@toph-it was a pretty goodsmashfest. It just felt productive, like no giggles no excessively stupid joke, just good *** smash.

this is why nobody in washington cares to go to tournaments. hint: it's not because they don't enjoy playing melee, and it's not because they don't want to be down $10...
and nobody is going to "improve" (care about the tourney scene) until it changes

i think thats just why andy doesnt go and a small part of why kline doesnt go. saying shane alone is the reason people dont show up is asinine and a reflection of how bitter you are towards him imo. we just dont have a very lively scene. it may be because of the lack of hype, the fact that people are just casual ***s, or both.

My post was pretty rude, but you guys definitely shouldn't spend that much time and money on a game you don't want to actually win at (you guys referring to all of UW but toph)

and yea, its a small part.
As big and mean as I am, I just like positive atmospheres. I just dont really like all the negativity and put downs that occur within our scene. Im not just talking about towards me, but everyone.
Its not all shane.
and I think if ppl were just more supportive to each other ppl would be more likely to go, people would want to go, and have more of a reason to get better.

The reason I dont go to tournies is because I dont know about them, and that our diablo friendlies are moved to saturday this quarter. And everytime I do find out about a tourney I can't plan for it because i find out about it 3-4 days before it happens. Shane update the official washington thread better? idk.
The two tournies I AM going to are the bc one and the dan3, simply because I knew about it well in advance so I can get work off.

feb gc were conflicting with finals, mar gc i went back to my parents place that weekend, apr gc was on a sunday and couldnt get time off, and may gc is the same weekend as the bc tourney.

Lol, I was actually a little drunk. I was watching the boxing match at my friends dads house and I bought a bottle of andre that I pretty much drank lol.
B4 that you didnt want to go to a bunch cuz you would rather have done something else.
and saying I went home was a choice that you made, doesnt sound like an obligation.
and yea that sunday one sucked >_<
LETS NOT MENTION THAT YOU WERE ON A SUPER BREAK FROM SMASH. IIR the word was ANDY QUIT SMASH. You didnt play that entire quarter. I cant see why you wouldnt be down to play friendlys in your own apt yet you would go to a tournament despite shanes attendance and you being out of practice.
But no, I cant tell you that you didnt want to go, its not my place. Just sayin, it seems like you didnt have much of a desire to play smash.

but everyone from UW at one point has said they didn't feel like going to a smashfest/tourney because of shane... and sorry but UW is the 2nd most prominent contingent of melee players in WA outside of Shane/Otto
@Shane: let's face it, for 90% of smash players both in and out of washington smash is not something you can dedicate 100% of your life to LOL and being constantly berated for not giving smash 100% of our time is really irritating esp. coming from a high school dropout. i mean i know your intentions are good, you just wanna see people improve/come out to tourneys and stuff but you're reallllly bad at conveying your good intentions, you just sound like a **** all the time lol

Yea its not that hard either. a bit time consuming.
I havent done it on my own yet but I was there for almost a full texture hack of a character.
I dont know if its been discovered how to alter the alternate music yet.

it only took a long time because i didnt have a mouse, it doesnt actually take that long unless youre trying to make something other than color changes or if youre editing marth/falcon/others with hella textures.
