Why is smash bros. the 'gayest' gaming community?

I get the same feeling of annoyance whenever someone posts any of those words as a reply to any of my posts as if someone typed 'tl;dr' or 'cool story bro'
Well in the Gears of War forums, this is pretty much how everything is. It isn't civil at all, and nobody cares about anyone. Everytime there's a post, there is always a second guy that comes up and posts "cool story bro" and leaves. It's almost worse than Failblog and the "is he dead?!" nonsense.

Here, the forums are more civil, and everybody knows each other because they see each other face to face in tournaments. If anything, Halo and Gears have a gayer community, since all anyone ever talks about is ****** other family members, while they proceed to crouch on a dead corpse.

We have taunts.

You guys have never seen my face in a tourney. But alas, you probably won't unless I start improving my game.

I'm sure most of the people don't act like this IRL anyways. In fact, they are probably a bit of an opposite to there internet counter part.

I hope your name is "Twin Kat GC" and not "Twink At GC", because that would be a great example for the OP.

Imo, Smash is 'gay' because it's a game filled with a bunch of Nintendo characters (Mario and the like who you'd normally associate kids playing those kind of games with) blah blah blah
oi, ever heard of super mario all stars?

I <3 you all and this community.
So get ***** :mad088:
And The Zelda Social thread is the gay bar of this website. FYI

*Serious Post*

Why does it get on your nerves that we like to joke around and form friendships here? A lot of people here know other people in real life as well, so relationships here can be very close. Joking around saying "I <3 you" really shouldnt be an issue. Oh, and people here might feel more comfortable coming out here because we are friendly towards each other for the most part. Gay people are not "attracted" to this game. People are, and feel comfortable coming out here cus we are cool. Sorry, I felt like rambling for a bit.

@ Above;

and for the last time im not caring about the community being gay... its the response in peoples posts to just about anything.

Like for example, I can post a tier list with Ness above lucas, and sure enough some random Ness main will come in and say 'I love you'. If you start to lose any argument on here, the inevitable reply is 'get *****'. Try to discuss matchups, 'this is our advantage because we can play gay' and leave it at that. It severely diminishes to quality of any debate imo, I get the same feeling of annoyance whenever someone posts any of those words as a reply to any of my posts as if someone typed 'tl;dr' or 'cool story bro'
Although this blog as turned out pretty well. It was set out as a question and many of the replies have done a good job in answering it :)
Answers your post I think...

Because the community was formed offline and not online like others. People are closer, but dumber too. Hence the gay community we have now.

Actually, i also wondered when i was a lurker why Lucario's kept doing <3, or huggies, or even "why am i so gay for you?".... It was a little disturbing at first.
