I hear everything about Yoshi. I heard that he a heavy-weight *I think by Mario Wiki*. I also though he was a light-weight because he sooo small? So can someone please tell me what weight class he is?

In Melee he is among the heavier characters, but in Brawl he is smaller. I wouldnt be surprised to see him drop in weight to middle-light. I just hope he gets some buffs to compensate.

Well we won't know until the game comes out. I mean who thought Yoshi was light before SSBM came out? Sakurai might make him a middle-heavy or middle wieght character.

With that small frame though? Nah I cant see him being middle heavy anymore with that stubby form. It wouldnt make sense...

While he is indeed a little smaller than he was in Melee, he is still bigger than Mario and roughly the same size as Wario. Look at this screenshot for more proof.

He was pretty heavy in Melee, and his second jump made him even heavier. I have no idea how heavy he is in Brawl.

Wow I never noticed how...bulky he is. But look at Ike, he is also a heavy-weight but he's not bigger then Wario, just taller?

Thats why I said he might be middle-heavy. People don't accurately know his wieght (I don't really know either). His frame makes people give a false judgement in his wieght.

yoshi's weight is so random...
remember that in mario kart 64 he was a lightweight in the same class as peach, but then in doubledash he was moved to a midweight? then in both ssb64 and melee he was a pretty heavy character...which is likely to stay in brawl
random

Yeah. Ike is a light weight like Marth even though Marth was also taller than Yoshi.
Really? I always thought that Ike was a heavy-weight...

"The Dojo also implies that he will be a heavier character than Marth or Roy, and he appears to possess a powerful charging special move as well. "
That's a quote from Smashwiki.

TO clear things up, in melee he is 3rd or 4th heaviest charcter in the game. Done, and yes this has been proven. Hes just a tad lighter than gdorf.

Yoshi is a semi-heavy character, sort of like Samus, Ganondorf, and possibly Wario and Charizard.

Yoshi is medium-light weight from Mario Kart as well as in Smash. Think about it, he doesn't fly as far as Jigglypuff, but he flies a little further than Mario :)

he's probably right in the middle in brawl, he was pretty heavy in melee, but he seems to be lighter now. on a scale of 1 to 10 in heaviness, i'd give him a 6.5 not too light but not very heavy.

There's a picture of him next to Ike, and compared to him, Yoshi looks big! We know he's not heavier than Ike, but I think he will be a heavy set character like in Melee.

:yoshi: Yoshi is heavy in Smash games and a light/mid-lightweight in the party games.

It's all about balance with a bit of realism. When it comes down to it, Yoshi's a dino-dragon. While I don't see why Samus would weigh more in Melee **ahemreallysillydecisionifyouaskmecough**, chances are a dino-dragon isn't exactly a featherweight. Also, keep in mind the other characters...in Mario Kart, you've got your two or three definite heavyweights. Yoshi's weight can be shifted to light, then to avoid the game having too many heavy characters. The same could apply for brawl, although I think while the weight category was pretty balanced, the fallspeed category wasn't really. But that's a different story.

Anyway, for those who are judging by the pictures...size really doesn't have any bearing on weight. Actually, not much really does besides the two factors I just mentioned. Not many people here would believe Peach weighs more than Fox and that Falco is one of the lightest characters in the game.

Anyway, Yoshi needs to stay reeeeeeeeeally heavy! :D Besides, think about how much he eats! Heavy Yoshi is clearly top tier, so he needs to get nice and fat. ^_^

I'm leaning towards middle-weight but a bit more of the floatiness in him. He was a heavy-floaty in melee but with a smaller frame, I wouldn't be surprised if he became a middle-weight-floaty in Brawl.

I did find it weird that Yoshi was heavier than Mario in Melee. Maybe for Brawl, his weight will be closer to Mario's weight.

Yoshi is middle-class weight.

Although in Melee he could lose weight drastically during his double jump, and gain weight while descending from it.

He can change his weight, in a way.
First, he's not middle class weight. Second, he's a dino, thus making him, as would be expected, a heavy-set character. In Brawl, he's still a dino, so I'm expecting him to be a heavy character.

And, I believe when you said Melee, you meant Brawl.

Why? Yoshi's bigger than Mario. Mario RIDES him in Super Mario World! HE'S A DINO!

Thank you. Pictures can be misleading sometimes.
