who plays the most entertaining floatie? (serious topic)

alright, this is a serious topic. the last one wasnt so im trying to raise the level of seriousness for my future topics and here we go. please dont spam or write stupid posts since the thread title allows only serious posts.

nowadays we only get entertained by stylish fox/falco players with shield pressure and shineturnaround wavelands but lets take a look at the floaties. they have also the potential to be played very creative and with a lot of style and few people pay attention to them but they sure deserve more respect. there are 3 different floaties in super smash brothers melee: jigglypuff, luigi and peach.

i dont think jigglypuff can be played with much entertainment and also luigi is not so good. my favorite floatie definately is armadas peach. he is so crazy fast, the character looks like a fastfaller when played by armada and its so crazy what kind of techskill he has. and the combos are ridicilous and require mindgames that only armada can have. but also armada has an extremely nice luigi. the one where he played against ajp_anton and made such insane reads which i havent seen yet and is better than any other luigi. so to sum up: my favorite floatie player is armada with peach. if i have to vote for luigi as well i would say armada too. i wouldnt vote for jigglypuff since jigglypuff cannot be played in an entertaining way just cheap and lame and without skill.

axe doesnt play floaties, he plays pikachu und falco. and hungrybox seems to be bad in teams because he cannot rely on his cheap stuff that works in every situation. instead he gets usmashed by fox for being predictable. but i agree with the part about armada.

i guess it was only entertaining to you because youre a biased mango fanboy. however i did enjoy the first game of genesis winners finals and the third of grand finals (first set) because mango didnt get so lucky with his rests and uairs there.

because the type of turnip peach gets isn't even relatively luck based at all.

1st thought before I looked at this thread I thought peach is the funnest floaty to watch unless peach wins. I enjoy matchs where hse loses i've sit down and even watch matches that seriously take over 8 minutes watching peach die I enjoy.

if Charlesz's posts you should argee with all of it. Pikachu isn't a FFer and is closer to a floaty than he is a FFer.


Stopping useing the word cheap and skilless stop b****ing about how much armada f***ing sucks that he can't even beat a charcter that's uber slow, terrible ground game, death from sheild break, no projectiles+slow=easy to camp, no grab combos in most matches, super light, lacks approach, gets F***ed up so hard from upward kills it isn't even funny. it sounds pretty skillful to deal with all these problems so well that someone can b**** all day about it but never once figure out how to play as good him/herself.

Hungrybox is incredible he still mngers to win even with people like you trying to cut him down. H-box is the 2nd best and is still getting better I predict a case like M2K where people start cheering against him and it f***s him up and he slowly drops down from 2nd best to like 5th and just comes for the money.

H-box i'll f*** you up with my pichu and if this guy is right about puff taking like a 1/4 of the sstock as pichu and it's a 20-80 match-up in my book I guess i'm he better player f I take a stock.

You make me sick you know that? I hate liars. I checked in slow mo melee I got 5 different faces in 20 tests of pressing down-B on the 1st frame. there's a chance of 1/300 of pulling out an idea like beam swords, mr. saturn and bomb omb.

Slightly off topic, but what is the general consensus on which characters are floaties and which are fast-fallers?

As far as I can tell, everyone agrees that fox, falco, and falcon are fast-fallers, but is DK considered to be in this group? Same goes for floaties, with peach jiggs being clearly under the floaty category but beyond that it is a bit grey with ice climbers, mario etc.

Also is there a third group that encompasses the center of the falling speed rankings? I mean it's hard to say if marth is a floaty or a fast faller since neither accurately describes his falling speed.

I have a theory about why he isn't banned. I suspect that the mods don't want to knowledge his presence on smashboards. It definitely isn't because they haven't seen his posts. It definitely isn't because they don't think he deserves it (although he might be following all the rules, just not in spirit). They're dealing with him as one should deal with an 8 year old, ignore him till he shuts up.

I'm thinking of making bets on how many posts he gets to before he gets banned. I'll put 10 dollars (Canadian) on greater than 200.

You cant make a bet like that unless you have some sort of limit to it. As of right now your bet encompasses literally in infinite amount of posts just as long as its over 200. If i were to bet he makes it over 300 and he does which one of us is the winner?

Well the bets would be just individual, if it's lower than 200 then whoever takes the bet would win, there's just the one number (which could change depending on negotiation). Either way I wouldn't actually be able to/be willing to pay, I'm pretty far from everybody and I never go to the US.

I'm willing to bet that it's lower than 300. Since I'm also willing to not pay, I will propose the amount to be one million dollars.

It's pretty ******** how it all goes down with banning and junk.I was banned from the kirby bans and yeah i've seen the messages : P but I had a meaningful post to help someone every third post and the rest was bashing kirby and piaseing pichu for his nair isclearly greater than kirby as a charcter. Also i'm amazed i'm not banned all the time from all the pichu s***. Also pichu>kirby but under current metagame kirby should be higher simplely because he's easy to play and people don't know what's up with people like no really good pichus that KNOW what they're doing forgive me world.
