I remember hearing about a indie RPG about school shootings a while back. The difference between that and this?

The RPG was made to educate and to try and prevent such things from happening again. This? This was made by someone who needs to get punched.

And this is why video games are constantly under fire from the media and "professionals".

Sadly dumb ***** like whoever is making this is the reason why crap like the other thread about the gril using samus as her role model is ignored

haters are always gonna hate. Honestly no matter what anyone does the media will never shut up about video games being bad anyway. Besides, idk why anyone would take the media seriously anyway. Frankly, a lot of movies can be much much worse than video games.

Even books can describe some very "questionable" situations.
The thing that separates books and movies from the judgment that games get is because they're considered an "acceptable" medium while games are looked down upon as being "childish" and "incapable of relaying the human experience."

Just gonna say that looking many of my friends at the end of Mass Effect 2 because I ****ed up not only had a bigger impact on me than anything I've ever read or seen, but also made me aware of exactly how humanly flawed I am.

I kinda feel like that in Dragon Age, like I was mainly playing as an "evil" character, I would make the bad decisions but I would feel like such a jerk for doing it. Which is why I'll probably play through it a 2nd time.

I usually don't follow the preset paths in WRPGs (especially Bioware games). My first time through I play as myself to the extent that the game lets me in order to feel like I really have gone to another world. I think the fact that I was doing everything I would do it really made the impact of suddenly losing my companions in ME2.

Especially how their deaths are so sudden to the point where you don't even have time to mourn. No last words, no time to say goodbye, just death.

What do you mean by pre-set? There technically isn't a good or evil in dragon age that's why I put the quotes around it. The deaths are really sudden though, and there's like nothing you can do either which is sad. Mass Effect 2 was a really good game.

I mean preset as in "Don't think about what you're saying, just jam the control stick stright to the paragon/renegade option." Whenever I played a Bioware RPG I choose the closest option what what I would choose in that situation.

The media will quite simply never grasp the concept that video games as a whole have evolved past the days of little kids playing Super Mario Bros on their NES's.

But this mod is absolutely disgusting, distasteful, and completely unnecessary. The creators of this deserve to get a good beat down.

Yeah, this mod is unneeded. At least the Columbine game had some artistic value.

Bu the funny thing about the media crying about kids getting GTA, etc is that if parents (and stores, actually) actually did their jobs, kids wouldn't get those games.

There are just some things you just don't touch. Perhaps later down the line, when everything is said and done. It's why there are games based on the World Wars, strategy cames on Civil War, etc. Then again, you don't see a game where you play a Nazi side, and are ordered to kill off thousands of Jews.

I think it would be neat to see an experimental game that included something like school shootings as a mission or something, but it's too much of a sensitive topic right now.
