If you get good at Brawl you'll see that it's a dodge fest and a very stale game. I'll let you guys get good and what not just to get bored and abandon Smash. Eventually Melee players will remain and make up the whole community.
Says the Pit player.

What about me? Ima 64 player :)

Anyways I agree with OP. I mean if you want to make up another Brawl vs Melee and another competitive post, should make it in the dozens of other threads you helped create.

Sure you like melee that's cool. Like it better then brawl that's cool too. But you can stop shoving your opinions down the throats of other users. Especially on the brawl forums :)

It's funny how people worship a moderator when he says something like this. But when a common Smashboard member says it, he's flamed to Kingdom Come.
Reasons:

1-Moderators tend to know more about the game
2- Most other Smash Boarders defending Brawl are new to the community
3- Most moderators will agree that Melee has superior gameplay

If you don't think Melee has superior gameplay, make an essay and I will kindly respond to it.

Eh? I thought it was more your type to just spout out posts with the intelligence of a 12-year-old or say "Don't agree with me? Go read Scar's/Gimpy's thread!"

Edit: D'oh, doublepost.

I see no logic in this response...

Agreed. I opened this thread expecting to see all the flamers who love to attack people who post these kinds of topics, but I guess they'll only go after people with low post counts.
(Not disagreeing with the OP by the way, just I've seen new topics on Brawls competitiveness get ripped to shreds in the past.)

Then I rest my case.

Your posts are predictable, lack intelligence, and are often redundant. also, you once replied to a thread posting something along the lines of, "You know what, I'm not even goingto argue with you if you dissagree. Just go read Scar's or Gimpy's thread."

As much as I'd love to play Brawl for for entertainment, socializing, and competition. It fails in all these areas for me.

1) Melee is more entertaining. I just prefer games where I have options and can actually make some progress. Its way more fun seeing all the absurd things people can do that normally one would not think of or exploring all the possibilities that are there. The game allows for things like that. In comparison, playing Brawl feels like sitting in a cage.

2) Socialize about what? In Melee, we would always talk about those insane/unexpected combos that Melee was know for, some new tech to work on, or just games that are fun to watch. Theres really not much outside the game for Brawl. There are about 2 techniques worth mentioning, battles are not as fast paced and there is a lot more camping. There were battles in Melee people would go out of their way to link them to you because they were so fun to watch, yet those people don't seem to do the same for Brawl. The game is just underwhelming.

3) Competition? This has been beaten to death, I don't need to mention it.

Now, I never said that people should go play Meleel because of my opinions. Even I still play Brawl sometimes. By all means play Brawl, have fun, socialize about it, compete with it, if thats what you want to do.

However, what makes it ok to post narrow minded opinions and tell people what to play based off them? I expected more from you phanna.
I can feel the win of this post.

I think some people are missing the even grander point of all this. Discussions about Brawl that go against the game in any way have, 90% of the time, referred back to Melee. Here's the thing though: WE ARE IN THE BRAWL BOARDS. If you want to talk about another game, post in another board. Period.

Most people who are fully enjoying Brawl are done drawing comparisons.

Opinions are great things to have. Different people like different things. I hazzard to guess, however, that more Smash fans find Brawl the more entertaining game.
The difference here is, I don't go around telling people what they should play based on my opinions.

Certainly, just looking at Melee now actually makes my eyes bleed.
Thats just pure bias. The graphical difference between Melee and Brawl is small compared to current generation PC games. Melee is 4:3 480p whereas Brawl is 16:9 480p with a bit more detail. Thats about 30 000 pixels vs. 40 000 pixels vs. well over 2 000 000 pixels with a decent monitor. If Melee makes your eyes bleed after playing Brawl, you would go blind from playing Brawl after seeing any current gen pc game or even a trailer.

Socialize about anything. Brawl is a fanatstic game for meeting people, having some laughs and generally enjoying one's self. And since Brawl appeals to a wider demographic, it is superior in this regard.
Its also possible to socialize about anything while playing Melee. More people does not make it a wider demographic. Both casual and competitive players liked Melee, the game was fun to play from both aspects, while brawl is just focuses on one of those.

Indeed. Because everyone already knows that a game which more people compete is... more competitive.
I guess that was almost funny.

I've been pretty good at chess ever since I mastered Wavecastling.
This post alone wins the thread, on so many deep levels. It's simply amazing.

EDIT: Another thing which is simply amazing, is just how far DragonBlade missed the point of this thread. Like... I'm in awe.

^^^what the hell is that picture??

lol
That is from one of those old Phillips CD-I Zelda games like the wand of gamalon.

I like fun, I will play Brawl. People who like fun should play it. If it isn't fun for them don't play it. I don't get what is so god ****ed hard about understanding this simple fact. If you don't like Bowling, do you go onto Bowling forums and bash their game? I didn't think so. So why do it here. Take the game as it is or don't take it at all.

Melee players taking over the community? Not going to happen. Brawl is here to stay.

because they're trolling us you idiot. How stupid can you get? They're trolling us on our own turf under our noses and the moderators are jacking off to porn somewhere.

See post above me for an example.

rule 1 of trolling; contradict the subject. You can do it reasonably and smart, or do it blatantly out there. But you have to contradict it. Thats why you go onto a competetive forum saying competition is weak (using terms like tourney***s) or saying something that'd denote against it, go onto a mvc forum pretending that you can't understand why people say there are broken games out there - to mock its lack of balance, or better yet, go onto a brawl forum speaking about melee's superiority.

The thing about trolling is that it doesn't always have to contradict logic. It can be faultless logic but be trolling due to what context its presented in. This is why Yuna's a troll, its context which decides what trolling is and what it isn't, not content.

Context entirely, son. In the context of a brawl general forum, constantly making no hitstun refferences and bringing up anti Brawl arguments, no matter how intelligent, its... What you call, a trollattempt, dumbfuuck~!

When I see random jabs at the games defensive playstyle with stuff like 'NO HITSTUN LULZ' which isn't entirely true anyway its basically like going onto an mvc2 board and saying the game has 3 usable characters, and you hope it has 6 next time. However true it may be, mvc2 players, probably wouldn't give a ****.

obviously I bet no ones going to do anything about it. If anything I'm finding it hilarious to sit back and watch it.

Just clearing up confusion for you orin. Not trying to enact responses from other members here, just stating the truth about what trolling in particular is. I remember some posts from allisbrawl saying all some of them did was troll here, and some of them are brawl vets. They're all among us.

I'm just bringing you up to speed, so you don't feel lost as to why they're all trying to make discussion as useless as possible (read above post)

Your a ******. To contradict someone isn't trolling, its debate. And Im not trolling, there are huge amounts of people who DONT ENJOY BRAWL! Why should we be forced to move on?

haha you're foolish as hell. by contradiction I mean contradiction of a community or groups entire purpose, not ones point. Do you know how to read? Trolling sf community for example would be going into the sf board, and saying EX shoryu is a good idea for a cross up - btw, someone did this for a joke, was hilarious, and no, its not a good idea, it gets you killed and a free combo. Its awful advice, doesn't go anywhere, and enacts negative responses.

You can contradict someones opinion, but not lead it away from the purpose of the board repeatedly. Especially when you've beaten the subject into the ground. Just shows you're a troll, really.

You don't have to move on. Ain't gonna change jack. The games out. You had no say in it.

You can keep whining as opposed to just playing melee. (I often prefer certain prequels in many series, not just fighting, for the sake of technicality and complication in comparison to their brethren.)

Go play Brawl.

What if we don't find Brawl fun or competitive and have other ways of socializing? I mean, some of us honestly think Brawl is worse than Melee and as such do not enjoy playing it. Whats left for us?

Im not talking about discussing Melee im talking about the general forcing of Brawl into the competitive scene without even a slight amount of testing. Its just "New game, **** the old one, we're playing this cus its shiny"

the same tourny chums you played melee before will gladly play melee over brawl with you if they follow the same opinion as you. If not then I guess your opinion is wrong to them.
