Finally, somebody who gets it.
And I also agree that this election is a light at the end of the tunnel. I see Obama as the train heading our way to kill this country, and I see McCain as a continuation of the track in (mostly) the right direction.
I have to admit, Im turning 18 on Monday, so this will be my 1st election coming up, and o boy a big one it is.

I like a lot of things Obama says, but at the same time a see a lot of a classic trick. The good old"I'm going to say what you want to hear, no matter what". 1st, it was "we need change". Then, it was "Ill have the soldiers out of iraq in 2years"(Like there wont any reprocussions in THAT move :dizzy:). Lastly, He starts saying how he is going to be the oil savior, punish the companies(a socialist atttude btw) and make things more energy efficient. Wait a minute, what about the war? All of a sudden its like there is no war anymore. Gee, isnt it amazing how things disappear overnight:laugh:.

Anyway, I like his alternate energy ideas. Im one who thinks we need more energy alternates instead of more oil wells. Mother Earth doesnt have much oil left, and the environment will suffer.

I like McCain because he doesnt change his stance. The Surge worked wonders. Also, in a speech, he really gripped me with these words(Not 100% exact quote) "I may make decisions people wont like, but they will help this country in the longrun" OMG, a government official that realizes that his job is not to win a popularity contest!!!!

Im leaning toward McCain right now, but Ill have to see all the details from both sides before I decide.

Ah, at least America's minimum wage isn't starve money. Otherwise...

Do you smell that? Yeah, that's a building on fire.

I see no problem if you don't want to say the pledge, it's your choice, and you shouldn't be forced to recite something you don't believe. But whatIdo have a problem with is when those same people live double standards.

People are quick to attack this country, but if given the choice to live else where, most of them would remain here. I'm not saying any of you are those kind of people, but alot of these people have never been anywhere outside the U.S. In the U.S. we have so many opportunities, no matter how corrpupt some of our leaders may be. There's a reason why so many people are constantly coming to America from other countries.

Sure we have our faults, but if you go to almost any other government, they will have corrupt people in high places. It's just going to happen. Im sure if you moved to another country, that you thought was fine, after living there for a whlie, you'd come to realize that it's just the same as the U.S.

Sorry if this was already stated before, I had little time to read through the whole thread. (Sorry Blazed, I know you hate it when people do this :p)
So since other countries governments aren't great either, then the US should be impervious to criticism? Despite the fact that i might not want to live anywhere else, I should still be allowed to criticize policy right? Or does that make me a left wing nut? Honestly, I have hope for this country because it was founded on such solid grounds, and so i criticize because i want to see things better than they are now. Or do you think that this spying on citizens and going to war for questionable reasons is the best direction? 'Land of the free' right? America, imo, has the most solid foundations of any government, but I don't like where it is going.

In short, America has hope for improvement, but nothing ever happens unless someone says something.

I'm not sure you can actually live off of minimum wage in here so it technically would be starve money. Of course in here if you don't earn enough to support your self you end up getting food stamps and Medicaid

This country is good in all but some people just really hate some of the recent choices. Like someone from Iraq probably wouldn't want to stand up for the pledge and no one should force them to or scream at them for not agree with the choice of one man.

Also I always hear people saying if you don't like this country leave too, but a lot of them know that this country is still better how ever when its using its power to control other countries a lot of people won't agree with it even if its not the majority.
