To me, a "classic" is something that can be enjoyed just as much when it was first released several years after the fact. Now what games can actually be considered a "classic" is completely subjective and expressing your thoughts on this will often get you chewed out by immature twenty-something-year-olds for how you could ever possible compare (insert game here) to the legacy of a "true classic" like Mega Man II.

But ignoring that, what are games that you personally consider to be classics? What games do you think could be played years after their launch and still be enjoyed?

I own the Dreamcast version of that. Never gotten far since I'm working on Grandia that I got off of PSN.

Games that are classics to me that I enjoy are Mega Man II, Final Fantasy VI, Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid, and Brave Fencer Musashi.

I have too many to post, but the games that I believe aged the best (that I have) that are pre-128-bit gen were Mario Party 3, Super Smash Bros, Destruction Derby, Super Mario All-Stars, Yoshi's Island, and Star Fox. The arcade versions of Daytona USA and Cruis'n USA are also a blast to play when I can locate them, even though they're over 15 years old each now.

I think Pokemon Red and Blue are great classics. I actually picked mine up the other day. I love how none of the pokemon sprites in R/B look like how they do in any other media lol

Old Nintendo FFs, the PS1 games (FF, Chrono Trigger/Cross, etc) Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc etc.

Also, Grandia I/II. Classic rpg for me, with a dead(awesome) god.

I'll occasionally boot up my old original Xbox to play a bit of Blinx or Timesplitters. Given that the latter's made by the same people who did Goldeneye, that's pretty much a given. :)

^ One of the hardest NES games, but so rewarding when you can wall jump, land and not die due to fallen projectiles.
