Lvl (its not "level", its "laughing very loudly", I figured I'd invent one just cuz i can). Thanks for posting that link Proverbs. That made my day. I wanna add another scenario that requires a taunt. If you break someone's shield w/ shieldbreaker, its a federal offense not to taunt.:)

Oh hell yeah. Try spamming Wario's down taunt and see how it goes:

"Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa! Wa-wa-wa!" :chuckle:
I personally prefer his utaunt, it is annoying beyond belief.

I do something called a taunt combo. I only do it on star KO's because it's sorta long. Do the down taunt (melee) then do an up taunt, and it should look like a fluid motion. It's pretty awesome!

That's not a bad idea, actually. Not the federal offense part, but what if you taunted right after breaking your opponent's shield and THEN fully charged tipped f-smashed them to destruction. Wow that'd be the most frustrating things EVER.

This should totally be done in tournaments. It'd drive them insane. I know I'd be incredibly frustrated, especially if I was around 50% or so when I died.

Doing something like this is a HUGE insult.

Edit: Guh...I hate that abbreviation. Sorry, I thoroughly dislike swearing and regard it as not only offensive, but wrong. It is always necessary for me to comment. <--All in reference to the first thing said in Backlash's post.

"ninameatetegrey" has to be my favorite taunt with marth.

On the side topic of taunts being annoying, if you time it properly, you can taunt 7 times with GaW before your opponent can attempt to make it back to the stage, fail and respawn back =3

Gomenasai:(. I just used that abbreviation since i had used lol earlier. Believe it or not, I agree with you. Trust me, I'd actually never say it (kinda like the WTH and other one that won't be typed). Since you mentioned it, I'll edit it. Oh yea, about the sheidbreaker thing, my friend that I fought online broke my shield then taunted proclaiming SERA SMASH!!!, after which he proceeded to full charge shieldbreaker me offstage. Its devastating enough to deflate even the most fortified ego. I felt the virtual sting for weeks and never disrespected the shieldbreaker ever again.

P.S. Being one of those who have some knowledge of the Japanese language, I feel the need to clear up what the down taunt says for those who don't know. It's "minna, miteite kure".

Oh good. And what does it mean? "Everybody, look here"?

I don't use the actual taunt, I just wavedash... Well not actually wavedash, just the input that would make me wavedash if it were melee, so I actually do more of a SH air-dodge as my taunt

It's completely true that taunting is not widespread amongst tournament players, but I just watched a video today featuring Danimals and Lucky that had Lucky taunting every time he killed Danimals. It's true that some people who taunt habitually are of a lower-experience-level, but seriously, stop jumping to conclusions. There's nothing wrong with taunting if you know you're not going to get punished for it.

No. It's just that Lucky uses Sonic. We have a habitual need to let everyone know how slow they are.

You're close. It means "everybody please look". It's kinda like "watch this" or "everybody look at me". Yea, he's an attention hog but his flashy moves deserve attention.:)
I thought it was, "All eyes on me"

Up taunt has invincibility frames or something. I've seen Metaknight go RIGHT through him.
So yeah. Uptaunt ftw.

I personally use the side taunt when I KO and have enough safe time to do so (since it takes so long to finish). It kinda' grew from a habit, and then I started to like it, and then it was my favorite, so yeah... (FYI, still do like the other taunts too...)
