Looks like IGN got some exclusive pictures today (only 3 though). There is one of interest for this thread, too:

Looks like these guys are charging up their smashes. And this picture gives me more evidence for a theory I've had for a little while. Check out Link's stance in that picture. Now look at Link's stance in this one:

See that he is in the same stance, but much lower? I've also see him pull off his F smash in the video, and I coincidentally paused it on the frame where it flashes as he does the attack. His stance was much higher, like the first picture.

What I think is that the characters may be moving while charging their smashes. For example, Link holds his sword up high when you start to charge the attack, but he slowly goes down into a lower position the longer you hold it. Basically, it doesn't affect gameplay much (outside of letting other people know how long you've charged a smash for) but it is definitely aesthetically pleasing.

Of course, I could be wrong, and it is simply the angle that is making link look like he is lower. But I guess we wont know for awhile, eh?

Ooooh, that definitely makes sense. My first thought was that he's simply aiming higher or lower, but it would make a lot of sense for them to not just magically charge up by standing still, but to actually do something to make the move stronger.

And, looks like we got the start of Pit's Fsmash?

Also something unusual I've noticed in this picture:

Kirby is hitting Wario upwards with his hammer. Although his hammer was in one of the movies and still looks to be horizontal... is there a new way to change directions of it?

Zero Suit Samus: Credit goes to Deus for these pictures!

B attacks =

Down B "This ones a little hard to see but as she pauses in mid air for a second and then shoots down which means its probably one of her B moves instead of a regular aerial"

Neutral B? But Sakurai, you said no guns... And look at the clouds around her feet... Could this be a smash attack instead?

Ground A Attacks =

Down Tilt

Forward Tilt

Dash Attack

Air A Attacks =

Back A

Unknown This may be her normal Forward A, or this could be her Forward A after transforming her gun into a whip.

Smash Attacks =

Up Smash? May also be her up tilt.

I think their taking out the traditional shield bubble and replacing it with a unique guard for each character

I think he said no real guns. Like pistols and machine guns. But I think I snake has a bazooka though.

Edit: Yeah SamuraiPanda, you made a post showing Snake's bazooka or whatever it is.

That would be interesting, but the first 2 pictures, I thought that they looked like they were charging their smashes. Don't know about the last picture though. It could potentially be a block, counter, or down air/down tilt. Who knows. Dx

In the first 2 pictures, they ARE charging their smashes. And here is something interesting: In the trailers and screenshots before Melee was released, they never showed the bubble shield. Why? I dunno, maybe Sakurai thinks they look ugly or because they cover up the character that he's trying to show off.

Unless you see a new How to Play: Blocking update, the bubble shields STILL EXIST, Sakurai just doesn't want to show them.

Gonna have to agree with the whole shield thing, I'm sure they just took out the bubbles so you can actually see the characters in the screenshots. Everyone in melee makes a unique blocking stance when they put up their shield it's just hard to see since they've got a bubble covering them...

@ SamuraiPanda's Zamus moveset

Hmm... the "up smash" looks like Shiek's down smash in Melee...

Don't worry, just leave those three fellas to me. For some reason I seem to be the most passionate debater about this update from what I saw, so I might as well take that duty upon myself. :p

I love what's going on here, but it'd be ALOT easier to navigate if somewhere in the first post or on the first page, you can edit in what characters are on what page.

Trust me, I wish I could put it in the first post/front page. But I can't :D

And I know this thread hasn't been given alot of love recently, but it fell pretty far back.

One of Pikachu's moves in the first post is mistaken. Pikachu's supposed down tilt is actually his side tilt. Down tilt uses Pikachu's legs, while down tilt is a somewhat fast tail sweep while ducking...

Oh, and for Pit, I believe his nair move is actually his uair, since he spins his blades above him kinda like a helicopter... Just my takes on them...

Fixed it. And I think Pit's neutral air isn't his up air because there are alot of neutral air attacks in melee that involve spinning, and honestly, it doesn't seem like he's holding it high enough to be an up air.

But I could be wrong :D

Meta Knight and Pokémon Trainer's Special Attacks--all of the former's and most of the latter's--have been revealed. If you want, I could try to assemble some PT move ideas. PM me if you'd like. Great work, though!

Looks as though the Mortal Draw from TP could be his FS. o_O If he spins around in the next pics and goes for the head, that's it.

That would kick @$$!
