You guys know what I'm talking about.

Below, I've drawn the correct distances for canceling your drill rush in various places on Battlefield, and one on Smashville you may or may not know about.

Red- One of the more basic starting points, popularized by M2K. You begin at the edge of the platform. (NOT at the very edge of the platform, though. Walk back a bit before performing it)

Green- As you run and slide off the platform, use drill rush. Done correctly, you can dip down and cancel it at the edge of the stage.

Blue- After canceling a drill rush on the end of the platform (or just by jump up and correctly measuring the distance), you can then drill rush again to the edge of the top platform.

Purple- Begin the drill rush just before those two lines in the middle of the stage angle in towards each other. Cancel at the edge of the stage.

Cyan- To cancel drill rush along this path, drop off the ledge and drill rush straight into it. After a split second, angle yourself up towards the middle of the closest platform. Then straighten yourself out and cancel it on the end of the platform.

Black- Begin a drill rush at the edge of the circle. Then IMMEDIATELY pull straight up on the control stick. At the correct distance, begin to flatten the drill rush out at the edge of the top platform.

Orange- Begin using drill rush above the edge of one of the bottom platforms. (just after the edge of it, I think)

Orange- If you jump up and drill rush at the very edge of the moving platform you can cancel it at the other end. To get a good grasp of the correct distance, roll towards the very edge of the back end of the moving platform. Once the platform reaches top speed, drop off/back and immediately begin your drill back onto the moving platform. You'll cancel it at the end.

If anyone knows where Fiction's showcase of Meta Knight's drill rush canceling on Battlefield is, I'd like to display it in this thread. ;/

Hope you guys were able to pick up something.
Experiment with these and try find some good uses for them. I know I have. :bee:

Gah, it seems he displayed pretty much all of the ones I mentioned here for battlefield. <.<

Oh well.

edit: Well, I guess this thread can serve the purpose of raising awareness of this technique. :D

Awesome, thanks DanGR. I've always vaguely known where to start them but this gives an excact location. I don't really use these in matches as it is, but I may start practicing and using them more. Does anyone else use them?

I have these on every stage, haven't made a video or IMG yet. :(

You'll notice on every stage there are actually things you can look for that show when you need to over-b. On Smashville, for example, the 3rd light from the edge. They exist on every stage. Bolts on delfino, yellow/black bars on halberd.... it's like it was designed for that purpose.

there's actually a lot of stuff like this I've noticed, like a lot of stages have visual indicators for auto canceled tornado(although some of the most blatant ones are banned stages that were probably clearly going to be illegal in competitive play to begin with...)

I know all the locations for drill rush cancels for tournament stages. It's pretty broken because of the ******** things you can do after it cancels at the ledge (assuming the opponent is at the ledge)
