I was just practicing against a lvl 1 falcon, and shined him off, shined him one more time to seal the kill, jumped off again shined him, recovered to the edge and dropped down to near the bottom of the stage, and guess what? shined him again lol.

In a real match I think i've gotten 3 shines off the edge, but i think 4 (maybe 5?) against a cpu.

Have you guys gone on unnecessary shine rampages?
If so how many have you gotten? Im kinda wondering how many are possible haha.

personally i like to do them and i see kdj do them all the time in his old fox vids, i guess u can theoretically do it infinitely if the falcon has very good timing, i think it can act sort of as a mindgames that can potentially bother the person u are playing against depending on the person, one of my friends is actually disappointed every time i miss an unnecessary shine spike on him

Unnecessary shine spikes are absolutely necessary, or else you're not cool.

Style points if you shine them under large stages.

I love it when someone unnecessarily shinespikes me into the stage and I tech it to recover.

Agreed with chize, it is a mindgame. A good player wouldn't fall for it though, but even an above average one could get frustrated.

I only do it if I didn't know the person. Or if one of my friend's gets on my nerves, I use unnecessary shine spikes as my version of a "flip you," kind of thing. =P
