I feel like I have problems with movement and combos, but I don't know how to fix that.
I do think I'm getting better though

Well it definitely looks like you're getting better. By the end of this video you seem to have a hang on controlling Wario.
As far as movement and combos you just need to play more.

You still need to LCancel your aerials and Techroll. Play people who at least tech.

I know its a kind of cop out response but theres not much I can say till theres techchases involved.
At the very least you seem accustomed to all of his moves.

Dear Reflex,
Please don't be so good with winning (tournies) with Wario that the rest of the PM dev team feel the need to nerf him

Hey guys, I played in a tourney a few weeks ago and played as our lovable fatso, I was wondering what you guys think of my game play in the games i fought on stream. I started off vs a mewtwo and beat him and then he went toon link and next i faced a mario and he 2-0ed me :/ I was definitely feeling the tourney pressure on that one.

I forgive you lol, it's the attempt that counts. Overall duder, it seemed this boiled down to match up inexperience. I cringed everytime you had bad di on ike's down throw, also you didn't seem to know how to edge guard him, but to be fair, not a lot of people do. All things considering you had good bite mix ups/strings and ok ish adaptation. You can clearly see from game 1 to 2 that you were getting used to ike's range, throws still gave you trouble though. There are other things I noticed, but this is just the things I can point out immediately.

The issue with the dthrow I feel is IIRC in brawl it sent you in front of Ike so I initially, and repeatedly tried to DI out on reaction, but it doesn't work that way in PM. I think it even has the same animation.

It has the same animation, but I've never fought ike in brawl, so I've never had that problem. I can see why you did that if that's the case.

How would you recommend I edgeguard Ike instead btw? Should I just go full-out 2nd hit nair, bair etc?

I have had minor success in the past with getting first hit up on his aether for stage spikes, but that's hardly viable.

If spaced correctly, you can hit ike at the top of his up b with a downward angled forward tilt and its relatively guaranteed hit.

That's the safest way to do it, but that only works if he's trying to sweet spot. Generally you want to hog the ledge against him so you can force him to try to land on the stage or use side b, both of which can be beat out pretty easily. For up b, you want to wait until he throws his sword, then fall off the ledge with a nair, or dair it, cause he can't really drift with it that much. You could also force him to land on the stage with well timed ledge hops and then ledge hop bair him back out there. Maybe other methods but I can't think of them at the moment.

If you know for sure that your ledgehop bair won't reach, use lh bite into sb/waft. Your opponent will almost always DI for your bite bthrow, so if his % is high enough, throw him towards center stage and land a sweet uair.

Ugh you played so good that last match with that falcon. I think that one side b off the stage really buried you in that match, as well as that disgusting uair string he got on your last stock. You died at such a low percent, made me sad lol. I'll have to check out the other ones when I get the chance.

Idk, kind of an odd coincidence as I fought a good falcon this weekend. We've had a bit of a rivalry since the beginning of this year, and he actually hasn't taken a set off me until this weekend, just barely put me in losers in winners finals. It's a shame the venue closed and we had to split the pot. It was already 2-1 my favor and I had a good bit of momentum going, and I'm sure he wanted to beat me fair and square. It's also a shame that there was no recording setup, we always have great matches that usually go to the last game. Shoutouts to @TheKmanOfSmash for some amazing sets.

Looking back I think I lost both last games against the Falcons (partly) because of bad side-B's... Gotta look out for those.

Why does it seem like Wario players end up fighting a lot of falcon?
For me it was Rebaz doing exceptionally well and Jeapie suddenly deciding that he does play Falcon in this game (3.5 engine changes help). Previously nobody playing Falcon was getting high placings.

Ugh I hate Falcon lol. Darkrain being in your region will do that to you. Like 6-1 vs him but it's so unfun getting u-throw combo'd forever =(

So how does the chain grab actually work? Is it based on DI? Or does it just work up to a certain %? The falcon MU is one thats really killing me atm, as it seems everyone has a pocket falcon, and even just some basic skills can beat most of what wario does (not to mention how hard it is to get a bite)

you get CG'd by dthrow if you DI in, and uthrow if you DI out (not for as long). dthrow takes a lot longer so just react to the animation.

Finally got the vids from the early December tourney - the main vid I'd want critique on is the grand finals set, vs. Egg. I asked him about the random side-B spamming at the start of the second match and he explained that it was his way of de-sodiuming himself after the dumb death in game 1. Anyway, Wario vid dump.

...tips on COMMENTARY would be appreciated as well. The WSU crowd has a tendency to use "oohs," "aahs," and "good X by Y" quite a lot. I'm admittedly not much better. Apologies for the video quality at times.

Just from the first match of yours i can tell you a few things. You should try and abuse warios aerial mobility more itll allow you to take advantage of more openings. Also you bite too much in neutral, ill admit its agreat option when you hit it but you shouldnt fish for it so much. Try and use bite when you scare them into shield since its much easier to land on a stationary target. Also grab moar, warios grabs give you follow ups on every throw(personally i like back throw since wario=gimp city)
