Nice one Egruntz. I think you were accurate on alot of them but you should change sonic's down special to sonci's down aerial. Looks more like a spike and majority of spikes are used by down aerials.Alright! I guess I'll be the first to whoop-up the possible Sonic moveset then! Not all of these moves are completely confirmed to be what I say they are; but I figure that they have the best chances of being such! There's only one move that was a little iffy in the capturing, hopefully I made it clear to others what's going on in all of my pictures.
<Standard Special Move: Spin Dash>
![]()
This move was the most predictable thing that could've came to Sonic. Considering that this is primarily what Sonic does in all of his games (for an attack), there's no way this move wasn't happening. There's only the debate now whether or not this is his Standard Special, or his Forward Special. It could be either, really. But this is what I'll go with for now.
By the looks of it, this move gets charged rather fast, as well as launching rather fast. If the hit connects, it seems like Sonic gets boosted upward in the sky due to knockback. This can lead to some interesting combos; we've already seen a Spin Dash > Bair in the recent Sonic video! Hopefully we can do more with this move!-- recovery, anyone?
<Up Special Move: Spring>
![]()
I personally didn't know what to expect for Sonic's Up-B, but what it turned out to be works out great in my opinion! Obviously, Sonic gets launched rather high into the air, going plainly vertical. It'd be interesting if we could DI ourselves more horizontally, but I guess we'll just have to wait for the demo for that!
In another section of the Sonic video, we see Sonic using this special move in the Skyworld stage, right before his fthrow encounter with Donkey Kong. The spring seems to appear right out of thin-air, and boosts Sonic rather quickly. I couldn't see it working any other way! Simply brilliant, Sakurai!
<Down Special Move: Down-Kick>
![]()
Pardon my unoriginality with the special move title, but what do you expect me to call this attack? This move works very similar to Zero Suit Samus' possible down special move, as seen in the Nintendo World Wide trailer. This move could either be another one of Sonic's specials, or a new fighting-technique. But since there's not a hint of any other move being Sonic's down special (so far), I'll just stick with this for now.
Really, though, I can't think of any fitting move for Sonic's down special.
But then again, I rarely play his games, so I'll just leave that debate to you Sonic lovers!

<Standard Move: Standard Hit Combo>

Punch, punch, kick!
This combo appears to be rather devastating, yet at the same time rather laggy. This move is actually quite relative to Mario’s standard hit combo—y’know, being a “punch, punch, kick!” thing.
<Standard Move: Forward Throw>
![]()
Again, another move that could quite possibly be something different. This throw we see Sonic perform will most likely turn out to be either his down throw, or his forward throw. It looked more like a forward throw to me, so that’s what I’ll go with.
Not much to it: Sonic grabs the opponent, jumps on then, starts spin dashing, and viola!, damage and knockback! This move seems similar to Jigglypuff’s down throw in Melee, where she throws down her opponent and starts trampling over them!
<Standard Move: Up Throw: Yet to be announced!>
<Standard Move: Down Throw: Yet to be announced!>
<Standard Move: Back Throw: Yet to be announced!>
<Standard Move: Back Aerial>
![]()
This is obviously Sonic’s bair attack. It seems rather useful, being both speedy and rather powerful. This move might be the prime move to use combo’d with the Spin Dash before-hand. Sonic’s bair is rather similar to Fox / Falco’s bair in Melee. Otherwise than that, there’s not much else to say on this move.
<Standard Move: Up Aerial>
![]()
As you can see, Sonic is flipped upside-down, with his feet facing straight up toward the sky. This actually is similar to Fox / Falco’s uair in Melee, but it doesn’t seem to share as much as ”umph” as the space critter’s version.
<Standard Move: Forward Aerial: Yet to be announced!>
<Standard Move: Down Smash: Yet to be announced!>
<Standard Move: Down Smash>

Unfortunately, this image fails to give a detailed look at this particular move. In the Sonic video we see Sonic, Peach, Wario, and Bowser all at the Delfino Plaza stage. After Sonic is finished performing his already-known combo (spin dash + bair), Wario, Peach, and Bowser all approach Sonic, who seems to kick all of them in their opposite positions.
Think of this move like Mario’s dsmash from Melee, only Sonic-tized.
(this could very well likely be Sonic’s forward tilt as well, but it’s very hard to tell with such a crowded clip)

I'll edit more into this post when we get more hints of Sonic's other moves.
Until such happens, enjoy what I've got!![]()
I think what you called a dair is a nair. Remember ness's nair how he spins with his arms out? Looks more like that =\LUCAS:

Two of those screenshots show Lucas' hexagonal animations being used for aerial attacks. I'm sensing a theme here...
Ignore this, looking back, it definantly appears to be a grab. Heheh.I willing to bet the move everyone is calling a 'throw' is his down B special, Sonic Meteor. It was in Battle, Adventure 2 and even Sonic 3 (Bubble Shield).
Good guess, we both were right on that one.Kelexco said:His spindash doesn't necessarily cause him to jump up, as you can see in the part right before your screenshot is taken, he slides back and forth with it and hits mario a few times in the process.
The only reason I said DAir was because the hexagon is at the tip of Lucas' foot--which, in this case, is almost directly below him.I think what you called a dair is a nair. Remember ness's nair how he spins with his arms out? Looks more like that =\
