Other Stuff:
  • Zentore and Nyosuke are NOT highly ranked in Brawl. They only perform well in Melee tournaments.
  • The Ketubato videos currently on YouTube are simply some preliminary matches between some of the participants, not actually bracket matches.
  • High level Japanese players can also be found on http://www.youtube.com/user/queensaki Expect most of the Ketubato videos to be uploaded there.

Where'd the guy who played as the ice climbers learn to chain grab like that? Its like an instant kill move pretty much. The videos were awesome.

Solid matches. I think Japan smashers are ahead of American smashers currently.

ICs are cheap, but it still takes skill to get good liek that
And you're a scrub...

Honestly, from just watching a few minutes of the Lucas vid, he wasn't anything special. The d-throw to f-throw alt. combos aren't that hard. Most climbers can do those no problem.

Very nice matches, though the Kirby vs. Pit match was far from impressive. The Pit didn't know how to play the character, and the Kirby SHOULD have three stocked him. You can't use WoI that many times the way he did and not expect to be three stocked.

Sorry, I had to point out the bad because. >_> COME ON! there was only going to be positive comments if I hadn't said anything. lol

Oh and stop gushing over the Japanese players n00bs. Seriously I don't throw that term around but come on. Their are plenty of American Smashers as fast as they are. Not to mention their lack of mindgames completely shined throughout the Kirby vs. Pit match.

it was good, but me and my friend play like that. Really many people are just not used to the brawl engine yet, when I get out of college in 5 days, me and my teammate are gona upload some vids. But overall good matches.

I'll have to agree with UndrDog, aside from good spacing there wasn't anything amazing in those vids. They are good players but it really doesn't support the statement of 'Japan > America'.

OMg the peach vs marth match looked so meleefied. And dont lemme get started with the fox vs falco. There were moving sooo fast. After watching that fox I could see him moving up in the tiers.

It's not that big a deal.
Most top US pros play at this speed already.
I think the impressive part is how they each are able to play multiple characters at that top level.

lol are you kidding me the japanese are always ahead of americans, its not till videos like are release that it allows americans to even know whats possible in the game. Thats how it always is americans just copy the japanese and practice things over and over.

right now in america the winners from tournaments are winning with snakes, meta knight, and wario. People arent even using characters like falco and fox to win. Its obvious the japanese are showing us that there is a possiblity of other characters moving up the tiers list. Its been this way since jack came into the scene at tg6 for melee and now other players are stepping it up in japan to show us that brawl could become competitive.

Well I main Falco and for the past couple months been consistent in nabbing top 3 placements in tourneys where the likes of PC, Cort, and Bum would frequent on a weekly basis. So ppl here in NY already know Falco has the calibur to win, same for DK thanks to Bum. WE don't record vids cuz we know everyone and their mom is a copycat...we don't need vids to get publicity just waiting for that big national tournament to go and prove ourselves to the world that the EC still has what it takes to **** in the Smash scene...whether its Melee or Brawl.

For those bashing Japanese players, whether or not they are as good as American top players shouldn't be important. What matters is that they have a better spacing games than a lot of Brawl n00bs, so they're very good to learn from if you still roll spam or have sloppy positioning. Space well, then apply mind games. I know I am beginning to do better after applying some of this.
