Will you stop playing Project M now?

Some of my friends are done with Project M since the trailer for SSBWU was released. This is very sad. It's hard to argue with them, since project m will probably be finished around the time the new smash bros is. T_T
When the new smash does come out, will you move on or will you stay will project m?

Depends which one is more fun. I would rather play as Megaman (and hopefully Lloyd Irving) in a refined and good brawl environment than Brawl characters in a melee environment. If Smash 4 has similar problems that brawl had, I'll keep Project M going for years to come (AKA until someone makes a mod to turn smash 4 into a playable game)

If smash 4 is competetive and fun, I would switch over to that. Right now it's looking kind of like brawlish physics with combos, so I'm not sure what to think. If it's just fun(which it's bound to be) then I will keep to project M for competetive play.

I will play both (and maybe some of the older games on the side) because I enjoy every smash game.

I don't know why one would stop playing a game that is actually happening right now (even though it's a demo) because of a game that will come out in at least a year, lol. That is ridiculous.

Have to agree with the above post, it seems ridiculous that your friends won't play P:M anymore due to a trailer that released yesterday for a game that probably won't be out until Q2-Q3 2014? P:M is current and gets updated, I think your friends are just overtaken by the hype for SSBU, they'll be back.

And to answer your question, I'll probably play both. No reason to let a new game kill the vibe of another, I love P:M cause it's a community created mod that's excellent and I'll love SSBU cause it's a new Smash and a fresh experience.

Of course not. One, because I don't plan on buying a next gen console for a long while, let alone the Wii U; two, P:M would still remain fun as hell and the release of Smash 4 doesn't take away from that; and three, I still think P:M will be a better game, because it's being made by Smash players who are actively listening to feedback and changing it for the better. Abandoning P:M completely for Smash 4 for would be like a spit in the face to the PMBR for all their hard work. Also, at least the PMBR doesn't (usually) troll the fanbase. Wii Fit Trainer? Hello? Bayonetta would've been a much more hype reveal.

Also, Project M will give me this Samus.

Smash 4 gives me this version.

No contest.

I'm sticking to PM. No sense in spending hundreds on a console I'll only ever own+play one game on, and something that's most likely not going to be competitive, since the creator himself never intended the game to be competitive, and said himself that he resented the competitive scene.

What I would like to see is some smash 4 chars put into PM, maybe in a second PM installment or if the final version doesn't come out til after smash 4 an update to the game

I can see actually a bunch of people switching to PM for competitive play if Smash 4 keeps the brawl like physics.
Yeah I will play it and it will be fun to be Megaman, or drop a tree on someone with Villager but I am not going to give up PM makes no sense.

Game looks wholly underwhelming thus far. A lot of animations look like they took away good frame data in favour of having longer, more "fluid" attacks. Going to be sticking with PM and GG for my fighting fix for a while.

Smash 4 gives me this version.

At least that suit looks like it's feasible to move in and doesn't have WUBWUB DO THE DEW HALO QUICK SCOPE shoulders.

We all know the most hype "wtf" so to say reveals would have been Yoshimitsu and Travis Touchdown.

The suit is supposed to be bulky, shoulders and all. But hey, at least you didn't mention the crotch plate.

Speaking of appearances, it's so weird seeing Bowser run and walk upright in Smash.

I'm not quite on the same page. At the very least, Mario's forward-air looks a lot faster and less drawn-out (though more exaggerated with the slash graphic) in 4 than in Brawl.

I will keep playing both Melee and PM but I will also try out Smash 4. If the game is good, I will have 3 Smash games to play.

I actually like Samus' Smash 4 design a hell of a lot better. If someone makes a texture hack for Samus that mirrors this, I'm going to take it 100% over the current version.

Gonna have to agree with Juushichi. Smash 4's Samus looks much better than Brawl's.

As for P:M, honestly, I just might stop playing it. I've had fairly a good amount of fun with it, but I just can't get my friends to ever practice in it enough for things to be fun with all of us without me dying a lot intentionally or just outright ****** them all mercilessly. We had more fun together when we played B+ or Minus or even vBrawl. Plus, the lack of how much customization I can do really kills things for me with P:M. I'm starting to really miss using and making PSAs or being able to use custom outfits that don't automatically freeze cause of P:M's changes in coding unless I shrink every texture in the outfit and maybe even in the FitMotionEtc or elsewhere.

I honestly feel like my learning about the competitive scene and how to play in it over the past few years has been a bit of a waste of time. I'm definitely better at the game, especially in P:M, but things aren't as fun as they used to be. :<

Besides, I'm not one who plays old iterations of games once the new one comes out. I'll be completely done with Brawl in general when Smash 4 is actually out. They'd have to really screw up the game for me to reconsider that. That, or another major breakthrough in hacking has to happen.

...That, or I change my mind and stick with P:M after all. I do love all of the characters and how they play in it. XD

Maybe I'm just getting bad memories since Other M Samus' character is so terrible, that every time I see that suit....

Smash 4 will have to be freaking amazing from a competitive standpoint to get me to switch. As it stands right now, no wired controllers, no Gamecube style controllers, and no guarantee on competitive soundness, is enough stop me from buying Smash 4, let alone switching to it over P:M.

Sakurai will forever be the epitome of my toilet flushing.

Project M > Smash 4.

I also have AH3, KoF, AE, TTT2, the entirety of GGPO and others that will keep me fixed for a long time.
Also, no one honestly wanted that feminine, transparent as **** face in the game. I'm willing to place bets on Sakurai wanting that ho'.

Honestly, I'd probably drop Brawl, competitively at least, not P:M. Smash 4 looks to be more similar to Brawl than Melee from the very small amount of info we have, and if that's the case, playing both Brawl and SSB4 would seem redundant. I'll always love ALL the Smash games, I don't know the last time I've been so hyped.

(P.S. Mega Man I love you pls have my babies)

I'll have to play you in Arcana Heart sometime. Who do you use? I jump around from Evil!Clarice and Luck/Wind!Akane.

And Samus's new suit looks better to be because the point of her Varia Suit is to improve her flexibility, stamina, and maneuverability. It wasn't bulky in Super Metroid or anything outside of Prime and Brawl really, so it having a smoother design that looks like it has parts meant to fold is a big improvement over that Optimus Prime thing she has going on in, well, Metroid Prime.

Just by judging from the footage? No, because Smash 4 has Brawl airdodging and looks super floaty; I don't intend on purchasing a Wii U and Smash 4 until I play it for myself.

Even If you wanted this suit im 100% sure someone will make a texture of it for samus...Hell im pretty sure if you go to KC-MM right now you'll see texture's like
"Smash 4 Battlefield" and stuff like that.
One thing about Project M is that it's almost completely Customizable..
Good fast game play. TON'S of different level's designs and recolors, TON'S of different Character textures,Any music you want, new options like Stock control, counter pick, and turbo(3.0), hell you can even change how the CSS looks
Thanks to the hacking community for brawl and all of this is free im pretty sure Smash 4 will end up having Dlc for just alittle bit when there;s TONS here
And if project M wanted(although i doubt this will happen) The team can make other characters for Project..like megaman...
Where im getting at is Project M is probably going be the best Smash game when fully out...do to just all the stuff you can do with it to change it up when it starts looking dull and the game play is amazing for both competitive and causal
Why switch to a game with gameply not as good and you'll probably have to pay for not even half of the amount of stuff Project M(brawl) can have?

Unless the PM backroom can mod Smash 4 to make it fun I'm sticking with PM through thick and thin. After 4 or so years of waiting and testing and fun Sakurai won't sway me with better graphics and ??? (BF looks amazing though...)

This game is better in everyway but graphics.

At the point Smash 4 is released? Yes, I will stop playing P:M. At least until I get the urge to run back through the old games for old times sake.

I play games based on their merit rather than their publishing date. I'll give Smash 4 a shot, but I'll likely return to Project M. It's extremely unlikely Nintendo is capable of making anything comparable to the extremely well-oiled machine that Project M has become and will continue working toward.

Arcana 3 is really fun. I can't wait for Love Heart Fumoffu Baka ****** Asshole edition. It's in arcades atm.

I was playing Evil/Tyr/Time Konoha when I played the most.

It's going to take more then two games for me to purchase that WiiU

The other being Mario Kart.

Everything I wanted to say has already been said in this thread, but to get an idea...

It looks cool and all, but the customization of P:M is just out the wazoo. I mean do you know how nice it is to personally pick out every BRSTM and rename them to your liking is?

Feels good man, feels good.

Melee and 64 are played to this day so I'm not sure why people are so worried that everyone will just drop P:M when Smash 4 comes out. The PMBR is committed to making a fun, fast and balanced competitive smash game, which we can't guarantee will be provided by Smash 4. Also, to those of you worried about us losing the "new" factor, realize we still have many surprises in store for future releases.

That said, I'm looking forward to Smash 4 and will likely play both.

Why does it have to be an either/or thing? People can't play and enjoy both?

I really hope they make a project m for smash 4. But I think making some sort of announcement, or any info on project m at the moment, would hype the project m fans. I foresee all of my friends, except like 2, moving to smash 4. I didn't want to move to brawl, but I had to. ><; When my friends go to the new smash, that's pretty much it for project m for me. That's why I really hope I get to play with all the characters before Smash 4 releases... Honestly, if we can start cracking the Wii U now, we could get to hacking the newest smash sooner.

Of course I'm gonna stop playing project m, why would I waist my time with that rubbish when I can spend over 250$ on a ****ty system and another 40$ on a game that is just gonna be a worse version of pm anyways.

In all honesty PM is probably going to be a better game than Smash 4. Either way, it's not like Smash 4 being released in like a year means PM isn't fun anymore.

Considering she IS a heavy weight, and she's not as agile and flexible in gameplay as someone like Fox, the bulky suit makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I can see how sleek it is, but Samus just looks odd everytime she wears it. She always just stands around awkwardly with no real gravitas to her stance, something she doesn't do with the old Varia suit for whatever reason. Brawl Samus looks like she's saying "Bring it the **** on", Smash 4 is like she's posing for Vogue, or just walked in and is like "Wut...?" EVERY TIME I see the suit. Looking at it outside of that though, I'm starting to warm up to it a bit, plus It looks like they're ripping nimations directly from old games, except for Bowser's non-hunchback self. Anyway, enough of my petty suit ********.

Hey, if Smash 4 makes her more agile, I would be cool with it. For instance, I always wanted a better roll. And there's always P:M.
