Utah Thread - Dead thread is dead

I played Brawl this weekend!
It's easy to say that you don't have to play it first to know that items are based entirely off of luck, which isn't a good thing. No items. If it didn't work for Melee, it won't work for Brawl.
Melee and Brawl are completely different games, yes-- but they're still both Super Smash Bros.

Ha, I chose to go chill with my rich brother who's funding half my mish. Plus it gave me an opportunity to completely trounce his old son in some serious smash. Let that be a lesson to 3 year olds everywhere.

I'm not a Jiggy player... but he seems to "feel" basically the same. I'm having a harder time sleeping, b-airing with forward momentum, and his spin seems to have a lot less knock-back. My opinion there's a bad one though. :/
I've got my video recording stuffs setup to go tonight and tomorrow though. Anything we should test/record for now? I'm basically by myself here, but I've got a few scrub friends coming and going.
Falco's LL on hills:
A hill doesn't affect the knockback of the laser, so you won't get stuck and will eventually rise/lower out of the laser's path.
Solo IC's FS:
Popo's Final-smash isn't any different that without Nana.

Her fair was buffed, making her WOP aerial her forward-air. She feels basically the same floating. She can still do rising and ... unrising puffs. I think her puffs might be tad shorter.
Rest has been nerfed to the point of the same uselessness as Ness's PK Flash. It's nothing but a damge builder. Sing works the same way too. I didn't use her uair or dair much.

Yeah, it's random and very last minute. I'm sorry. I'm still planning on the 29th-1st to pack Brawl with me somewhere everyone can play though. I should have work off, but it's not 100% yet, and I don't have a place to take it. I'd much rather go somewhere other than my apartment since it's tiny, but if I have to I'll just invite everyone there.
Also... Sunday might be possible... but it might not. I'll let yah know... Thursday night-ish? I should know if/when I can then.

Here's my guess: I think she is planning on maining Pit, and doesn't want Buzz to also main Pit, because then Buzz might overshadow her in the Pit department.

Oh man oh man, this could be the last fun I have for two years. So here's my sichiation-- if the family is gone next friday, I am so totally cruising up there! (assuming you guys are brawling it up next friday) If it isn't, well... I'm screwed T_T. Brotherly love, its a good thing.

Anyway, my thoughts on brawl: It's awesome, in all reality, but nothing more than a 8.5/10 in my book. Why? Well, for one, Pit's stage. Every time you attack, you're practically bound to hit the stage, which makes you slow down a touch. That has always been annoying to me. If it was maybe half the slowdown time that it gives, then I'd probably be fine with it. Another thing is how unbalanced the final smashes are. Yes, Marth's is cheap, so is Sonic's, and somewhat Ike's. And not to forget Falco's. Those are the main ones I remember. Marth should not be a one hit kill when they're at 0%, and Sonic's shouldn't be a three hit kill. Ike, I'm not sure about the 0-death rate, but from the looks of it, if it does land, you're practically screwed. Falco's... 'nuff said.
Another thing that is just a personal bother is how "shiny" everything is. Having a "dull" effect is good, but that seems to be tossed out the window really. I can't comment on how 1v1s are, seeing as we only did FFAs, which is always tons of fun, especially when you're running from Snake's FS, and decide to get the other player's involved in the fire XP
Good things though? It looks lovely, the music is amazing, and there's just so much depth to it, even with the loss of L-cancel and wavedash. I could very easily get into the competitive scene here just because I don't really use the technique of wavedashing that much, if at all, so in a way people are "brought down" to my level. Oh, and I love that characters have their own entrances again ^^

Yeah. Unless they decide to remodify some things for the US release. All I know, the main FS that needs to be fixed is Sonic's, Falco next in line. Shorten the time for Falco or a slower flying rate, and half the speed on Sonic, half the time, half the damage, make it a touch slower, make it harder to turn around, ANYTHING. Those are the main two FSs that need to be fixed, then things would be a bit more balanced.
Yeah, I really don't like Final Smashes for competitive play. I still want to play around with items before I decided if I personally want them in or out. The levels in this game are UBER cool, and so much ****ing fun, just like the Final Smashes. But they also share the same cons as well; a LOT of levels are going to need banning. I actually now think customs levels might be the way to go. It will be a ***** to distribute and whatnot, but there needs to be a lot more neutral stages than there are for competitive play IMO.
Also... I'm learning how ****ty my capture software is. I've heard VirtualDub is good, so I might have to switch over from that. I was also using my computer while it was recording, so that could be the problem in its entirety, I'll test that out. I can already tell I've lost a lot of last night's photage, but there should still be some that's salvageable.
As for Brawl next weekend, it's still not 100%. It's more-than likely, but not final. IF plans come to fruition, we should be set to play both Friday AND Saturday.

Notice Tsuteto is only mentioning ones that were used on him at the fest as being overpowered. Giga Bowser is of that caliber, but he's not complaining about that, as I doubt people were playing with Bowser that much (no Gojira being the reason, LOL).
And I don't mind it not being on Sunday. I would prefer Saturday over it, anyway. And since it's both Friday AND Saturday, it's even better!
