My birthday is Feb 10th.
Sakurai is releasing it on my birthday, special for me. Cuz we're tight like that.
Oh, and wavedashing is in. He just didn't want to put it in the demo, to mess with the community's hive mind.

It's amazing that some of you are so sure Feb 10 08 is the date. Amazing. There was time when we all were sure Dec. 3 07 was the date. History can and will repeat itself with another delay.

It's amazing that you're so sure that some of us are wrong about Feb. 10th? Dec. 3rd was a date set while the game was still deep in devolpment. I believe that the game is much farther along now than it was back in May/June?, so this new date is probably more set than the last one. I understand that you just don't want to be disappointed again though, but you are so freaking negative about everything.

And I have reason to be, look at Nintendo's history of delaying games.
Then why are you so shocked?? And why do you keep griping about it? If you knew that Nintendo delays games and you somehow thought Brawl was above this then that's your own fault.

So you've looked yourself, and you were still totally blown down by the delay and you're still sore about it. Your problem I guess.
I am basically treating this as if they never confirmed a new date after December's was vanquished. I after they release the next release date, then that one gets delayed, the release date they release after THAT will be the correct one: Holliday 08.
Phantom Hourglass was released on a Monday.

I am happy that the glitches are being fixed now if there is any, but I'm unhappy that they didn't expose and fix them sooner. If you think that December 3rd was rushing the game and that years of development isn't enough to make a perfect game, well, geez. Let's just tack on 10 more years just for safe measure. It's O.K. It's for the good of the game.

Believe me I hope it comes out on Feb 10 08, but the chances of that happening are slim just by looking at all the supposed content in this game.

What do you mean by that? Are you saying that the more things that they reveal on the DOJO, the longer it will take the game? Please explain your reasoning.

Marketing reasons aside, I think the real reason it's delayed is because Sakurai and his team want to put all these functions in the game such as saving replays, online, tons characters etc.. The problem is that for some odd reason despite having over a year to do this they ran out of time and need more. In short they bit off more than they could chew so to speak.

I really doubt they're still adding characters and stuff now, the game comes out in Japanin three months. For some odd reason? They're trying to make Brawl as great and epic and satisfying as possible. I think that's a good reason. I still don't see why you think that's a bad thing. Three months is worth it for a better game.

The game won't be any better because of 3 months. There is no way polishing a game you have time to work on for over a year requires 3 more months. They're adding more stuff.

And how many video games have you worked on? You're so far down in your pit of pessimism now. Think about it; with three months left to launch date, would you be polishing things or adding things that won't be fully refined? And what makes you think they're still adding things anyway? The daily updates? That stuff's been in the game for a while, just not revealed.

Even if they are adding stuff, that's good, right? It seems that your only gripe about this game is that it's being delayed another three months, to put that stuff that everyone wants in. If it's to make the game more like the game you want it to be, then why be so negative about it?

Because they add over a year and couldn't get it done still? Don't have Reggie give us a Dec 3rd date especially the way Reggie says: Not next year but this year Brawl will be out. They need to come out and be honest.

Simple explanation: It's so much stuff it takes more than a year to put in and make nice. There ya go. You seem to be wanting them to rush the game. And Reggie isn't Sakurai, that release date was announced in the middle of Brawl's development, and Sakurai made no promises. "Look at Nintendo's long list of delays." Why does this still surprise you then?

Because it'll be after the whole holiday sales thing + they'll be done. You say that there's no excuse for them not being able to finish the game by December, but then you get on them for possibly adding adding stuff and not taking as long. Just have some faith dood.

Jeez, that's what they're working on! So they overshot a release date to put better stuff in the game. And then you complain, and then want it to come out later. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Based on nothing! One announced delay doesn't mean they'll do it again. That's just extreme pessimism + a personal vendetta against Sakurai at work.

2) December 3 was an aggressive push to Sakurai, who hoped to have it out by 07. Reggies overconfidence makes me angry
3) The date is a week or so after Japanese, just like Melee, just like it has always been.
4) If all they are doing is polishing (or fixing things, as the Japanese translation claimed ((see SamuraiPanda))) then a delay of 2 months and 7 days is pretty much a safety buffer, to ensure that everything will get polished.
5) This is not Twilight Princess. Nintendo doesnt have a new system coming out, and they are not dangling the game until the new system comes out to push that system.
