What could make you go insane?

I just finished reading Johnny got his Gun and I started thinking: What would make me go insane?

The main character was blasted by a canonball and had to be hospitalized. When he woke up he couldnt see, couldnt speak, couldnt hear, couldnt smell, didnt have legs and didnt have arms. That made him to start to go insane when he couldnt express himself....


I think that would make ME go insane as well......

i dont think many doctors would even let someone live like that!

being not being able to walk again...... i wouldnt want to live i dont think after that.... but ive never experienced such a thing so im not sure if thats how i would react or not!

Losing many family members or friends within a short period of time could drive me to mental insanity. Not being able to communicate, like in the novel would probably have the same effect on me as well.

Becoming extremely over-scheduled (even more than I already am, which is a lot) would make me go crazy. (In a loose sense, not literally.)

It's been reported that some drugs can trigger psychosis in people already genetically predisposed to it. From what I've heard, psychosis is a lot like being insane.

I've heard no T.V. and no beer can make someone go crazy.

What I think would make me go crazy would be being in prison for years/life and stuck in a tight cell for hours for a crime I didn't commit/framed for. So many years would go by in my life wasted.

Good one. This would drive me insane too. Imagine walking around school in a hallway and hearing several thoughts; especially if those thoughts were negative about you and you would have never known it without being a mind reader.

I remember watching an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer once and this exact same thing happened to her except for the negative thoughts about her thing. She did keep hearing about a murder plot against someone though and it drove her bonkers.
