That's too much Chaos for one event.

In other news.... I don't think I'll be going to FanX.... It's too much money for me right now.
Oh and now that I'm back in school I'll get things going for the Neumont Tourneys.... I will keep you guys posted

they had some bracket and organization issues. Pretty sure I got 13th.

I also should be around 7th in project m singles since I beat DTL in the bracket. Oh well

The tournament was pretty poorly ran.

They started PM singles and Dubs before they had even finished Brawl doubles which was the first event to start. Then they started Brawl singles before those finished.

So you had like 4 or 5 events running simultaneously with a lot of people signed up for most of the events.

Me and Devon had to wait for one of our Brawl dubs matches for literally 3 hours, we kept asking about it and were told that the other team was out to eat for the first hour or so and then it was that they had to play their matches from other events. Oh but its fine no DQ. Then me and Devon play doubles losers finals on the main setup and win, instead of playing grand finals right after....since you know the main projector setup already has Brawl on it....they delay it and switch to a different event.

Keep in mind this whole time the Utah crew stays at the venue and don't hold up the tourny at all, we hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast at 10am.

They get kicked out because the building is about to close so we have to switch venues, we tell the TO, hey were hungry we're going to get something to eat. We grab a bite for 30 mins and when we arrive at the new venue we find out that the only people to get DQed out of the whole event happens to be me and Devon in GRAND FINALS. Let's not DQ any of the random bracket matches being held up the whole day but let's DQ the OoS'ers that travelled hell a far and weren't able to eat all day from their grand finals set. PM doubles, Brawl singles, PM singles all weren't finished at this point and when we got there their were. No Brawl setups even up yet...so their was no reason to DQ at all.

On top of this the main person telling the TO to DQ us was Chris... no surprise there.

Then Rubio(no offense to him BTW awesome guy), leaves to get something to eat at the same place we did for roughly the same duration of time and holds up Brawl singles when he was supposed to play Devon, but of course no DQ.

Also Zeros and Pwny had to play 2straight UT teams even after they wee asked what state they were from. So yea.

Ain't even mad, was just pretty comical how chaotic the whole thing was

Why anybody listens to Chris on what needs to happen for a tournament, I'll never know. Sad to hear things went poorly though :( OoS experiences should never be like that.

Alright you guys, although work could still very well screw me over last minute, I am as of now officially going to Evo. And now is a great time to pay for it since they extended their early-bird deadline to next Monday.

Overall, CO was pretty poor. Fun experience, but it was definitely sloppy. I hope we can learn from what went wrong there to offer a better tournament experience in our local tournaments.
Suggestions:
1. Never start 4 brackets at the same time
2. Have a dedicated lunch or dinner break (if the venue doesn't have food)
3. Actually start at the times specified... I know this is a hard one, because you want to make sure everyone who wants to enter can enter, but after 11 hours the tournament was still going and the venue had to be moved because the building was closing down.
4. Seeding was bad, but I think Utah's is generally pretty good
5. Bracket doubles is bad, moar round robin pls. (obviously just my opinion)
6. The rules were very unclear, e.g. stage legality. Though these rules were posted on facebook, people were still counterpicking Frigate, though it was not a legal stage.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to keep tournaments on track and speed things up? My main complaint is that we were there FOREVER. Obviously, like Mars said, people shouldn't be waiting 3 hours for a match, but even tournaments in Utah tend to last 7+ hours for a single bracket.

Gonna play some melee at my place around six if people want to come. Warning: not on a CRT. No complaining. I live right below the U.
