Well, thanks for the positive feedback, but come on. XD There's plenty of things I'm not doing and things I can do better. Half of them I can see, but I'd like to see what you guys think.

I know I need to be more technical and use more mindgames. Anybody want to give some examples? C=

I think you need to apply more pressure while playing. That's one thing I noticed it lacked. By pressure, I mean more close-range combat, and a little less laser camping. Also, up tilts are good too - the second hit has enough range to get your foe off your back. Finally, when you're facing a Samus, you might want to be extra careful to use your reflector when necessary.

That's all I got, but feel free to add on.

Nice falco but i would like to share some things.

1) At some points u were impatient and sometimes lazy (lazy being that sometimes you would get hit by zair twice in that samus video "smashville". Overall good u can see for yourself that once u started dodging those zair's u stopped taking those silly points of damage and started to get momentum for a little while.

2) when you are doing your "lazer game" sometimes it felt like you were limiting yourself with only forward jump lazers and backflip single lazers. During 3:09 - 3:12 u used your running momentum followed by lazers in the other direction, use more of that and i wouldnt hurt to use a double jump fastfall single lazer once in a while

3) use tilts more, you used them which was good but use them just that little bit more, its good for spacing.

4) if you notice your opponent doing something often then punish them!!your opponent liked to jump alot so that running momentum lazer thing that you did in the first vid would work wonders plus a ftlit aimed up will help if you predict his jump from close.

hope i could help! :urg:

I watched your matches and thought to myself, "Good falco. Keeps it simple."

However there are some things I noticed which you can work on. In all of your videos I think, there would be moments where you just stopped moving, in pretty vulnerable places. Personally I think that falco should always be on the move, pressuring the opponent with lasers or aerials. The only reasons to stop is if your opponent is charging a smash and you're about to run into it, or for 'mindgames'. When you stop, I don't think it's really for any of these purposes and it made me think you were very vulnerable to a surprise attack or grab.

There were some moments where you chose to approach with a dashing shield. This isn't really a good idea, especially when you have lasers which create a better opening for a grab opportunity.

I really have no idea what's stopping you from getting better. What I've mentioned are pretty minor. Maybe you should try adding more jabs and tilts to your game, since when I was watching your videos your playstyle seemed slow. Hope I helped.

I think Vlade has pretty much summed it up. But I have a few questions...

Could you show more videos of you playing your friends? If you can show videos of you losing against one of your friends, that'd be great, because it'd be easier to determine what your weak points are (the reasons why you lost). Or do you destroy them all the time? ^^

Great basic understanding of this character. If you keep working on this, it becomes second nature just like everything else in this game.

Thanks guys. You're definitely helping.

Here's my main problem though. It seems I have two different play styles. Sometimes I'm on the ground a lot using tilts and jabs and grabs with your average falco game mixed in.

Other times I focus on the air game.

It's kinda like if I'm doing one thing right, I'm ignoring the other part.
If I could think more and add in all aspects of his game, I know I would do much better.

And any other opinions are greatly appreciated.

Post some vids where you lose, that way we can see why you lost and correct your errors.
Since I can't find anything else wrong in the vids, this is probably your best bet if you want further improvement. Otherwise, great job and congrats on making the Falco Back Room!

Warning: noobish question!

The Falco Back Room
Select Falco (Brawl) players come here to discuss Falco tactics, matchups etc.

What are the conditions to join the Falco Back Room?

Make intelligent posts on the Falco boards. Or show some vids of you kicking ***. Or go to tournaments and place well. Or you can videotape yourself banging Jessica Alba and if she screams "Hands Off My Bread!", you'll probably get in.

O.K... All four conditions are a bit hard, but I think I'll go probably for the first one. The second is possible (I do play quite well with Falco honestly), but who should I play against? The third is also possible, but I live in this stupid little country in Europe called Portugal (these ******* only play football and FPS). I guess the fourth is difficult to afford.

But hey, one day or another, I'll get there.

Lol, I live in England, where either you have no life if you play video games or if there happens to be a smasher they main Link only. I'm lucky enough to have done all my Melee practice which carried over to Brawl somewhat with my cousins in America.
Lol @ Football. Cristiano Ronaldoooo!

Well, I guess I have nothing to complain about. Portugal is more of a Sony than Nintendo territory. As for most of my friends, they only buy the PS3 to play the next Pro Evolution Soccer game, and maaaaybe a bit of GTA.

@ C. Ronaldo: gosh, I hate this guy soooo much. Everyone here is going so nuts about Gaynaldo, but he's such a pretentious *****.

By the way, I'm not portuguese, I just lived in various countries in Europe (french).

Jesus, way to keep this on topic. lol
actually, i got a bit more to add from watching M@V vs. you.
you made a very crucial mistake in last stock, 2nd match. you were up ~50% and he was camping with his shine. what you did was keep the aggressive game with lasers, got the majority of them reflected on you, and it seemed like you got a bit....frustrated...and approached him, leading to making a mistake and getting KO'ed by an usmash at only 80%.

now, what you should have done: nothing. yeah, sounds weird right? but if you are ahead in %, and fox is doing NOTHING to keep pressure on you and is instead camping with a shine, that's exactly what you should do: nothing. this will force him to approach or at least try to outcamp you, so you can shdl->immediate reflector. i believe you should have won that set 2-0. anyways, when they are at KO %s, it's tempting to go in and try to land a smash, but it's good to ALWAYS think about your options before acting. hope this helped, also, won't worry about it TOO much, most of this stuff comes from experience, the more you have, the better your in-match decision-making will be.

Yea i know i should have won the set 2-0. I also missed crucial edge hogs in both games i lost. >_<

So basically when a fox is shine camping, space far enough away from his lasers and just taunt? XD

sure. not very "honorable", but hey, you're playing to win xD
forcing him to approach with lasers is the right idea...on characters without reflectors. since fox does, all you need to do is play keep-away until he gets tired and approaches, then punish when he makes a mistake.
