To Interject, I have a Shiny Male Dragonite that I traded for in Pokemon X, and I I also have a shiny Genesect that I traded my Shiny Mewtwo for, from Japan. The X and Y Trade was pretty hard to get, and I got rejected a lot, but I eventually stood up to the world, and I asked for some shiny Pokemon because I could'nt hatch any good ones from breeding. Long story short, I have no shiny bred Pokemon, but I can sure Bargain for some!

Honestly, I don't remember much on where some shinies came from, but some were hacked from my friend (like the mewtwo) I don't even know which ones are shiny-locked or not even. I would be interested to know if you give details

You should not have been able to get Shiny Zekrom and Kyruem from the Unova games.

I did a quick check online, you're right. I was playing alpha sapphire while posting and looked at both my Zekrom and Kyurem, they weren't shiny. No idea why I put them in my list. Thanks for pointing that out, I will edit my list.

Hey everyone. Sorry i haven't posted for a while. I just traded a shiny Lv 100 Japanese Mew for a Lv.100 Male Dragonite with Multiscale. Not much of a big achievement if you'd ask me. It's rare to do so with Japanese players on Pokemon X/Y and ORAS nowadays. Otherwise, i'm a shiny Dragonite collector. I have 20 Dragonite's in my Box #2. Still a work in progress. I have yet to collect over 50+ Dragonite's before I can get some other pokemon. Wish me luck!

P.S, i'm a shiny hunter of Dragon-type Pokemon ONLY. No other Pokemon mattter to me. I collect my rare shiny pokemon by trading the legendaries that I catch, online with friends and other people from around the world. If you have a Shiny Dragonite for trade, look up my Mii Character's name.

Just caught my 2nd ever legit shiny today: a green Wingull in Sun! I don't even do shiny hunting, so when I found a green Wingull in Hau'oli City while looking for a Pichu, I almost had a heart attack.

My first shiny was a green Zubat in Pearl, which I found roughly 7-8 years ago. Funny enough, both Wingull and Zubat are very common flying types that have green shinies.

The only shiny I've ever caught in the wild was a Doduo in my Alpha Sapphire game. Otherwise I've got a few shiny legendaries, a Kyurem I think, as well as a shiny Dragonite and a shiny Serperior, both of which I like to use in the Battle Tree. In the last 3 days I got a shiny Geodude, shiny Squirtle, and shiny Farfetch'd in Silver VC

Squirtle was breed, so that was only a 1/ 50 chance

But that Geodude was probably the first Shiny I legit ran into randomly in a long time. I was trying to capture a teddiursa, which I actually didn't get. I got a Ursaring instead eventually at someplace easier to catch. (The Geodude was in Crystal, the others were in Silver)

Edit: I just hatched a Shiny FEMALE Exeggcute in 1 egg of deciding to breed it.

1) OMG I need to buy a lottery ticket.
2) I didn't know female pokemon COULD be shiny in gen 2

Edit 2: I got a shiny Nidoran (m) now. Took much more eggs. But not as many as my attempt for a shiny charmander which I still don't have. I don't really need to transfer him to USUM though because I actually already had a shiny nidoran I breed in it.

Going for a Shiny Charmander and Shiny Mantine in silver/ crystal. Mantine is probably going to come first as the pokemon like eachother more and I'm getting eggs faster than I can hatch them.

I've been going for a shiny Charmander for MONTHS without luck because it's so slow. The pokemon are from the same game

One of the problems is the games prevention of inbreeding. The other is the only way to get a new charmander without breeding is to transfer a low attack IV'd charmander from red/ blue - which I can since I started a new game in red. But I don't know how to tell IV's in gen 1. So to me it's more of a gamble if I transfer it over and it turns out to be female. It HAS to be female because I'm only breeding a shiny charmander to pass an egg move on to a different pokemon, and It'd be much more convenient if I breed it with a shiny pokemon since it increases the shiny rate to 1/50.

There is probably an easier way to do it. I probably should just breed the pokemon with a regular caught ditto to keep it's egg moves than breed that pokemon with my shiny ditto. That way they'd be from different games.

I have a shiny gen 3 living dex. I did not do all the rng manipulating on my own(thank god!) Its pretty sweet. I have found 5 or six on my own just from playing the game since 2006. All Pokemon emerald

Well, I figured out how to use the coin case glitch to turn any pokemon shiny.

So I essentially have a shiny of every gen 1 and 2 pokemon, except Mew which can't be transferred

As Psychoincarnate mentioned it is now possible to get Celebi as a shiny through Virtual console if you have both the game on your 3ds and Pokémon bank/transporter. I've been wanting to try for it for a while but laziness has kept me from playing Pokémon Crystal

The light blue shiny blastoice is a welcome break from the purples normally used on shiny water types.
I disagree with gen three having the worst graphics for the pokemon. I think the 3d sprites leave off details that the the 2d sprites have.
