What "series" Nintenzone wants to be revived (Victory!!!)

Over in the Nintenzone social thread I brought up this idea of a little tournament for what series this group wants revived the most.

As for my vote I vote Ice Climber because like Guybrush20X6 said we've seen a lot of Excitbike games on the Wii so i'm interested to see what a modern day Ice Climber game can look like.

Excitebike isn't really "dead", it's just been relegated to smaller titles. Pretty sure it got like... three last gen.

So I voted for Ice Climber. I think it could make for an interesting vertical platformer. Also an update to Nana and Popo could prove interesting.

To be honest, there's not much else you can do with Game & Watch in this day and age. So Punch Out gets my vote if only because that series has more potential.

Advance Wars VS Starfy

My vote goes to Advance Wars. If Fire Emblem can make a glorious comeback in relevancy, then so should the other tactical RPG. Isn't that right Ura ?

As if you even need to ask me what i'm voting for lol.

Advance Wars could use the revival a lot more really. No offense to any Starfy fans but Wars is a series that has it's roots attached to the NES era and IMO should have never gone on hiatus for this long.

AW on the NX would be amazing especially if the rumors of playing anywhere you go is true. You can start a battle at your house and then continue it when you go outside, sort of like the concept 64 Wars had with the Transfer Pak before the game got cancelled.

But for real Aussie your right. FE came back in a huge way with Awakening and Wars can do the same thing. It was Wars that even brought FE to the West after all so I have no doubt it can happen.

Even more so if it launches close to the launch of the NX like how Awakening launched close to the 3DS's early days.

I'd be happy with either but I feel there's a lot more AW can do moving forward than Starfy. Not to mention... I think we're fine as far as the 2d/2.5d platformers go for the time being...

Incidentally if either were to be revived in the next little while I'd imagine they'd each get a respective character in Smash. At this point the only thing stopping either series is a lack of recent activity imo.

Advance Wars by a long shot.

Fire Emblem is a great series though there aren't that many tactical RPGs out there. Advance Wars is an amazing series that hasn't had a new entry in nearly 10 years. Sure the same can be said about Starfy, but we have way too many 2D platformers right now. Plus seeing how popular FE has gotten, I think AW might be able to start something again.

Custom Robo is a terrific series that just kinda stopped. We need more of it. What is Noise even up to nowadays?

And Drill Dozer is alright, but doesn't have anything on Custom Robo as far as I'm concerned.

My vote goes to F-Zero. Easily makes my Top 5 Nintendo series and is one of the 3 series I really want back alongside Advance Wars and Golden Sun.

Golden Sun because much like Advance Wars it's a series I really want to be revived because i'm a huge fan of the Golden Sun games. We need a 4th entry in the series to finish off the story of Isaac and co. as well as getting Isaac in to Smash Bros.

Gonna go with Golden Sun. Duck Hunt in this day and age would be something you'd be more likely to see in a bar, I think, with other hunting games, those don't really have a place on home consoles anymore, unless it's a niche thing I'm completely unaware of.


Also going with Starfy. Cute, charming platformer with a story that kind of carved its own gameplay niche as a "marine platformer" due to the focus on underwater movement. I just want another Starfy game, though I'd also accept the first four being released in the US with the fifth game as a Starfy Legacy Collection with a Starfy amiibo.

Wasn't particularly a fan of the early Golden Sun games when I played them as a kid, although my memory is foggy enough that I'm not really confident in my opinion. I'm kinda interested in what a Duck Hunt "reboot" would even be considering how primitive the original game is. A Banjo-Kazooiealike? A very weird, Nintendo take on the FPS? Golden Sun obviously makes more sense and probably deserves to win this round but I have a relatively decent idea of what it would look like. No matter what shape it takes a Duck Hunt revival would leave us scratching are heads, which is why the idea is kinda interesting to me.

Gotta go with Golden Sun and Starfy. The former is an underrated series which ended on a cliffhanger (not to mention Duck Hunt is... well, Duck Hunt), and the latter is an actual series with a much larger fanbase than Drill Dozer, which found success outside Japan then just stopped for some inexplicable reason.
