Uthrow->Uair on Link

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if its possible for Link to dj out of the throw before the uair hits?

Sometimes, I get the uair, while other times I hit with a first hit or miss completely. For a while I thought it was my bad reaction time after the throw release...like maybe I wasn't jumping fast enough. Now I'm actually questioning whether its actually legit on Link or not.

Maybe Scotu or someone with knowledge on general frame speeds can help clear this up?

I don't think it's legit. I could never hit NES n00b's link anyway. Can you check it in training mode to see if it combos?

Yea I could..but still, I want to know when its escapable. Half the time it seems like it is.

Regardless of if its a problem or not, it would be beneficial for all of us to know if one of Fox's most reliable combos works on Link. Maybe not for you or me, but for newer Foxes, it would make the match-up that much easier.

Dthrow? What the hell are you smoking? Those are some extreme lvl 9 combos. >_>

When he's not doing that he CCs nairs to utilt. Do you want to nair yourself into a combo?

edit: As a general rule, Nair ***** anyone that doesn't CC or combo d.i. properly.

just go to training mode, uthrow->uair link at different percentages and see if it combos

Its really hard. And its only possible sometimes, I don't play link enough to tell you for sure tho.

I did a tiny bit of testing

it seems that at low percents, like 0-25%, you can land an uthrow shffl uair on link. after that until like 35% you an land an uthrow fullhop uair, but sometimes he can double jump or nair out of it (randomly, he did it once at 37% but i was able to land it at 39%). after that it is impossible. I tried on maybe thrity different %s between 40 and 100 and he could jump out of it every time.

I tried it. It works over 30 but you have to jump really quickly. I'll try the sh uair tomorrow.

shffl uair has consecutive hits but you have to be really fast. and after that, if they don't DI at all, yes you can jump really quickly and catch them, but if they DI they'll be too far it's mad lame.

You can just read the double jump, despite the fact they should catch on after that.

Just because it combos in training mode doesn't mean it will work with DI in real situations. In my experience, uthrow to uair only works if they screw up DI, and even then, the window for doing the combo is less then with some other characters, like sheik.

This combo will. You just have to space it differently.
And if uthrow uair only works when they mess up DI for you, it prolly just means you're to slow.
Unless they SDI off course. If that was what you meant youre right.
