COMPLETE SUMMARY OF TOPIC:
Nothing. He was never planned as a character, so no 'things' happened to him.

I´m glad he didn´t make it into the game. I´d rather have K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing instead of this weird wooden puppet.

I think Geno's lesser known than Marth in the States when Melee came out. At least IMO.

So no Geno.

Well think of it like this: Back in melee Marth and Roy were two very obscure characters nobody in the US really knew about at all; same goes for Geno, but he was a bit more well known seeing as Super Mario RPG was a past time on the SNES. There would've been nothing wrong with his inclusion, especially as a 3rd party. If they could pull strings for Snake, and especially Sonic seeing as he made it in late in the production, it could've been done easily, as long as transactions between Square Enix and Nintendo went well.

You're not very familiar with the issues involved in intellectual property rights, are you?

Let it rest. Nintendo actually would've put Megaman in the game, but they were waiting for a call from Capcom for the rights. However, Capcom stated that they were also OK with Nintendo putting Megaman in Brawl, but they were waiting for a call from Nintendo to ask them. In the end, nothing was accomplished.

Geno... if you want info on him, just read the last couple of pages.

Poor, Geno. I truly think he was a one-time character just used to explain the story of the Star Road in SMRPG. This same question could be applied to Mallow(but he's a crybaby so no one wants him). lol

Pit hadn't been seen since Kid Icarus(before appearing in Brawl of course). Maybe Nintendo has something planned for Geno in the future. *sighs*

Geno had no place in Brawl. Some one time only side-character just doesn't cut it. Not famous enough. Just overhyped by the fans.

There was an article a while back speculating that Geno had been planned on being in the game and work had started on incorporating him just before the deal with Square Enix didn't work out. In the article it speculated that this was tied to Brawl's first launch delay. I bet you could find the article if you searched on Google.

Copyright hell.

Don't you think its weird that neither Nayru, Din, or Farore got even stickers, even though they helped in creating Hyrule? That's because their characters were created by Capcom for the Oracles and as such are stuck in copyright hell.

Either that, or Skaurai just has a bad memory :p.

He was a sidecharacter in one game. A lot of cult popularity doesn't get him in.

Still was a rumour, although I can believe that Square Enix protested - he didn't even get a sticker, did he?

Geno was never planned, the only ONLY character Sakurai EVER said that he though of making a playable character was Ridley. No mention ANYWHERE 'bout Geno.

Geno suffered from the Krystal syndrome, i always said Wolf was way more popular than Krystal, and that Krystal fans were more noisy than Wolf's, look what happened, Wolf=original moveset Krystal=cameo.

Also, No DLC EVER:

that one time only character nearly had a sequel, except square became total ****s and went to sony to make Final Fantasy VI. The game was released, with only the basic battle system and mario being involved intact. you know what game that was? paper mario.

Incorrect. Nayru, Din, and Farore are all Zelda mainstays. They've been the names of the Goddesses since LoZ:LttP. They also showed up in the 64 version.

I don't think the tread is up anymore, but it was a list of characters voted in Japan of who they wanted in Brawl having King Dedede, Ike, Diddy, and Geno recieve the most votes. I'll try to find unless someone else knows where it is.
you forgot ridley, he tied with them too:urg:

but the characters were chosen before that poll...

Foo'! They were in Ocarina of Time for like all of a minute. But the first time we ever got a good look at them was as the oracles in Oracle of Ages/Seasons, and they were created by Capcom. Meh, its a bad example: Ralph and Maple are slightly better ones.
