What to do against Peach?

Ok, I just played in a tourney where I utterly ***** the winners bracket.. cept an epic match against sheik... (thank you waveshine) I was playing fox. So then from the depths of the losers bracket comes Peach... I lost both rounds to peach on FD with fox....

I know Peach basically counters Space animals.. I know she has an advantage. So what do you do against a Peach.... I couldn't waveshine... don't know why.. I am a very clutch player... but my controller is not... lol

Also, who fairs better fox or falco?

Cause we played some friendlies after... ownage as falco...

he pretty much said it all but very bandly. play campy vs. peach. laser a lot as well. then take all his ideas into mind. keep moving.....dont just stand around

Basically, try your hardest not to get grabbed, shine after every attack, and remember shine combos are your friend in this match up. Don't be afraid to go for shine spikes, just make sure you know what your doing or you will end up losing a stock. SPAM LASERS and make the peach come to you, please.

Play gay, aka laser, never aerial without a shine or something following because you will either get d-smashed or thrown... thats pretty much it, waveshine to u-smash is the easiest way to get percentage and kills.

lol everyone pretty much covered it, just play really gay. Laser camp a lot, and if they approach you, just Bair, or shffl nair+shine, then either combo that to up smash, grab, or run away and shoot more lasers. just continue this til they get a good amount of percentage, then just finish it with spaced aerials or up smash.

I know it gets really tiring after a while to keep this up, but you have to do it, if not the tables can be easily turned and you can get *****.

yeah, a lot of peaches will try to sweet spot, and keep your wondering when they are going to do it while floating under the stage, i tend to go for shines during the float, or if i dont have enough time, i'll try to go for a downtilt durign her recovery.

Waveshine > USmash.

Fox has the advantage over peach, and falco is soft countered by her.

Uthrow>uair, waveshine>usmash, nair>usmash

Don't forget the mathos combo: laser>laser>repeat

ban FD because of Chain grabs

just play pretty fast and campy.

the one thing people haven't said is how useful full jumped NOT fast falled arials are against peach.

its a great mix up against peach and so long as you shine afterwards EVERY TIME (cant mess that up) and jump/wavedash after shine you give yourself a good approach and incase peach shields you can get away without a scratch.


just run, laser, and the big one MIX UP YOUR ARIALS. do sh nair, full jump no fast fall nair, full jump fast fall nair, sh no fast fall nair. peach needs lots of predicting vs fox because she has a MAJOR speed disadvantage, so if you never do anything predictable in terms of arials you are set.


Big stages are also never good choices vs peach, pick a stage like yoshi's story for counterpick.


oh and the final thing that helped me a TON is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS DI UP! peach will almost always GARUNTEED kill you w/ ledge gaurds or attacks that kill you on the side. so, you want to be sure you do the opposite of going off the edge, which would be going up. fox recovery is much more unpredictable above the stage and if you DI up you give yourself many options for recovery.

also, if you DI up during dsmash almost always you will only get hit once or twice, and if you tech perfect at low percents you wont get hit with another afterwards. also helps you stay alive when peach does dsmash for ledge gaurd and you are recovering from below w/ firefox because you will be sent to other side of the stage and usually you will land or at least get another shot at side b/firefox.


good luck dont let dsmash **** you! always DI up! if anything this is the most important advice. I see a lot of good foxes lose to peach because they dont DI up when they get downsmashed.

peach can CC you to a dsmash for your nair.. so that aproach just is not good.
If I were you, I would use someone else against peach. like falcon or marth.. I hate playing peach, every move she does has priority over anything fox does, and she is just so annoying

be aware that peach can float cancel, meaning if she approaches with an aerial, it'll probably be FC aerial ---> Dsmash. that and...when in doubt upsmash? haha, but peach is floaty and will get ownd by usmash and u air. and blaster camping, i think is not as effective against peach as falco's is. the fact that she can run through them means she can eat u up if you're just standing there, so be campy but not lazy. the shine will save your life too. personally, i think shine spikes tick people off most (they do to me XD) so yeah, use it to make her careful and so that it's easier to recognize her recoveries (cuz they probably wont try the same recovery too many times if you're always going for shine spikes).

Against Peach with Fox....spam lasers, constantly and also dash dance camp like a *****. Fox's up throw and upsmash **** Peach pretty hard and one waveshine lead's to either of those. As long as you DON'T play insanely aggressive, but rather a little more passive and "camp", then the match should be yours.

As a peach player, I think you should crouch cancel more Dsmashes ftw.

In reality, you should lazr camp and u throw uair, it's not very FUN, but it gets the job done. You also might want to consider banning stages.

Ok seriously shine to up-smash makes up for most of the **** peaches pull out. Better yet drill shine to U-Smash. Make sure your L-cancels are on point...or you might get *****. And a little camping never hurts.
