I'll MM you Hylian! In Brawl, I'll scream in your ear when you try to CG me since I saw that work at HOBO 17 lol :p. I've fiddled around with the ICs some and might like to get some tips so I don't completely suck with them. But I'm better at melee.

I'll MM anybody in SSB64--who can beat my falcon?

I've beaten your falcon before, but I'd HAVE to be able to use my logitech controller.
If you stopped *****ing about how much the N64 controller sucks and actually practiced with it, you would find that it works well. You're not gonna find many smash 64 pros that use a logitech...

If you can find me one that works well, I'll say it works well. And practicing with it wouldn't do any good cuz I wouldn't be able to practice with it on a regular basis.
And I never said I was a pro.
:p

It's called "Virtual Console."

Anyway, the 64 controller works just as well. It's not hard to use. People are just *******.

I can lend you my 64, just ask. :)

I meant that plenty of good 64 smashers would back me up about the N64 controller being good.

I hope new potential members that are guided to this site by the flyers aren't turned off by how negative and elitist the discussion occasionally seems. If you're reading this, remember that we want you to come to meetings! :D

I meant that plenty of good 64 smashers would back me up about the N64 controller being good.
That's because they don't realize what they're missing out on, they only know that controller.
Okay, instead of just saying it sucks, here are my criticisms:

1. The 3 prongs, WTF
2. The control stick, I realize it was their first ever attempt at one, but that doesn't prevent it from sucking. If I had the skillz, I'd replace it with the control stick from a GC controller.

It does however have its good qualities:

1. All buttons require a light amount of pressure to push, unlike the shoulder buttons on the GC controller. I rarely miss techs and Z-cancels in 64 largely because of this feature.
2. Short-hopping is as easy as it is on the GC controller, even better than the logitech.

However, in my mind, the criticisms are enough to outweigh the good qualities. What use is it being able to Z-cancel, tech and short hop with ease when its so difficult just to move your character around? You have to remember I have ***** girly fingers that don't like to have to use that much force.

I'm not sure if you're serious, but it's the analog to Melee's L-cancelling, with several differences. It's done with Z primarily, instead of L/R as in Melee. And most importantly, instead of cancelling half of an aerial's lag, it cancels all the lag. This, combined with the game's copious amounts of hitstun and shieldstun, works to make shields very dangerous to use and punishment/combos to be quite severe.

Dangerous indeed. Every character in the game has at least a couple of legitimate shield-breaker combos courtesy of Z-canceling. Even Samus, who interestingly enough has an easier time comboing a shield than an actual opponent.
And not only is there a huge amount of hitstun and shieldstun, you can't sidestep dodge, something that took me a long time to get used to when I got into Melee, being able to sidestep.

LOL. I wasn't serious but that gave me a good laugh.

It stands for Zero Cancelling.

Don't feel ashamed Edgar, like Bored said, sarcasm is hard to detect on the internet.
But I didn't know the "Z" stood for "zero".

It at least means he can compete with pros and has potential (have to stick up for my twin, haha).
Low hobo means Low tier lol. So he's saying he took around off him in a low tier tournament.

So Gnes may not have taken it that seriously. Also, Gnes was obviously not using his main while Josh was. Hmm, maybe it does pretty much mean nothing but I do believe Josh has potential!

Well of course most people have potential I was just saying taking a round off someone in a low tier tournament doesn't usually show it lol.

This is true, a lot of people have potential. The trick is to live up to the potential, to get over that hump that separates the really good from the REALLY good (i.e. the pros). Maybe you can gauge his talent for yourself at one of our meetings (he can't come to tomorrow's meeting though).

Sure. At Dojos first brawl tournament I beat him but told him he was going to go far and had a lot of potential and now he's like top 5 in the nation and the 2nd best MK lol.

lulz, I remember the one meeting you came to last year Hylian, you faced my Toon Link with your Falco and said I had potential.
