My girlfriend plays Pikachu.

She's trying to be as good as Axe.

I'm kinda jealous. :c

Girls do play melee but since there aren't that many girl players to begin with we don't really see them that often. I see like one or two girl's at each smash tournament I go to though.

I introduced a couple girls to Melee, they all play Pikachu or Kirby and don't know how to recover.

Personally I can't wait until someone comes in and goes "LOL BUT YOU CAN HAVE MELEE SETUPS IN THE KITCHEN," entirely missing the point of the joke and the :troll: afterward.

we have 2 chicks in upstate that play

and lmao, ditto on the "girls dont have hobbies" thing
Dude, it's true. Girls don't have hobbies. If there ever IS a girl that has a hobby, it's because they were raised in a unique/different environment than the average girl.

Traits you'll see in every girl: avid shopper, socialite, casual music critic/listener, media consumer. That's about it. It's hard enough to find girls that enjoy playing video games casually, let alone competitively.

It's all about the way girls have developed and grown up.

Nicole is pretty legit and actually gets into international brackets, but she plays Brawl. As far as Melee goes, HaileyM almost beat Lucky at ROM3 and LadyLegion got 4th Seed at Pound 4 (2nd Round Pools).

Like what above posters said, most chicks brought up "traditionally" aren't into games.

Maybe if Melee had more good looking guys, we'd get more to come. :awesome:

Girls generally don't have hobbies. Show me cases where they do.
Well, taking a look at my family, my sister's hobbies are tennis and photography, and my mother's hobbies are cooking and knitting (yeah typical housewife stuff, don't laugh >_>).

The only reason I can think of for people in this thread saying that is that when guys think of "hobbies", they tend to think of either sports or games. Girls often have hobbies that fall under the "creative" category. This is the only explanation I can think of, because I know gaming nerds are often socially awkward and everything, but I'm pretty sure smashers aren't THIS ignorant of the opposite sex.

Shout-outs to HaileyM, best female Melee player, taking Lucky to Game 3 at RoM3 Pools, almost taking him out of 1st Seed, in the most hype set of the entire weekend.

LOL @ girls not having hobbies. Are you guys ****ing kidding me?
Yeah apparently they're some kind of different species that just do random stuff all the time.

I'm pretty sure anything someone does regularly and enjoys is a hobby guys.

Girls really like shopping.

Edit: Twist I don't think there's anyway of saying "no homo" after that post...

Apparently Smashers are stuck in the 1920s, and think girls are content with sitting around and looking pretty in their free time. I guess rhan and I don't understand what girls REALLY enjoy. Silly us.

I don't think of just sports or games. I consider the things you listed as hobbies. It's just that most girls I know don't have serious hobbies, just minor interests. How many girls do you honestly know that play tennis, are very active in photography, cooking, knitting, poetry, or music? I'm an avid poet myself, and I write and make music all the time. I have a multitude of hobbies. I don't see women very active with hobbies very often.

I'm not ignorant of the opposite sex at all. I just really don't
