So, this thread is to discuss moves that pokemon should know but don't know.
-Mewtwo with Fly
-Deoxys with Vine whip.
You may also talk generally about the Moves and Types that exist in Pokemon.
You may also suggest your own moves that you think should exist.

But you can also discuss what moves you think Pokemon shouldn't know.
- Golem with Flamethrower?
-Rhydon and surf?

So, I want to know what you think about this.
What moves do you think certain Pokemon should know in the games?

WOW, I didn't know Golem could learn Flamethrower:)
Do TM's cout, if they do, Porygon-Z shouldn't be able to learn Dark Pulse.
Question, Can this thread also be for types that pokemon should have but don't and vise-versa, i.e. Palkia=Water

Sure, good idea.

I think Golem can use flamethrower, though its been a while since I've checked...
And you're right about Palkia. It doesn't make sense...

A little off-topic, but I'd like the type "steel" change to "metal". Seriously, are all steel-type Pokemon actually made of steel and steel only? If it were metal, they could be composed of any type of metal, not just steel.

Wow, Golem can ACTUALLY learn Flamethrower. I just looked it up. That's idiotic.

As for moves that should be learnable, hm...Doduo/Dodrio should not be able to fly. They don't even have any wings.

Mewtwo should definitely be able to fly. Rayquaza shouldn't be able to learn Surf (it's so skinny, how does it even do that?)

That's all I've got for now.

Heh, I had to go and search up the Golem thing because I didn't believe it.

Lapras should be Dragon/Ice/Water/Psychic. It fits all 4 types perfectly.
-Venomoth/Beedrill should be flying type
-It would be cool if Grovyle was part Flying, it would make him 4x weakness to ice though.

Read the Pokedex entries and most of them would make sense.

Sure, Golem can use Fire Blast and Flamethrower, but, with a low base special atttack, it really doesn't matter, does it? Golem can use only Fire Punch since it can already learn fire attacks and the rest of the elemental punches would be broken on it.

Porygon Z's Pokedex entry said that it began acting odd. Odd = evil and evil = Darkness.

Weavile could use Thunderpunch, though. It looks as if it can use 2 elemental punches.

Empoleon shouldn't have Steel Type, should be just plain Water.

Starmie Shouldn't be able to learn Thunderbolt, I mean, Come on, it's a water type!

Rayquaza should be steel. I hate that it's not because it is obviously made of some kind of metal.

Also, Golem using Flamethrower is the coolest thing I've ever heard, despite its weak potential.

Has anyone noticed that almost all Pokemon in 4th gen. can learn either:blizzard, hyper beam, fire blast, solar beam.
Dunsparce if I remember correctly, can learn Blizzard.

Dunsparce are legendary serpentoids from Japan, according to Wikipedia, which explains their extremely non-generic movesets. One, in my main party in FireRed, has absolutely no Serene Grace moves (Litigano's Special Attack sucks too hard for Ice Beam or anything).

Give Torkoal Haze, you &@%#$*^ Game Freak people! Overheat is lonely!

Yeah, I did the same.

We're not talking about broken-ness, we're talking about realisticness. Realistically, how can a rock blow out fire? Obviously Pokemon isn't entirely realistic, but that excuse is lame because there's a difference between the basis of Pokemon and...having a rock blow fire. Most moves are placed on Pokemon sensibly, so that it's not confusingly senseless, but this thread is for discussing those (and types) that aren't.

Has anyone noticed that almost all Pokemon in 4th gen. can learn either:blizzard, hyper beam, fire blast, solar beam.
Dunsparce if I remember correctly, can learn Blizzard.
Yeah...that's really stupid. None of those are very good either. I used to be all "Wow, Blizzard/Hyper Beam/Fire Blast/Solar Beam!" but Blizzard and Fire Blast have awful accuracy, Hyper Beam has a recharge turn, and Solar Beam has a charge-up turn. It can be avoided with Sunny Day, but unless you use it multiple times, Sunny Day isn't really worth it because it's just Solar Beam's charge-up turn all over again.

One that always bothered me: Dodrio should be part Ground.
Yeah, and as I said, not be able to fly.

Back when I played Pokemon Stadium, I was always annoyed how there were Golems blowing out fire and stuff like that.

Now, we have slug/snake things that can summon blizzards and other forces of nature.

It also bugs me how moves like fire blast and blizzard and thunder are so easy to get now, and the number of pokemon that can use them are idiotic. Almost every pokemon but about twenty can use one of those.

Pikachu uses iron tail! Onix goes down!
Electivire uses Earthquake!
Mewtwo uses flamethrower/thunderbolt/icebeam/psychihc/shadow ball.....:dizzy:

Mew isn't so special anymore!
And almost every pokemon can learn substitute.

It's kind of funny.

I don't like how Donphan can't learn Flame Wheel...It wouldn't be useful, but it can turn into a wheel, I mean, c'mon! Also, the number of pokemon that can learn rapid spin is WAY too small

It also learns rock climb.
!?

How does a fat beaver-

Never mind.
I just don't see that logic.
Then again, you're talking to someone who leaves one slot open in his party at all times to catch an extra gyarados or bidoof if needed to perform HM moves, then releases them.
That's my way.

Lucario doesn't make sense being steel type.

Darkrai should be able to learn Nasty Plot

How come Porygon-Z can learn Nasty plot? The move requiers a brain, which Porygon-Z does not have.

Mewtwo should be able to learn dark pulse.

That's about it.

What makes no sense at all is that in G/S/C, Totodile/Croconaw/Feraligatr can't learn Waterfall. They're WATER-type Pokemon, right?

Focus Punch on Togekiss?
Togekiss has no arms to use for punching, unless somehow they're built into its wings.
