My friend and I are going to play doubles but he pretty much exclusively only plays Ganondorf. What are characters you'd say team well with him?

The only thing better than :4ganondorf:

is two :4ganondorf:, frankly.
:seuss:

That and maybe Link and Falco seem decent for ganon, since i see you use them ;3. Anyone with a projectile and consistent combo game is always needed. I guess anyone is good with Ganon now i think about it. huh...

I don't have much doubles experience, but Pikachu and Ike seem like good partners. Their Fthrow and Bthrow tend to send an opponent at a perfect angle to combo into a partner's smash, and who better to deliver that smash than Ganon?

Ganon is a good teamate in any team imo. Not many characters can take advantage of "free hitstun" as well as he can (an opponent being sent your way). Then we have the Ganoncide which is a lot easier to land in teams than singles. He's also a beast at 2on1 Combos. The team that has worked the best in my experience, when teaming, is Ganon & Mac. It's a Meat Fest. Ganon dominating the air/offstage while Mac is dominating the ground.

How about :4pacman:? His trampoline can help him back up, should Pac-Man be nearby if/when Dorf fails to recover. Oh wait, he's probably more of a good FG Teams partner, since Trampoline can actually hit Dorf on the way up if friendly fire is on. Whoops. >.< At least he can help with breaking through campsites, and if his Power Pellet's hit, it'll be on the floor, ready to provide some health to whoever can get to it 1st.

Maybe :4duckhunt:? He's great at traversing through campsites, which Dorf does have a problem breaking through. While the dog may have trouble KO-ing folks, he's great at building damage, and Dorf can supply the KO power in spades.

While :4morton:'s Side B Jump Cancel juggles make for fantastic damage building powers, his Up 1/2 & Default/Impatient Mechas will get in the way sometimes... Perhaps him using Up 3 and Big Mechas will be good for not hitting Dorf?

I definitely recall AceStarThe3rd suggesting :4wiifit:as a good partner for him here.

Doc. His main range problem is balanced out by Dorf's beautiful range. Both can kill well and rack up damage quickly, with doc having his regular/fast capsule setting up hits for ganon or interrupting other peoples moves.

I think we may be seeing the first game where Ganon and Link can actually be a solid combo, as long as they know how to play their characters and work their strengths.

Besides Link's recent dthrow>utilt/usmash/uair/fair buff, and situational dropkick shenanigans, he has very weird zoning/spacing needs and isn't the best at stopping quick enemies who can circumvent his varied projectiles, while Ganon thrives on opponents coming to him, but doesn't have his own projectiles for gimping, racking, or forcing approaches. As long as Link is smart and exercises discretion while throwing out his projectiles, I think this can work well.

Not sure about effectiveness, but I have a ton of fun when I'm on a team with Pacman. Love the hydrant shenanigans.

On a more serious note, the best teammate I've found to play with is a Link. Really balances the characters out nicely.

Personal experience would have me suggest :4zss: as a Doubles partner for Ganondorf, though I've seen Ganon players succeed just as much when paired with :4falcon:.

I love playing with :4robinm: and :4ryu: as well.

Fair warning: anyone guilty of suggesting a non-Ganon doubles partner will be banned within the next hour if their post is not edited to reflec the reality that Ganon is the only reasonable doubles partner for Ganon.

...I hear Ganon is good for doubles.

But after that, Sheik, ROB, Toon Link are other characters I have had really good success with. Pika would probably be awesome too. Any mobile character that creates openings easy is just gravy for ganon who can get crazy mileage out of any opening.

Sheik/Ganon in particular is really dumb.

I have a friend who plays falcon and we make a pretty great team, usually he throws people to me and I do aerials and we kick ass, it´s also really easy to save eachother with Uspecials.

Highlight was a team combo where I got a choke, he falcon punched me and our victim, but super armor so whatever, then the punk teched behind me, so I jumped up, as my friend raptor boosted him into my lethal bair

I've had the most fun teaming as :4ganondorf: with :4bowser:. Who needs speed when you have so much power?

Also, obligatory :4ganondorf::4ganondorf: recommendation.

Two Ganondorfs. That is the right answer

On Doubles, Ganon is the "kill character", the one who brutally finishes the job with a well-put attack, since most of our moves kills pretty early. On some friendlies, I paired up with Lucario, Mario and MK and, between the three, Mario was the best pick, since he can build the damage while one covers the weakness of the other (Kill move and gimp for Mario, projectile-game and approach for Ganon). Theory-wise, I think the two characters that we would benefit a lot are Falco and Shiek, since they can do some nice stuff in the air while Ganondorf moves for the kill.

Ganon is a executioner in doubles,He's there to end stocks and intimidate your opponents.Doubles forces people to be a bit more reckless.Ganon's best partners will be anyone who can stack up damage, set up to his aerials or smashes, or exceed more pressure.
:4shulk:: Speed for stage coverage and Buster for combo set ups
:4ganondorf:: What's better than 1 walking apocalypse? 2 walking apocalypse.
:4mario:: Well rounded move set + Ganon's power causes extreme pressure in any situation
:4sheik:: How do you make the best character better?Give her more kill options AKA Ganon

You know what they say is more terrifying than Ganondorf?

Two of them

Also, my friend and I have always used Falcon+Ganondorf and I think it works pretty well. It's a really fun and hype too.

I'm currently trying the combo Ganondorf Villager combo. While I am a C.Falcon main...what I can contribute is...
what villager brings to the table is a pretty solid projectile game. He can save the dorf due to poor recovery. Pros behind the team...
+Forces Opponents to either move close to villager to stop him or move away from villager in a result leads to them getting Murdered by ganon.
+Ganon can space pretty well with his F-air.
Both have great kill power, both can live for a while. Due to Ganon's weight and Villagers OP recovery
