I realize I've been inactive recently. Not inactive persay. I think a lot of the problems you guys notice, I don't see as much of an issue. Regardless, if you guys think they are then they are. So, what kinds of things should I keep my eye out for?

You can take down my Counter Game, it's active enough that even without the sticky it will stay on the front page. My tourney is also almost over so that can come down soon.

There's not really anything else you can do, save be a little more active, JESIAH o.o There's no real spam or anything huge here in the PC that needs major modding, just the occasional topic that needs to be closed. We don't have enough spam or random **** that the PC needs to be worried and you guys are fine at what you do(although you could be little more active JESIAH) I do suggest randomly changing titles of threads though, that ****'s funny

That is illogical and rash.

I'd say just closely monitor any threads for questions that are answered in the FAQ.
Infract those that break the SWF Global Rules (spam, illegal ROMs, etc.).

Both have been staples in the Poke Center for quite some time and remain some of the most popular threads that the Poke Center has to it's name. Also, both require sufficient knowledge of the Pokemon game to be used, therefore, moving them to "General Gaming" and "General Art" forums is unneeded. There is no reason to move them, they do not contribute to some of the problems around these boards, in fact, I would say that the CPS and Counter Game have helped the Poke Center flourish!

I think we are on an upward slope as of tonight ^.^

You have ur opinion, I have mine. IMO, if the chain link thread is conisdered a fourm game then so should the counter game. Also, the cps takes much more graphics knolege than pokeman knolege so it should go thar.

No, that doesn't make any sense. I don't think any of the threads in the first three pages that aren't locked are spam-fests. Mindlessly locking that many threads is rather stupid.

Counter Game, no. What you don't realize is that it requires a fair amount of Pokemon knowledge to participate in that thread. Regular Forum Gamers won't necessarily have the knowledge. It would become trash.

I say no for TCPS as well. For one, what Meta-Kirby said. For another, the Artwork Emporium tends to be for artwork, for trying to perfect work and such. TCPS has never been about that. We only work to let people see sprites and such that they want to see. The AE has a whole different atmosphere than the PC.

I respect your opinion entirely, but I don't think you understand how much sufficient and precise knowledge both of these threads need in order to be successful.

The Chain-Link Game does not require any sufficient knowledge of Pokemon. A simple search engine and a playthrough of Red/Blue from when you were 4 years old gets you by.

Surprisingly, alot, actually. Spriting, as an artform and application to Pokemon, is entirely different than any graphic, digital, or manual artform. It's rather a combination of all artforms.
Plus, you need to be familiar with all 493 Pokemon and their anatomy (body types, height, etc.), their attacks, and the "types" of trainers in the game.

But describing this to you is a moot point. The fact of the matter is, The Counter game and TCPS are not hindering this thread. There are more pressing issues to focus upon.

About Umbreon's demodding...

I am actually very sad. We are partners in everything, best friends IRL and he taught me the ins and outs of Pokemon. I was once an incredible battler, and I wouldn't have been able to develop such a unique style in such a short amount of time if it wasn't for him.

He is more knowledgeable about the game than anyone, having memorized nearly every stat relevant to competitive play, since RBY. He can compete at the highest level of play with ease, create the most deadly of teams within hours and minimal testing. He has found loopholes in the games programming and utilized them to come up with methods to do such tedious things such as breeding perfectly. My point?

You have just let go quite possibly the most knowledgeable, skilled Pokemon player...ever.

Now, the reason why I'm actually upset has nothing to do with our friendship. Yes, I enjoy working with him, but when it comes to business, I have to look at it from a business viewpoint. But admittedly, I can't see into people's minds and figure out exactly why people wanted him gone. So, Umbreon, myself and a few other members of the Poke Center had a chat on AIM. If anyone has the chat, most likely Umbreon, I would like a log of it. I will summarize it for you.

It started off with Umbreon asking them what was wrong. The first thing out of one of the member's mouths was: "You are known for infracting a lot of people, making people scared to post," or something very similar to that.

Truth? Umbreon hasn't handed out a single infraction in the Poke Center. That was just the start of the chat.

It basically came down to the Poke Center members admitting very bluntly that Umbreon has made good progress in increasing activity in the Poke Center, managing the Strategy Pokedex in my absence and providing useful feedback most of the time, and admitting that, and I quote one of the members, they "believe that he (Umbreon) should be friendlier and more welcoming."

At that point I left the chat.

Guys...If this was the problem, couldn't you have said something? He was really demodded because he should be friendlier and more welcoming?! We could have taken care of this!

I realize he has spoken with Azua on a separate occasion about the "problem." I am not condoning his actions or saying he wasn't very friendly or inviting. The way he acts is his own problem. Those of us that know him understand that 99% of the time he is joking. He is one of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met, paying for my food and helping with my Bus ticket whenever I head to PA to visit him.

I guess I'm just upset that you guys couldn't have contacted him and explained to him what you felt he was doing wrong. Please contact me if I'm doing something wrong guys. I don't want the same thing to happen to me.

However, I realize that the past is the past and we need to move forwards. That being said, I'm planning on looking at things more closely from now on. Any suggestions, comments or advice, post in this thread. After that, PM's work good.

Let's hope something like this doesn't happen again, and look forward to flourishing as a community.

I dunno why I have to keep saying this but I was going to suspend him due to the mod complaints I was getting from other mods, not from members.

the "not giving infractions" thing was part of the problem :/
