Believe it or not, this question is not as simple as you might think. If it came out soon:it would be more convient, and we wouldn't be drooling for more news, but that mean there would be more clones(Ex.Ganondorf,Falco),some chars edited out(Ex: Like what was rumored to happen to Balloon Rider and Mach Rider). If came out later, like possibly late '07/or 08: We would be waiting a hell of lot longer, but the game would probably be better and even more perfect then what we expect it to be.

So,whats your opinion?

Four words:
Ey as ey pee.

But yeah, December sounds about right. I'm sure they'll be able to deliver a non-half-***** game by then. And there's always the option of downloadable content...

Why 19..? Why not 20.
Because November 19th would be 1 year after the Wii came out.

And BTW I agree, if it hits in November I will be happy, I don't think I can wait much longer then that, although I will have to if it gets delayed.

I'm just hoping for 42 Chars, I would be okay if up to 8 or so chars were clones, but I'll be alright even if the game only has like 35 chars.

I want it released when it's done and not before. I'm sick and tired of people saying they should hurry up and finish it because if the game is to truly be perfect they have to take it slow and steady and not rush it like they did melee.

(Go to Meet and Greet and go to Creo's(mine)I'm not new... please)
If anything, I'd want it on a Friday because I'll just reserve it.

Neither ganon, nor Falco are clone characters. They have a large following and a fanbase, there are smashers who literally are in love with falcos moveset, I'm one of them. If you think that they should destroy a TRULY UNIQUE moveset like falcos just because the attack animations resemble fox's, you know even though his dair, and laser are entirely different animations, than you're not very considerate.

Same goes for Ganon. Ganon and falcon are opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of gameplay... COMPLETLY different characters.

Someone came up with the idea of putting blood falcon in brawl with ganons moveset, and giving ganon a dark wizard moveset and possibly his sword... I love that idea.

Im gonna be upset if they take out falco or ganons moves in brawl purely because ignorant people think that the same attack animation implies clone despite different move effects, weight, traction, and speed. Doc and Mario however are so simlilar that I wont mind if they cut out doc. Luigi though is totally unique and theyd never leave him out.

I use Falco too, but technically he is a clone. By attacks from him and Fox he is.
Well, he has 2 unique moves, his Dair and his laser. And the rest of his moves knock the opponent in entirely different ways..

his attack ANIMATIONS are the same, but to me its the effects that matter... with doc and mario their uair, bair dsmash, usmash, utilt among other things are the SAME where as with fox and falco no 2 moves between them have the same power/effect.

They ARE clones, but I don't think their similiar enough to justify falcos removal from brawl, or a complete change in his moveset.

Dylan, you're always getting into this arguement. It's just a matter of the defintion of the word 'clone.'

Speaking as a Ganon main, I'd be dissapointed if he didn't get a new moveset. Sure, people enjoy his moveset now fine, but I don't think I can think of a single Ganon player who doesn't want a new moveset.

As to the topic, I think I'd like to see it 'round the holiday season this year. It's probably not going to happen, though, which is just too bad...

Also, another reason why they should take their time before releasing Brawl is that they need to make sure that the characters are properly balanced...

One mistake that they did with melee is that the characters were poorly designed/balanced. Because of that, some ended up sucking (Bowser, Roy), while others became good by mistake (Sheik, Peach, ICs) and many originals were put through a ridiculous nerfing process (Kirby, Pika).

I have no problem against cheap characters, actually the best game is the one where every1 in it can be cheap. But purposely decreasing priority, lowering strength and adding lag to a character without checking the consequences is really being a lazy game designer.

For real, right now I really want to watch Melee's credits so that I can find the name of the dude that was responsible for this.

Yeah they REALLy did a number on pika/kirby/ness. which is hilarious because they were SO BROKENNNNNNN in SSB. Kirbys utlit and drill, ness' jump canceled moves, including his shield breaking stompity stomp, pikachus everything and insane edge combo - recovery game...

Roy there was no way they could have made him good, hes a horrible idea. A guy with range, but his range is negated by the fact that his power is closest to his body.. what the hell is the POINT of the sword then? As my friend put it ''To be good with Roy, you need to have ****ty spacing''

Bowsers not THAT bad haha, check out Arash. He just requires extreme dedication. if he was just a LITTLE bit faster he might climb through the tiers despite being such a big target, his moves are prettttty sweet I find.

Realistically, you can't balance 40+ characters unless you're a pure genius. (Which Nintendo is not, I'm afraid. They're just really close.) I just hope they can balance them enough so there are 3 tiers or less.

The best characters in terms of balance, I think, are Link, Donkey Kong, Mario and Doc, maybe Pikachu... basically the mid tier.
I was thinking about making a thread for everyone to suggest how they would change characters to make them more balanced... good idea?

Or unless they make them exactly the same, which I hope they don't. I'd almost rather have the kind of inbalance now in Melee than how extremely similar characters.

I completly agree. The only way to for sure make them ''balanced'' is to make them the same.

Thing is.. smash bros is a game with tons of unique characters with movesets influenced from a large degree of various degrees...

each character is unique, and stays true to what the original character is like, except ganon whos moves make no sense lol wheres the dark magic ....

Anyhow all these people complaining about a need of more ''balance'' should seriously stfu.

they could take ganon and falco and give them new animations, with the same effect of knockback etc. problem solved.
