What Nintendo needs to do is continue what it's doing right now.
Minimal input of effort, minimal financial investment, maximal profit.

You seriously can't go wrong with that, Iwata is a genius this gen.

because there doing that alot of the games they make suck
Well, they're getting more dough out of it than they did putting their all into their games. You have to see things from their perspective, where their share on the stock market and annual revenue are all that really matter.

Pokemon MMO. It would be the greatest thing of all time.
That would sell a system entirely by itself. People would pay exorbitant Warcraft Subscription fees for it too. Nintendo should actually look into it haha.

Design your own trainer ftw.
I still haven't changed how I'd love to look in the Pokemon universe since I was like 7. I'm totally still a kid really, and Pokemon just proves it. My trainer design is soooo coooool! XD

I want to start Pokemon Diamond again, but Nintendo were kind enough not to allow you to transfer mons back to a different game in Ranch. Kinda.... defeats the whole purpose.

I know what Nintendo needs to do. Make a Pokemon console type project. Seriously, no game has the infinite replay value as pokemon. I can still play pokemon RBY/GSC and enjoy it more than almost any other replay.

Pokemon is a standalone money printing machine, and a pretty awesome one at that.

That would be so amazing. I've never thought of it, but it's such a great idea.

Design your own trainer ftw.
Even beyond that. You could choose to be a trainer. Or a gym leader, or a breeder, or a Team Rocket member, or a Nurse Joy/Officer Jenny...basically, anything that exists in the Pokemon world, you could be it. Fight in 3-D in real time against wild Pokemon or other trainers. Form clans, catch Pokemon.

Society would literally grind to a standstill, because no one would ever leave their computer. And yeah, I think it should be done for computer. It'll never happen either way, so might as well wish the biggest wish.

At this point, I'm pretty much sure nintendo is ******* around with mother fans just for teh lulz.
No.

People are assuming that Nintendo is willingly not giving out the Mother series, which is incorrect.
Mother 3, just like EarthBound (for the VC), will never get released in the west due to copyright issues.
Copyright works different in Japan, so it's all good over there, but in the States and Europe, it would end up in millions of dollars that they would lose due to copyright infringement and they'd have to take the games off the market.
In the SNES era, the copyright laws weren't working so extremely strict, so they were able to release EB in the States.

Alone the music has heavy copyright issues, let alone the other stuff.

Holy sweet ice cream pizza pie.

I love this idea. So much.

The world would probably explode if this happened, or everyone would turn into mindless zombies, though. :ohwell:

I thought the only copyright problems came from the Music itself.(Which isn't all that bad either. The "Johnny B. Goode" riff was extremely common in the 60's, its like putting a copyright on the "bum-budum-dum-bumbum-dum bumbum" beat of many a reggaeton songs. And even then, mainstream techno artists and rappers are able to get away with sampling other songs, and it's not like they'd care about some stupid SNES game anyway.)

And even then, any other similarities to anything are just nods at best, no less legally offensive than anything on robot chicken.

Corporations love to jump at any chance to sue for copyright infringement. It may seem minor to you, but these companies will sue any chance they get.

Exactly that.

Think of it. They would sue Nintendo, one of the biggest entertainment and electronics company in the world.

That's be a crapload of money they could gain there.

Nintendo needs to buy back Rare. Banjo, Conker and good DK games need to come back to Nintendo consoles.

Ah, I feel that Nintendo will not change what is working for them right now. Unfortunately for us that means developing games for the "casual gamer" market. As shallow as those games may be they simply sell more because there are more people (in that demographic) to buy them. Actual good games or decent games on the Wii (and to a slightly lesser degree the Ds) get ignored by these players and sell very low.
......
Back on topic: I want more games with mature content that is not just violence and swearing, I want games that explore things that are considered mature because they make you think. I think Nintendo can step up to that (in my dreams) and sequels for many of the games most of you mentioned.
..
Oh I played one of the Famicon detective club games (snes/fan-translated) very fun and intelligent game!

tl:dr version: Nintendo is doing what a good company is supposed to do: Sell to the largest demographic and profit. These newer games (mentioned in op) also appeal to that demographic (except golden sun 3) so I feel that we just got lucky :)

Uh...well, it certainly isn't the casual gamers that know F-Zero and Star Fox well...so you explain to me why it is there's a demand for this stuff if the core gamers don't care about it?
There isn't a demand.

10 or 20 people out of like 100,000 is not demand.

Besides, Starfox: Command returned the series to its roots and it still didn't sell.

And F-Zero (not too mention the Excite series) also never fair that well anyway.

Then again, the Conduit sold very well from what I'm told so maybe core gamers are actually starting to wise up.

I have been disappointed for the most part with the Wii, especially around 2008 and 2009. There have only been 3 games that I have really liked...Brawl, Mario Kart, and MOHH2.

I would like to see ANY franchise besides Mario, Zelda, and Metroid have a game released. (Especially Mario...its been milked to high heaven on the Wii) Star Fox, F-Zero, Earthbound, Kid Icarus, anything instead of this casual stuff.

A first person shooter that actually allows you to use the gamecube controller would be nice, its just so much more convenient and precise than the wiimote.

Come on, Nintendo.

I was thinking about how much fun it would be to have a 3D OoT fighter! That would be so much fun! The movement would be the same, but you can easily take out different weapons (I dunno how though). I think I would love Nintendo even more than I do now if they did that. Like, imagine you're fighting a boss, but the boss is actually your friend playing as...a skullkid (sp?) in multiplayer mode but they have special weapons unique to skullkid (sp?) I'm seeing the graphics as the same.

-New F-Zero with top notch online features
-New Star Fox, no arcadey like air fights
-Pokemon MMORPG with a REVAMPED battle system real/semi real time

Do that, they make a billion, and everyone is happy. GET IT TO YOUR HEADS NINTENDO

The main reason for Star Fox/F-Zero not having new games is because those games honestly don't sell well.

It's sad, but so incredibly true.

Localize the Famicom Detective Club series
I've never played it, but from what I've heard, this should be done.

Make another Kid Icarus game already!
http://www.vgmuseum.com/scans/gb/KidIcarusG-Front.jpg

But seriously, people have been pestering Nintendo about this forever. Why the hell wouldn't they revive the series?

Localize Mother 3
Mother 3 could potentially be released in the USA. The focus wasn't so much on American culture as it was on narrative. Earthbound was based on comedy whereas Mother 3 was based on story. There isn't any copyright infringement with this game, so this could potentially happen. Nintendo can't get it's **** together, though, so I doubt it will happen.

Mother remake, please
Copyright infringement. It's really too bad...

i kan haz new F-Zero?
Nintendo has been focusing far too much on their "main characters", such as Mario, Link, and Samus. Needs moar focus on VARIETY.

The Wii... this system needs more Star Fox
Yes pls

More full-fledged Pokemon RPGs like Pokemon Coliseum
Pokemon MMO would destroy the economy and Nintendo would become the only company left with money. The game could practically feed the hungry and end war. I think Nintendo is using this idea as a last resort.

I really doubt Nintendo would make a good MMO on their own. They would need some help, most definitely.

ice climbers have on about every system in one way or another since it's been made. climbing mountains is always sweet. plus you know their would be sled racing and maybe the melee DOWN SMASH!!!!!!!!! brawl's is weeker unless you get the sweetspot thing and it didn't feel nearly as good in my hand when I did it. Their down smash is my favorite move of all the smash games. even better than 2 falcon punches.

lol the way you overrate a pokemon mmo is hilarious. Go ahead, keep doing it while Nintendo continues with its minimal effort and giant profits plan. Not as if there are people out there who don't like pokemon or time wasting mmo's.

I had some ideas for a while about Star Fox. I think here's a good place to put them :ohwell:

New Arwings
AKA the Transforming kind. Its time Team Star Fox got a inventory upgrade, and Transforming Arwings seem like the best bet. It would give them both air and ground superiority, and would save time with out switching to landmasters all the time. It would possibly be a better choice for ground based missions as your always in the Arwing, so no need to keep running around to find the **** thing. I mean it would be nice as a 3rd person shooter.

New Cast
Ohh hey remember the endings to Star Fox Command? With the new crew? Why can't they do that? I mean a combined ending for Star Fox Command would make sense. You can't be playing Fox all the time, seeing every game has a somewhat 3 year interval, whereas Mario could do it on a monthly basis.

Two Versions
I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but I'll put it out any ways. The idea is 2 versions of "Star Fox X"(hey not a bad title).

One would be your traditional Star Fox, with on rails, some ground missions and some free ranged. This would be Star Fox Classic. The stuff that made Star Fox good.

Another one would be a some what limited version of Star Fox. Star Fox G. This is version has no on rails missions, except possibly the RAEG TUNNEL, and emphasizes more on dogfighting(pardon the pun) and vehicle ground battles. If theirs demand production could continue.

Localize Mother 3

Yes, I know that there's a fan translation (which I've played, and it's awesome) but some honest to God acknowledgment of Mother's Western fanbase would be nice. I don't care if you bring it to the US as Mother 3 or Earthbound 2, just do it! And while we're on the topic of the Mother series...

Mother remake, please

The first Mother was an NES game that the rest of the world never got, and just like Pit, having Lucas in Brawl is a huge window of opportunity to revive the Earthbound franchise in the west. Let's face it, if Nintendo were to have a Mother remake for the DS (granted they have the right marketing strategy) sales could go through the roof for not only a Mother remake, but for the already best-selling DS or even the DSi.
GOD, yes. If you couldnt tell, Im an Earthbound fan(atic).

My suggestion to my beloved Nintendo...

MAKE A MARIO GAME WITH SOME VIOLENCE IN IT.

Seriously, Super Mario Galaxy was quite epic and all, but a tiny bit babyish to me. However, I have yet to see blood (at least a little) in a Mario game.
Look back at your Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards game, Nintendo, Zero Two? Remember?
Make something like that in Mario.

And another thing... Make Bowser a little bit more evil, yes? We need some REAL darkness within the Mario universe.
