You want crappy game play? You want crappy junction system? You want monotounes gameplay? You want hot females? Play FFX-2, the single WORST FF game to ever come into the world, hands down. That game sucks so much, it isn't even funny. FFVII-Dirge of Cerberus was pretty bad too.
FF8 is pure ****. I hated Leon's emo ***(that's not where i got my name). The summons are cool in any game, but when you have to waste your ****** life to level up your character high enough so that you don't use summons, that's the point where any game turns into crap.

Actually I would still highly prefer to play OOT over WW. Like.. right now. if you gave me the choice, i'd say OOT. But then again I think OOT is the best game ever.... so w/e.
And yes, I'll admit 7 was good when it came out. I even used to like it. But all the hype and fanboys and exaggeration made me hate it. I just dont think it deservers as much praise as it gets.
Also his name is SQUALL. not leon. get it right. KH ruined him lol. And squall was no more emo than cloud.

Squall isnt emo. Yes he was sad when ellone left. But he was also like 8 years old. when he gets older he is just quiet and doesnt like anyone. it's not like he's some crybaby.

Did you see hat it looks like in PSM? It looks way better than any FF ever made before, and I think it is. I'm getting it and playing it the day it omes out

Listlen, no FF fan has the right to call another FF fans faveorite character a emo. EVERY FF CHARACTER IS EMO. I love Final Fantasy, even tho I haven't played them all. I have played: 1, 2 ,American 3, Jappinise 3(Computer), I'm going to get 3 for the DS, 7 (Duh, it IS my fave.), 10, 11, CC, and the one and two remake for the gba. All of the Characters are major pill popping emos! ( What do you think is in the healing potions, huh?)
Also no matter which one is the best FF7 is the most recongised, I belive that every FF fan can agree to that, and if you can't than you dont know that theres a FF7 anime, FF7 movie, a FF7 cell phone game, a FF7 FPS, the orignal game, and although Square-enix has stated that it is only a tech demo everyone know the orignal is going to be remade on PS3.

FF7 is also being remade for the PSP but since the PSP was such a flop i couldn't care i will wait til it comes out for PS3.... and i couldn't care if it has updated graphics or not... but just the fact that it will be FF7 i will buy it... FF7 was way better then FF8... i personally think that FF9 was crap... crap i tell u crap.... it had a horrible storyline and was just irratating to me to play.... but if u think that Clouds sword was too long then maybe u should check out the most evil villian Square has every created Sephiroth.... now that sword is like a million times longer then clouds (hyperbole)

It's apperant that the whole "best FF ever" argument is just a war of opinions that's going nowhere fast. Sooner or later, we'll just be throwing out flames and attacking everyone in our own defense. who cares what the best FF ever is, this thread is for CLOUD, let's leave it at that.

actualy, cloud will have to be on a nintendo system sooner ot later. because square is remaking all of the FF games for the GBA/DS, its going to be soon that we see a DS relese of FF7

The PSP may not be the BEST system out there, but it has it's gems (Tekken: dark resurection, Twisted Metal: Head On, death Jr., Ultimate Ghost 'n' Goblins, need I continue?)

All the Final Fantasy games have been remade I - IV, and with the announcement of remaking V and VI, we'll just have to wait and see what Square and Nintendo plans to do when they hit VII.

Umaro and GoGo (i think that was his or her name) wasn't emo.
Of the FF6 characters, you could only really count the two main girls as "Emo." The rest of the cast is pretty dang solid when it comes to that.

I'd prefer Tidus over Cloud ANYDAY.
There'd be an awesome stage on top of Cid's airship with Sin in the background firing sinspawn
onto the deck that run about and attack, and the airship itself could also fire Samus-style homing ones.

DUDE yo i ain't tryin to bash u or flame u but if u actually have seen how Tidus was and how Cloud was... there is a HUGE DIFFERNCE.... Cloud is THE MAN.... noone from FF8-11 has the potential to even daydream of reaching the status that Cloud has obtained.... Cloud was by far way better then Tidus... i suggest to go replay FF7 and pay attention to the storyline and see how Cloud was and his reactions and the ENEMY HE HAD TO FACE..... Sin was a piece of crap, he was a blob of crap that threw out some lil fish at you to try to kill u.... i personally think that Cloud oversees all......
This is IMO... i just don't think Squall, Tidus, whatever the main in 9 is actually called, and same thing with 11.... i think that 9 was crap, and the same thing with X-2, and 11.... and the way that they have changed the battle system for 12, it is just like an upgraded Zelda game... IMO i wouldn't even dare to get into or try 12 since they changed the battle system, and that was the best system they had goin... IMO

BarBino, its that kind of severe Fanboyism that makes Cloud haters hate Cloud. You don't just say: "BLANK charcter rules and BLANK charcter sucks. EXPECALLY sence you didn't give reasons. Also to not play a game beceause its different has to be the dumbest reason I've ever heard. Kindgom Hearts, Disney charcters plus Final Fantsay charcters? Sounds TERRIABLE. Don't shoot something down before you at least get a chance to try it.

This is why people hate FF7 fanboys. And BTW, XII uses the BEST battle system I have seen in any RPG.
Also: XII is my new favorite FF game, but I still hold VIII and VII very dear to my heart

Cloud isnt that great. and neither is "the enemy he had to face." Sephiroth did NOTHING. oh god, aeris is dead. big whoop. he hides in a cave the whole game.
Sin may have been a kind of lame enemy but he destroyed entire civilizations. multiple times. and was an evil force for over a thousand years.
Kuja was girly and wore a thong lol. but he blew up cities and his own home planet.
as for the heros.
Cloud just mourned aeris the whole time. his poor flower girl that he just met.
Zidane... iono. he was kinda cool. little monkey guy. he was entertaining at least.

Aight to everyone that calls me a FF7 fanboy.... u say wha u want... I absolutely used to hate ALL RPG GAMES.. until one day my friend told me to play FF7 (this is back in 2003), I played it and i honestly didn't like it in the beginning... i thought it was crap... i played it some more since all my friends told me bout the first 2-3 hrs wasn't that exciting... i continued and then the storyline picked up to something that was something that i wasn't expecting at all... i can absolutely agree 100% with wha SquareSoft had said bout the game.... that it was the only game that brings tears to ur eyes.... b/c of wha happened... it was unexpected (i mean it was expected that it would happen, but not that fast, and not the way it did happen)... and that is wha made that game grab me into it and lose a massive amount of my time and made my grades in school drop a lot...
Then i played FF8 afterwards, and i will admit that FF8 would be the 2nd best storyline i thought back in 2003.... (remember i never played any of the other FF games) and the better thing that FF8 had over FF7 (besides updated graphics) was some of the overdrives that they had... like LionHeart was basically OmniSlash with more hits, and u could add more damage if u had the timing down on the Gun Sword.... so yea the Gun Sword was a nice addition IMO
But i have recently played FF1 & FF2, I plan on playing FF3 when it is rereleased... and I have to hunt for FF4-FF6.... and i refuse to play FF11 due to the fact that it is crap, and u can only play it online (horrible idea IMO) ... and I personally think that FF1 & FF2 are up there on GREAT GAMES... I would rank Final Fantasy Games as this:
1 - FF7
2 - FF8
3 - FF1
4 - FF2
5 - FFX

FFX was mediocre, they added voices, but it was horrible in English, they should've given an option to have *** voices and English Subtitles, the music was a good thing.... summoning the GFs was a nice addition, it gave more then FF8 gave as of summoning them... and u were able to control em... I would have to say the best thing that FF has introduced to us was the Materia.. that was GENIUS IMO.... but i would say that the storyline for FF9 was horrible... i played it for 5 hours and was a complete was of my time... too childish for my taste...

Cloud was awesome, and my favourite FF hero... just because he mourned Aeris the whole game doesn't take away from him.
Squall was annoying, seriously he annoyed the hell out of me with his personality, they slightly salvaged him in KH but in FF-VIII he was terrible.
And as for Zidane... well I can't say much as I got far too bored with FF-IX to get to the end (I'm terribly close but I can't justify finishing it)
