MasterTK was the Falco against whom you played 10 casuals and according to him he won 7 of them, after which he said you were a really good player.Hmm... MasterTK, Was that the Fox player I played at RoX (I don't remember losing much to any Marth players ? I think I remember him, but I never got to meet you guys in general other than a few matches with Uchuha and some time with WMK.
I won the last major UK tourney but I don't think the UK standard is slipping. If anything, we're stepping it up big time. Zeppo, Jam, Mr P, Fuzzyness are still all beast. I've improved a heckuva lot since RoX , sad I didn't get to play you though.
I think we've come to the conclusion that this move does indeed work, but the payoff isn't great enough to warrent it's use. That extra bit of damage isn't as appealling as a free grab on a space animal or a free f-smash which can lead to edgeguarding. It's a good tactic and has very little risk, but it's just not as good as some of the already known options. We're not bashing it just because it's different, it's because it isn't as good as Ijuka was trying to make it out to be. To be effective a move has to do more than just rack a little damage on the opponent. Our goal is to kill them, not rack up unnecessary damage, and the currently common actions like grabbing after a tech chase or d-tilting at the edge do that better.I like this thread.
Honestly, Ijuka made a post about an idea and stated its uses and strong points. He said what he would use it for and what he wouldn't use it for.
*Use it to tech chase and set up for more attacks*
*Use it to cover options and limit opponent's response*
*After limiting the responses, use the most powerful one you have--a tipper or grab, depending where you are--once they've figured out the technique's weakness*
Assuming the move does all those things, that makes it pretty **** effective. Instead, some of you looked at it and just said, "we're not going to try it because something else works already."
And who cares if its slow? It comes out really fast and covers behind and in front. It's punishable if you miss. But on a tech-chase, where the attacker has the advantage, you control the situation and can make almost any move land if you do it right.
Rather than concretely state why his technique doesn't do what he say it does, you're saying it's not useful in circumstances *he hasn't advocated using them in.* Does this seem odd to you? No wonder he's pissed.
And lastly, even though he enumerated its multiple points, none of you tried it before commenting on why it's a bad idea. He says he's gotten good, solid results with it. You guys say, "nope, I never tried it but I know it's bad." Seriously guys.
On the other side of it, Ijuka, you are becoming excessively belligerent. You're even starting to become rude to the people who were civil to you at the beginning of the thread. It doesn't help your case at all.
I never got pissed and Cactuar is the only really good knowledgeable player here who I respect.Wobbles: Ijua has done crap like this before. Gotten defensive or overly aggressive. He ahs made post where no ne attacked him at all but then he will turn around and say things like , " I know no one will isten to me," or ," If you think I'm a scrub then you can ignore me". It's annoying to say the least.
If he has something to say he should just say it, but not act like its the end all be all.
On a side note: The really good knowledgable players didn't ignore him. They just stated thier opinions. Ijuka was the one that got pissed.
