Per these plans for smash this week/monday: I'll be arriving in Austin tomorrow and am totally up to play anytime before classes start.

Finally, can I get a headcount on the number of people who would be open to the idea of regular Melee smash fests and tournaments at my place? I'm getting a place closer to campus soon and I want to get 8-10 players who consistently show up to weekly tournaments. This would be a lot of fun, and we would all see a lot of improvement from this. And naturally, the tournaments would be pretty cheap. $5 at most.

Rankings sounds like a friendly way to promote competition. And for my two cents, I think Clay is better than Xest, but that could just be my bias to falcos that double jump dair shine.

I think it'd also be interesting to see how the club uses characters in the rankings.

I think Kal meant these melee smashfests would generally be biweekly, on Saturdays where there is no Smash Club meeting. Whenever I come to these, I could most likely bring a setup and my recording equipment. These could be like mini smash club meetings but less formal, featuring tourneys with a pot, and melee only!

This is probably about ready for posting on the OP, Justin. As for the Brawl rankings, if we want to formulate these we need to do more brawl singles tourneys and get more data.

Yes, we do mostly use chars in the top tier. Some notable exceptions: Kal's roy, Reqy's samus, Spike's peach are good. Edgar could develop a good jiggs but once you pick up falcon you can't go back to a slow, gay character like jigglypuff.

So LRA Start has been moved to April 10th, the same day we had our 6th meeting scheduled. We should reschedule that meeting to either the Saturday before (April 3rd) or after (April 17th). If we moved it to April 3rd, we could use that day for "LRA Start Boot Camp" lol.

We could do the events we intended to do at the last meeting but never got around to heh. Namely: Melee doubles, Brawl crew battle, and Smash 64 singles. And I will be sure to record several matches this time! About the commentary, I'll bring one rock band USB mic we can use for it; it would be perfect if one other person brings a mic. We should try to collect everyone's $5 membership fee. Maybe we could have pizza for paid members only.

No, I'm getting more than enough "attention", I just don't think its reasonable to ignore one another, rather than just coming to a consensus to not discuss it. And if someone makes a derogatory remark about me, I do take it personally, thats just my nature. I wouldn't make a good president.

On a side note, they're having a Brawl + tourney at Pound 4, so I think our club should follow suite.
It shows the game has a legit community and deserves more attention.
Not necessarily a tourney at our meetings, but some event.

As Clay has explained, I would host the tournaments twice per month on Saturdays during which there is no meeting. The entry fee would be small. I was thinking $5 or $1, depending on what everyone wants.

Secondly, I've got two external capture cards which I need to test. If they work, we can have a total of 3 recording setups. Also, I'm trying to get my bluetooth dongle (no homo) working with my bluetooth headset on my PC. If I can get it working, it's a second mic that should **** face.

Finally, my Roy is bad, Reqy's Samus is worse, and Spike's Peach has AIDS.
