there's no way to tell by looking at it, you just have to feel it out for yourself

Dude, if you're more specific I can probably answer whatever questions you have on breaking controllers in. If there's one thing about Melee I know a lot about, it's breaking in controllers lol.

You should always buy new controllers btw

Use it

Seriously though the only way its going to get broken in is if you techskill or play a lot. My biggest issue with controllers are usually the control stick and the shoulders, so I usually practice movement a lot when I have a new controller.

Well yeah, using it is the best way to break it in.

What I'm concerned about is first of all, those 3 controllers aren't perfectly good, there's no way dude. Your tech skill probably isn't at the level it needs to be for you to be able to tell controllers apart. I mean if it's working for the level you're at then that's fine, but if you're aiming high in this community, then you're def gonna have to eventually get a new one. IMO at least.

Like people have already said, the best way to tell if you controller is worn in is if its comfortable to use.

Best way from my experience lol, pull on the stick. I'm not sure if its just me or if its GCN controllers in general but my stick on my main controller pops out and pushes in from so many moonwalks. Its got like 3-4 years of wear on it.

It depends on how much practice you put into your controller. I have a white controller right now and I used to feel a bit frustrated 3 months ago whenever I miss this tech or L-Cancel (because I am overly competitive sometimes). But now I feel really comfortable at times. I try not to let other players use my controller because it feels different afterwards.

Oh god dont even remind me of that, my friend actually tore the rubber off one of my controller's sticks and used it as is because his fingers are so calloused from playing guitar. I was like damn!
