So, we found DK's silly taunt sidestep.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC93dniTO4M
This lead to the theory that his taunt uses his ducking character model as a template.

Then, earlier today james found out a rather odd phenomenon. When Link uses his grab, his character model seems to contract horizontally, ie. an attack that would have hit the very edge of his damage box would miss completely. This has apparently been TASed (by james). I was wondering if this is an old find.

Please post useless and silly stuff about the game.

i haven't tested it will all characters but i'm sure it works with fox. When you're hanging off the edge of the left side of the left-most platform on Saffron, if you ledge drop when the moving platform is at its lowest point, you immediately stand on the platform. not too useful (since it is based on the platform's position) and probably well known but i did this on accident the other day and thought it looked cool, especially if you ledge drop to an immediate fsmash for the edgeguard.

if Link throws his bomb up from inside the hyrule pit, Fox on the middle stage can d-tilt it with the tip of his tail and not get exploded

I swear, someday, someone's finally going hack the game and get those visual hitboxes, and we will see outright just how broken some of these moves really are.

sometimes with yoshi when i run off the ledge then fastfall and jump straight away she turns around and grabs the ledge
You must be talking about this:

pivot edgehogs with fox luigi and falcon are relatively easy for me to pull off, i can do it with mario and link sometimes too but a lot less frequently. pivoting off a ledge and throwing a boomerang or second jump->fireball/bomb is fun and catches people off guard.

You don't have to with falcon it just makes it easier.

Also in case anyone doesn't know this you can pivot edgehog out of fox's full dash, not just his initial dash. I find the full dash version a lot easier actually.

Also confirmed that you can pivot edgehog / pivot taunt cancel edgehog with almost every character. With a few tries I could do them with every character except Yoshi.

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
I saw the "hedgehog" right off the bat, but had to leave to work before I could have made a funny response to it, but too many people beat me to it for a response to be funny :'(

Anyways, whether it was done on purpose or not, it was funny lol

don't you have to ff if you are too close, otherwise you will just drift away from the edge

Yes within a certain distance you have to fast fall to pivot ledgehog. The way you said it made it sound like you always have to fast fall though which isn't true if you are the right distance away from the ledge.

well. i just ff everytime so i will not miss it, i really like dash pivot on one of the side platforms on dreamland and letting him drift to the edgehog, caught some by surprise as they thought i would pivot uair.

if you swallowed a power beforehand, dash pivot taunt cancel edgehog with Kirby looks magical

edit: also, after reading dandan's post, I started searching through the sonic character board in hopes there was a "hedgehog edgehog" technique they named somewhere

Something that I discovered myself, and I've never seen mentioned elsewhere, is that you can taunt-cancel with Kirby's f-smash/ Jiggs' f-smash/ Link's dash attack (they have to be timed fairly well). Those are the only three moves I found to work.

I also found out something random the other day, though i dont know if it has been stated in a previous thread....When using Link's Invisible Bomb technique during a match with more than one opponent, Link creates two or more invisible mines (from my experience they are also in slightly different areas surrounding where you picked up the invisible bomb) , that explode on each character, one per character...So long as the invisible bomb remains alive, either in Link's hands or on the ground.

I think it's the same mine, just that once you get hit with it once, you don't get hit by it again.

has anyone noticed that you can use r to do usmash attacks? sometimes when i try and short hop uair with link, i accidentally usmash by flicking the down c button lightly and pressing r before link leaves the ground.

Characters can be divided into the following sub-groups based on what series they are from and what the genre is:

Mario characters: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, DK
"Realistic stars" (term coined in Melee): Link, Fox, Samus, Captain Falcon
Cute characters: Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Kirby, Ness

The third sub-group can be further divided:
Pokemon characters: Pikachu, Jigglypuff
HAL Stars: Kirby, Ness
