The only thing I don't like about the classic controller is the buton placement. Everything have been moved 1 space counter-clockwise which means adapting to classic from GC will be a hassle.
Well, the button placement is to emulate the SNES controller but with more buttons to cover the ones needed in N64 games and to have more buttons than the GCN controller for classically controlled Wii games (such as this one). Actually, if anything is added to the SSB formula (which is a possibility) the Classic Controller having more buttons could boost its chances...they could still let people use the GCN control and have these new moves replace duplicate buttons or be button combinations.

To get back on the quoted topic...There's a chance that they could have multiple control schemes or customizeable control schemes for the Classic Controller. Like have B be normal attacks and Y be special attacks then maybe pick a button for jump, shield, and grab and then the rest would be duplicates/new moves. Heck, with the Classic Controller all these settings could be saved to your Wii Remote so you wouldn't have to reinput them if you use it on another system. ****...I'm starting to really wish they didn't tie themselves down with all those GCN controller hints >.<.

The GC controller will be used. It is the best way to get people to buy the game if everyone already knows how to play it.

Not really. I was pretty sure the best way to get people to buy a game involved not having to need peripherals that aren't standard to the console.

I myself am an L-shoulder blocker anyway, so when I'm too lazy to be constrained to a cord/am out of working GC controllers (as they break like crazy), I'll probably use the Wii remote and nunchuku combination.

I'm surprised how many people make an issue of the Wii remote controller as not being suited for the game. I mean, there is no mandate saying you have to use the mothion sensors and it isn't as though you don't have all of the nessecary buttons. Its not half-ways uncomfortable either. I'm probably going to use the gamecube controller, but I don't expect to be disadvantaged with the Wii Remote either.

Isnt the GC controller the only one that will be used. Im pretty sure nintendo said that already.........
Yes, you're right. Thanks for telling all these people that are too lazy to research about the game. It's already announced that we WILL be using the GC controller for Brawl.

No, he's not. Mashiro Sakurai said "You might not want to throw away your gamecube controllers just yet." That is far from a confirmation, and if it was a confirmation, it was only that the gamecube controllers would be supported. This thread, which I have followed since its inception, is about what controller would you personally use if you could choose between any of them. Thank you for jumping to conclusions and trusting rumor.

The only thing that's confirmed is that SSBB won't be using motion sensing controls IE it'll still use buttons and control stick(s). Mr. Sakurai's hinted that we shouldn't be too hasty to throw away our GCN controllers but hasn't said anything more about it as though it isn't set into stone.

I would prefer the virtual controller over the GC controller. The GC control stick wears out fast, especially if you play Smash alot. I want a controller that would last.
