren't even avid/hardcore gamers like some of us here are led to believe.

I wish there would be a way to find out how to unlock the characters without knowing who you'll unlock. I dont want them to be spoiled, but I also dont want to run through 15 minute melee, and jump over every single flag in adventure mode just to make sure I have everything. There should be a forums announcement the day it comes out for people like me who won't dare to step into the Brawl boards unless they know that they have everything.

Here's what I see

"ZOHMYGOSH!!! IS THIS CHARACTER UNLOCKABLE??!! IF SO, HOW DO YOU DO IT?!?!"

*all this directed at people who deceptively say that they have already unlocked everything* LOLZORZ

Well Creo I wouldn't exactly say for this board to be dead, in fact I believe it will get so crowded with noobs the next day after it's release that we will definetly reach a new record of people that will likely be over 1000!!, I definetly will be on to say how the game turns out, and I believe lot will do the same

Why would they all leave just because they don't like Brawl? If they come here to talk about Melee now, why wouldn't they still come to talk Melee after Brawl is released?

The brawl section will be expanded to look like the Melee section of the boards and the entire place will be flooded like hell and run poorly for a month.
Ah, yes I forgot to include the expansion of all the.. character specific parts... Maybe all the mods will get their hands on a list and be able to make one for each :p

I'll miss how simple it is now when that day comes.. Be clicking everywhere...

Same here. But I'm buying Nintendo
s guide the day it comes out so I can get everything as fast as possible. Too bad I'll have to spoil everything for myself.

As far as my experience works with sequels to huge titles coming out, I can predict a vocal minority of Melee/64 fans will hate Brawl at first. It always happens. You can't please everyone, and the people who are angry will be very vocal about it. Especially if wavedashing isn't in Brawl.

But given time, people will realize that Brawl is better in different ways, and is its own game in its respect. Or they'll realize its just an expansion pack to Melee. One way or another, the boards will split with the vast majority of veterans and a huge influx of newcomers migrating to Brawl, and a few vets/newcomers sticking to only Melee and/or 64.

God forbid wavedashing isn't in brawl...there will be riots i say!!!

<_<

>_>

uhh, i think a lot of veterans are going to graduate out of the system when brawl is out for a bit a.k.a. there is going to be a new generation, noobs, scrubs and people who do one line posts. They're gunna need someone there to slap them in the neck when they aint actin right. In reality its going to be a test of nerve to pretty much eveyone who's attained journeyman status by the time brawl gets released. But we will have to endure it, at least we'll have brawl to hold us...i mean play.
