I'm sure that if i tried playing with the wiimote, and it was fun then i'd use it more than the regular GC controller.

I'll probably start with the VC controller because I'm a sucker for the SNES and the D-Pad. I love the D-Pad. I figure if it's good enough for Street Fighter II, it's good enough for Brawl.

But if that doesn't work out, it'll be back to GCN for me.

I got a Classic recently for Cube and SNES games and to have one for when Brawl comes out. And the col thing is that when I am navigating the menus, I can use the left control stick unless I pick up the Wiimote and point it at the screen. Then the control reverts to the Wiimote. So! There is a minor advantage to using a classic because you can navigate menus with the Wiimote until the game starts, and then you'll switch to the classic. Just a tiny point of consideration.

I'll still be playing with my trusty Platinum Game Cube Controller. I hope they don't even program the game for use with any other controllers than this one. I want them to focus on that controller and that controller only. I don't think it would work at all with the Wii controller, and the Virtual Console controller like some of you have already said, looks either like the SNES or the Playstation 2 controller, which both look incapable of handling Super Smash Brothers controls. Yeah, Game Cube Controller all the way :)

I'm fairly certain that you're being sarcastic, but I can't be too sure. So just in case, I thought you should know that once, years ago, we played Smash Brother on a controller other than a gamecube controller, and the transition worked well enough then. Chew on that.

Also, handy fact: Unless you are actually trying to snare morons who'll "agree" with you, there is a way to denote sarcasm. You end a sentence with parenthetical exclamation point [(!)].

I'll try every controller available and choose whichever feels best after a few hours of playing with each.

I believe that a game that uses three buttons and a control stick will work with any controller that has three buttons and a control stick.

When I get a wii I'll have to see how the VC controller feels, until I'll stick with GC.

which controller do you think you'll use more for brawl, and which do you think will be the easiest?

Well, i would think that the Gamecube remote controller would be easier than that of the Wii's remote, but then again, all you would have to do with the wii mote would be to turn it sideways like on ExiteTruck and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, and play it like that. But there's no analog stick and not enough buttons, so it's not possible...Unless, you guys are talking about the classic controller? That would be cool to use, but then, you would have to use the Wii Mote, because the classic controller hooks up into the front of the Wii mote, where the nunchuck goes in at. I know this because my uncle has both a Wii and a Classic Controller, and he bought Super Mario Bros. as a virtual console game and played the classic controller. I had a go at it myself. It wasn't shabby, mind you...So in this case, I prefer the Gamecube Controller.

The gamecube controller would definatly be the easiest. If you play Melee, you are used to the controller. If you could use the wii controller, you can pretty much say goodbye to c-sticking. I can't really picture myself grabbing with Z+A, and reaching all the way down to jump with the 1 and 2 buttons...

I will probably stick with the GC controller, but If I can learn to play as well-or better- with the wiimote, then Wiimote FTW!...

I deffinatly vote for the GCN type of controller.
I don't think a Wii controller would enhance, much less match the compatability of the GCN controller.
N64 to GCN is one thing, but GCN to Wii is just too big of a change.

I know it is extremely unlikely, but if the game ended up requiring the nunchaku attachment, I would cry sad, sorrowful tears; as I am physically unable to use that competently.
I've never even touched a VC controller so I don't know how that would work but, in the end I will most likely prefer my trusty gamecube controller. No other controller in existance has fit my hands better.

umm yes it will use nunchuck, how do u think the character will move without nunchuck? (and no it wont use sensibility, in case u think u poin the controller towards a direction and the character will move that way...)

I don't care which one it will use. I love the n64 controller more than the gcn controller, so the Classic Controller would work well...if I had one, anyway.

GCN Controller just sounds boring. This is Smash Bros. Brawl, and deserves another seperate controller.

Also, it takes more than 3 buttons and a control stick. The DS would be able to hold a port of either Melee or Smash, but there's no sensitivity to the D-Pad. That is the only problem.

Anyway, the Wii-Remote and Nunchuck sounds like a lot of fun.

Up your nose.
I would personally prefer the GCN controller, because it's far more comfortable.

Unfortunately, there's no White GCN controllers, so they completely clash with the colour of the Wii. They should re-release new GCN controllers, Wireless, w/ Rumble, and shiny.

I think I'll try out all of the controllers & see which one I'm more confortable with because I'm good with the Gamecube controller and I'm fairly decent with the N64 controller (if you can plug that bad boy into the Wii that is). I have yet to get a Wii controller though so I'll try that out as well. Field test time!! Sweetness!

I think I'll try em all and then decide which one I like best, only thing to do I guess.

Although right now still trying to get used to the wii controller in zelda.

I think the game cube controler would be waaaaaay better
Id like to try both though defintily
but the gamecube controler seems like it would be way more efficent
Old school game cube controller for the win

My Gamecube controllers are all messed up. I'm going to try to adapt to a new controller. I've already worked out how the wii-mote might work for brawl.

A=attack
B=special
Dpad=jump
Control Stick=move (duh)
Z=guard
C=grab
1or2=taunt

I'm definitely gonna be using the GC controller for Brawl.

>.>; The "classic" controller and the Wii-mote look a bit akward.
Okay. I'm sorry for singling you out, but I'm realy sick of this. What makes the Classic Controller awkward?! I have one, and I love it. I've almost stopped playing my Wii games, because I want to use my sexy classic controller for Super MArio 64. IT fits fine in my hands, plays fine as a gamecube controller or N64 controller. The l and R buttons click, the z buttons are more reachable than they loks, the right thumbstick works better than the C stick ever did, I never miss the tiny B button like I did when I was getting used to a Gamecube controller, and all the buttons are generaly spaced enough so that I never hit the wrong button by accident. It just WORKS. I know this from personal experience, as I've gone out to learn about the thing and play it. But then people say it looks awkward. HOW. What's awkward about how it looks? Are you thinking that you hold the wiimote and classic simultaneously, or that the wiimote won't stay in your lap?

In fact I love my classic so much I realy want NIntendo to patch things so I can play my old gamecube games with it. It rocks so much! And if the Wii is going to stay versatile It should endorse as many classicly controlled Wii games as possible. IT's not just for virtual console games.

*whew*

The only thing I don't like about the classic controller is the buton placement. Everything have been moved 1 space counter-clockwise which means adapting to classic from GC will be a hassle.
