you know how sometimes when you dash attack, and do an utilt after or something, you get teleported back like a few steps after the dash attack?

what's the deal with that lol
anyone know how to do it on purpose?

i've seen it happen with lots of moves right after dash attack and even jumps after dash attack sometimes get teleported back a little.

I have no idea. Maybe a video could help us out. My first, and probably incorrect thought, is that it has to do with IASA frames and you teleport back to where the dash attack hotbox starts if you interrupt it at a certain time. Just an uneducated guess tho.

Marths dash and jump push him back a bit because of how he jumps and runs, especially if they clank with moves in their IASA frames

Animation based positioning. His "bones" (as they are called by the game itself) are moved forward for his dashing and dash attack animations, so when he goes into another animation he doesn't ever reset to normal standing which looks normal enough.

that makes sense.

Also, I've never seen this, just where Marth goes ultra-slow-mo due to the tree on DL64.

does anyone think there's a way to make it not slide back at all? maybe holding a certain direction as your dash attack finishes would keep your character planted. the sliding messes up your spacing for certain combos (like reverse fair dash attack to reverse fair)
